Mega I527 - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hey Guys,
I just switched to the Mega from Note and love yet but I have a small problem! I rooted my phone a month a go and never had a problem. Two days ago, I could not send out text messages but I could receive them and make all my calls. I did a factory reset and everything went back to normal. Well it happen again last night so once again I did a factory reset. It's working now BUT all the bloatware is not on my phone. Can anybody tell me why?
After I did the first factory reset, bloatware is there and after the second factory reset, bloatware is gone. Is that normal? Not really complaining about it, it just seem strange. Any tips or any replies, I greatly appericate it. Thanks

When you erase stock\branded carrier apps they are gone forever. thats why you should back them up just in case. I deleted an essential stock carrier app without backing it up and found out later that i needed that app to enable wifi calling on my phone. i couldent find a downloadable replacement so I screwed myself on that one. be careful erasing stuff.

It bypassed the att bloatware install package which can happen when doing that. Actually can happen with kies the exact same way which is why I dont recommend using kies for firmware related issues. Someone in another thread had similar issue where they did firmware reinitialization and then tried to do ota update which caused bootloops due to kies bypassing att package then device didnt know what it was doing. I would be cautious running the device like that because at any moment its possible to bootloop.
As far as the general issue with the device it sounds connected to the issue of bloatware disappering. I would guess you may have a bad file somewhere causing infrequent issues. If possible I would highly recommend download stock tar.md5 file and run it in odin to get a fresh run. It wont delete any of your information or apps.
ALSO NOTE BY DOING SO YOU WILL NEED TO RE-ROOT. Even if it says it is root again.
*used att as just an example, all carriers have their own "package"*

HELP - cprog.exe error, wont load touchflo3d

I did a hard reset on my phone after installing too much stuff, trying to make things run better. After i did the hard reset my phone reboots all ok, but then after that anytime i turn it off and back on i get a message that says cprog.exe and then after that message my touchflo3d wont work at all and i also cant access my contacts at all. how can i fix this? i tried another hard reset but it did the same thing.
I have had the same thing happening to me. I have tried everything, new ROMs, registry settings, completely hard reseting and putting everything as default. I am going to return mine and get a replacement it has to be a hardware issue

Yup, that happaned to me once. I just hard reset again and it was fine. Happaned one time in about 30 hard resets since ownership since last week. It actually did it on my own custom ROM which was the wierdest part. I woudl liek to say its the hardware but I dont see how? Strange issue.

LOL, so ironic considering I just started receiving this error this morning. I'm not hard resetting and it's been pissing me off. So instead I went ahead and turned off Error reporting, thus basically told the phone to pound sand.
Hi,
MY Touch HD has developped this problem and I can't use it at present. I only just upgraded to the new ROM, as directed by HTC, who now suggest a hard reset - which I am loathe to do as have just re-installed all my apps, contacts etc. Can I replace the obviously corrupt cprog.exe file with a working one? Where would I get one if so . .!?
Disappointed with HTC for the support on this.
i just replace the pim.vol file and it works, i'm using touch pro 2. sad to say that, i just got my phone about 1 week, and i found alot of problem with its rom and software.

cprog.exe might not be as simple to replace since I believe that this is cooked into the roms. Hard reset is normally the best medicine...

[Q] "Insert sim card" error :(

Hi
Recently my S2 just stopped reading my SIM when I was going to call someone. Since then it has refused to read my SIM, or any other SIM for that matter.
To fix this problem I've tried resetting the phone to factory settings (in 3 different ways ( hard-reset.com/samsung-i9100-galaxy-s2-hard-reset.html )) with no luck.
I've also tried installing alternative ROM's, but with the same result.
The phone was already rooted with an insecure kernel when this happened, so warranty is long gone.
Though, one thing I did realize was that even though I did hard-reset the phone several times, some of the settings on the phone remained untouched, like my locking pattern and a few other settings. Does this mean that hard-resetting the phone isn't really an actual hard-reset? If that's so, is there any way to properly 100% reset the phone?
In short; I'm running out of options on how to fix this. I refuse to believe it's hardware related, just because I'm stubborn like that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated (really).

You can refuse to believe in gravity too, but falling from high distances will still hurt.
If you tried more than one SIM in the phone and none work, but those same SIMs work in other phones, than more than likely, it is hardware related.
Did you check you imei?
078gregory brings up a good point. So if it's not missing IMEI info, THEN it's likely hardware.
Isn't it funny how everything suddenly works itself out once you cry out for help?
Today I've been trying around 10 different ROM's on the phone. Custom and stock. As one last attempt I gave a random ICS 4.0.3 march ROM a last try, and guess what. I got the SIM prompt. I can not believe it. So yeah, it's working now. I have no idea what caused it, but I believe the phone was stuck in flight mode somehow, and just needed an extra push to get out.
Either way, it's working like a charm now. Thanks for the replies though.

