Hi,
Newbie here. Tried to use the search function but I have no luck finding the right article regarding my concern.
From dual-boot, can I revert back my phone(i9300) to single-boot? If so, then how?
Thank you.

with which kernel you made dualboot?
for syah, googy max or devil kernel use a browser which is able to see hidden files. then go to /data/media and delete .secondrom (should be 2gb big)
on arter97 kernel go to data and delete arter97_secondaryrom
after that only your primary rom will be still available

This is my third Android phone and the first one that its a Canadian one. I used to have GS AT&T and just followed guides here because everyone had AT&T and no problems there. Now that i got Wind Mobile i dont know where to start. I did unlock the bootloader so thats one thing done right. Now all the ROMs i see in Dev section are based on T-Mobile version. Will i be able to flash them?

yes you need to flash the kernel using easy kernel flasher tool. each rom has its own kernel

Whatever ROM you flashed go back to the original thread and look for the kernel.
The ROM i am using recommends CWMFauxKernelv007 but that did not help or maybe i am doing it wrong? I just copied boot file form CWMFauxKernelv007 and flshed it with Easy Kernel Flasher. Did it 2 times and still no Data.
Flashed stock ROM back and 4G is back. Looks like APNs are gone. Is that something i must do every time since i am using T-Mobile ROMs?
Is this rom working in turkey
I have flashed paranoidandroid 3.15 on my galaxy s3 a couple weeks ago, aside the occasional screen that win't turn on I haven't had any problem, but I set my mind on flashing a new kernel in order to be able to change thez governor. I tried to flash air kernel on, I did exactly what I was told: Boot into recovery, clear cache/delvik, installed kernel from sd card, and rebooted. But after the phone being rebooted, I still had the stock kernel.
My question is, why did this happen, and how do I fix it?
All help is appreciated

wow, you're lucky the updater-script saved your phone. Flashing wrong firmware will kill it
Glenbun. Only mismatched, corrupted, or missing boot loaders can kill a phone.
yeah-yeah, but we should scare the noobs away from flashing the wrong firmware that potentially includes a bootloader

Well, I don't really know either of them, I don't mind stock, but I want to change things, sometimes it just isn't up for the task, or uses up battery when I would rather it didn't, without even knowing what they do, and looking around, I found the perseus kernel, I would like some opinions on the kernel, I would be very grateful if you told me if it fits me, if it's compatible with ParanoidAndroid, and finally if you have a better suggestion for a kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691401
read the first post of the thread to find out if it's compatible with your ROM.
and try it to see if it suits you
If I'm running TWRP can I still download kernels that say they are meant for CWM?
yes
Hi there
For some reason when i flash a 4.2.2 build of a ROM the wifi doesn't seem to connect. To make sure it wasn't a one-off with a particular ROM i tried two different ones with the latest 4.2.2 build. When i type in the passcode for my wifi route it says:
Obtaining IP address,
Saved,
Authenticating.
After authenticating it just goes back to obtaining IP address. I've left it to sit for 15-20mins and it doesn't seem to progress however when i restore back to my previous 4.1.2 build the wifi connection is perfect.
Would anybody know how to solve this?
Thanks

As the title says, I installed the wrong kernel when trying to root my phone... and now my phone wont boot
unfortunatly I don't know which kernel version I originally had so I'm a little worried that I'll have to spend all night trying every possible kernel version until it boots...
Can anyone suggest an easier way? is there a universal kernel that will get me at least to the menu section?
thanks for looking guys
Can you boot into Download mode? If so, which Android version are you on right now?
Yeah I can boot into download mode and I'm running version 4.1.2
I'm downloading I9100XWLSD_I9100MOBLSC_MOB.zip which I think is the original ROM and I'm hoping it comes with the original kernel as well...
I should just flash them both with odin right?
EDIT: download finished and I'm a little confused, there's 2 files within it
I9100XWLSD_I9100MOBLSC_I9100BULS1_HOME.tar.md5 and SS_DL.dll
I really have no idea what to do with these... do I remove the .md5 extension and unzip the .tar? help :S

If you're interested in a little tinkering, you could try flashing Siyah v6 beta 5 kernel via odin, and see if your phone boots up. Siyah v6 supports JB 4.1.2, and it will replace your current kernel. So, theoretically, your phone should boot back up.
Maybe it was already clear, but just flash the Siyah kernel first, before you try flashing a whole rom. Flashing Siyah might solve the whole problem, and you will have root access afterwards.

Yeah that's what I did Donnie and it worked a charm, thanks to both you and immortalneo. :highfive:
Just to confirm I can go ahead and install any rom now without fear of the "superbrick" bug? or would I still need to source an insecure kernel first?
Thanks again, it's a load off my mind

No problem, good for you.
This brickbug can only appear in stock 4.0.4 recovery, so you are safe.
You can try to flash other kernels (.zip files) as well through CWM. But pay attention that you search for the right ones, that are made for your device and your Android version.
Hi Guys,
I've searched for a while. I could not find a copy of the stock kernel that is flashable through recovery. I was wondering if anyone here had it with them that they can provide?
What is needed:
The version I am looking for is NC5 NOT NC5D.
Why I am asking for it:
I am getting a kernel panic when I utilize MHL mirror linking so I want to see if the stock OEM kernel will resolve this.
Current Kernel I'm using is freeza's kernel which does not appear to be moving on further.
My kernel panic happens when I mirror link onto my _headunit_ (AVIC-8000NEX) and any time I hit the back button, it will kernel panic.
If anyone has this available that would be great! Thank you!
