Is it just a hardware limitation or can it be enabled on our phones by some tool or something? (My phone is rooted, btw)

It is a kernel feature, a custom kernel may bring OTG support to our device!

if they can do THIS
Can the method used by implemened on the x10?
0_0 wow, i hope so !!. Good find Pilot.
But surely by pass is better like we have now like incase something goes wrong you can simply flashback to stock and your warranty is still there. Bypass is more than adequate for me. Is there any extra benefit to be gained from fully unlocked bootloader as opposed to the current bypass?
Nice find though ;-)
Although I guess flashing back to a stock rom with flashtool could work incase something broke. But say if something broke would flashtool still be able to read the device as x10?

The thing is we don't have fastboot on X10, so I doubt this method could be applicable!
Someone should let our devs know though, just in case!

Exactly. I'm thinking, We need a way to enable fast boot (It should be present to my understanding)
This is really turning out good. xperia84 was really right about this. If Motorolla and HTC unlock bootloaders for Atrix and Desire then why not SE for x10?
just think of it guys, It's pure business and competition
Actually, our devs shouldn't do anything for the bootloader for now. Who knows our x10 gets unlocked when getting GB as a big surprise?! Unless if they like to do it, they should keep messing with it !

Fastboot is a protocol used to update the flash filesystem in Android devices from a host over USB. It allows flashing of unsigned partition images. It is disabled in devices with locked bootloader since USB support is disabled in said bootloader.

Just a funny idea...
So the SE provides oem unlock codes for their devices. Obviously we cannot use fastboot with S1 loader.
But what would happen if we use usbloader with fastboot mode enabled...

So we can't enter fastboot with the provided loader for sure.
The post is quite old (16th April 2011) so I guess this idea unfortunately has sunk.
But maybe someday there will be a workaround...

Yes, which is why ROM developers don't release different versions for a or i, as its essentially irrelevant.

Hello,
I have several android tablets, all but one (at this moment) are rooted. I am not interested in putting a custom rom on them at the moment (mainly because not all functions -like camera- are working on all devices) but I would like the ability to do a Nandroid backup that seems to be only available with custom roms. On one device I can't unlock the bootloader (Azpen A701), don't know about the unrooted one at this time (brand new Hisense Sero 7 pro).
Is there a way to add CWM to a rooted stock android (only root applied and associated superuser/busybox apps installed)?
What are the requirements (unlocked bootloader?)?
Where to get said CWM and how to install it?
What do you mean by stock android device?
Can anyone plz create cwm & custom rom for HCL Me y3 tab??
I think you need to unlock your bootloader first then only you can install it.

stock android device
By stock android device:
--- I mean one that has the original stock rom (as it was shipped from the manufacturer, like Samsung, Motorola, LG, etc) that has only been rooted.
--- As in no custom firmware has been installed at all after rooting; this may be because one isn't available, owner is otherwise satisfied with the OS, or doesn't like what is available for one reason or another (like camera not working).

and if theres a way to restore the phone to factory (bootloader and root)?
Any new if theres going to be an update with this features enabled? cause I really dont know why they are off.
I''m planning on following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asDB6_4xm7I do you recomend it or is there a better one?
Thanks

Well, As There is no physical Gyroscope sensor in our device, Huawei probably won't enable it by default. But you can enable it by the tutorial... it would b virtual gyroscope.
I don't know if Huawei will release any update enabling OTG though. Lets see.
In the mean time... you should follow the tutorial you mentioned & activate it. Or you can use custom roms which have them enabled by default.
p.s. always take a nandroid backup.
Cheers.

Hello.
I want to use Android Pay, but app showing me error, that Google cannot confirm software on my Z2.
I have stock ROM (prerooted MM, 23.5.A.1.291). I did full unroot in SuperSU settings but it still shows me that message.
My bootloader is blocked (once it was unlocked, but I did DRM keys backup and all fully working).
I don't want to flash stock with Flashtool (I will lose recovery).
What to do now?
Thanks for help.

You MUST HAVE UNTOUCHED SYSTEM (incl. RECOVERY) in order to use Android Pay.

If i good think, you cant have system-less root without change kernel. if you change the kernel, you cant have Android Pay. If you don't have root, you can't have Magiska... etc...
Ok, I understand, thats bad news for me...

Is it known what exactly does Android Pay check? I have stock 6.0.1 and Pay is working fine for me. Now I'd like to flash LDAC mod to get better sound with wireless headphones (https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...-xperia-x-ldac-ahc-port-enjoy-hi-res-t3370105). This mod apparently just adds LDAC library into /system/lib and appends few parameters to /system/build.prop. Any opinions whether it could break Android Pay? Thx!