Hi people. I have the same problem Habitats decribes. Mi s2 is stuck in flightmode and cant get out! i have reset the phone in every kind of way but no succes. Now i read here on this forum that flashing my phone to ICS 4.0.3 can help solve the problem. I'm on 2.3.6 now. This flightmode thing happened al over sudden. I have done nothing strange with the phone. Its not rooted either. I was planning to go to a samsung servicepoint and let them check whats wrong. But now i read this thread and see that i can relate to this problem of Habitats. I think a also will try to flash ICS 4.0.3 and watch what happens. But theres another problem. KIES don't recognize my phone anymore so what can i do? Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance
I'm having the exact same problem, could you please tell me which rom worked for you Habitats? Thanks in advance!
Update:Last tuesday i went to the vodafone store were they have a samsung service department also. I explained my problem to them but they don't seem to recognize the problem. Although i read that many people here at xda's and over the internet have similar issues with this phone.Strange! So they sent it to the repair centre. Yesterday i could see in the track and trace menu of the repair centre that my fone was ready and send back to the vodafone store. Status: Boardswap. So they swapped the whole board! Didn't know that the problem was that serious! So i hope i can pickup my galaxy s2 soon this coming week!! I can't wait!I'm on my old HTC Touch HD now. Its ok with the windows but on Android....Arggghh!! Whatsapp is a pain and more. Its so laggy!. I will give an update soon again!

[Q] About to attempt a Factory Reset, any advice to prevent brick?

About to attempt a Factory Reset, any advice to prevent brick? I backed up my phone and it has the latest firmware, it updated to 1314 last night. I would rather not have to do this but I am having an issue where my WiFi doesn't want to re-connect when I get home without a reboot and other small Bluetooth issues. I really need to see if the WiFi issue fixes itself after a factory reset because if it doesn't I will get AT&T or Nokia to replace it. It is fully charged and on the wall plug waiting to start. Any advice would be appreciated.

In my experience you've just got to do it, there's not much that can be done to prepare for it. My 920 has never had any issues with a factory reset, many others haven't either. I do have a theory though that American 920's (ATT) are more prone to bricking (mine is Australian) but I've not got much to back it up, just a theory.
Just go for it. Worst case scenario you'll need a replacement, but it should be fine. Good luck!
Well i did it and I got the Gears of Death. I used the recovery guide on WP Central to restore it.

Anyone else struggling with Samsung Galaxy Alpha performance?

My wife and I both bought Samsung Galaxy Alpha phones when they were released. It was a fine phone until about a year ago when they updated. After that update both phones became miserably slow. As in, sometimes can't even respond in time to answer phone calls slow. Today I started the GPS and it didn't offer directions until I arrived at the destination. Yet, sometimes it'll be very fast as if nothing were wrong.
I know it's not a hardware problem because it's affecting both phones. I just replaced the battery on one of the phones (taken from a new Galaxy Alpha). Doing a factory reset didn't fix the problem. Resetting the phone helps some but not for long. I'm wondering if it's just FUBAR now? Should I try rooting the phone? Maybe Google fixed the problem in a later update.
If you factory reset it and restore everything back again you won't help the phone in anyway (if that's what you did), try using a custom ROM like EpsilROM, then delete unnecessary system apps, also try using less RAM hungry apps like Facebook or find a way to kill apps when you don't use them

Lags, Freezes and Force Closes after Device Factory Reset

Ok so I've never attempted to root my Note8 or modify it in any way. It's paid off and was going to sell it since I have a nother one via the BOGO deal with T-Mobile. I did a factory reset to prep the phone for the new onwer. I left it on the setup screen without ever going further. Today the buyer backed out so I decided to give it to my sister. Shes had the phone for only a few hours and hasn't even downloaded an app yet and the phone is acting very odd. It freezes often and backs out of any open app. Apps freeze while using them then force close. Stock apps. Facebook being the worst and it's a system app so I can't so much about it without root.
It lags, skips, freezes and has gotten pretty hot.
I did not modifying at all. No firmware reflash or anything. Just a simple factory reset due to just selling the phone. It had no prior issues before the fact.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a fairly new phone and all I see is battery problems that I have yet to experience on either one of my Note8s.

Do not another factory reset. If that does not help try reimage it.
Just root? Or custom ROM as well? Maybe go back to Stock Unrooted.
