I don't know if this is he proper way to go about this, but I have done extensive google searches for my answer and have come up short. I have recently purchased an MHL to HDMI cable (its the correct 11-pin cord), and for some reason can not get it to work on my GS3 running gummy ROM 4.4.2. I tried the cable on my wife's GS3 witch is stock and it works just fine....any suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael Williams
Only stock firmware can use the MHL output.

There has to be some sort of hack to get it working on my ROM...if it works on the stock firm, then there is a way...I just was hopping someone here would have the answer..

Mhl output not being recognized after s-off. Anyone else with similar issue? Worked fine prior too. Worked with Temp root also. Any idea's?
Are you rooted stock or on a custom rom. If so which rom?

I'm not sure. I'm soff running mags rom and mine is working fine
Apple sucks ballz
I nand back to stock rom, and working. I'm back stepping now to figure out what I did to flub it up in the first place. I had flashed a variety of new roms out. But had wiped each time. I don't think it was the roms, probably some of my own tweaking.
Did you flash custom kernel? That probably did it if so.

Pretty sure you have to give the MHL adaptor a power source for it to work. As in plug the usb into the wall. So you have the hdmi cable to the tv and the usb cable to your AC adaptor.
Tmobile works.just finefor my.3d after.rooted just like its said.u have to.connect power also it.on the side , for it.to work

Do you have a link to that cable?
Mine works fine....even on the dock and off the dock...
I like hacking and cutting and fixing and things like that so I was wondering is it anywhere remotely possible to make a home made tv out cable for cheap that works with either the headphone jack or usb port (to charge at the same time or not) the tmobile vibrant? If It makes a difference I use cm7 and stock respectively. Right now I am using stock for its camera app but id really like to use my phone with the tv but I dont trust buying things online and I cant find any in stores. Again any and all help is welcomed and greatly appreciated. I hope this is possible

After rooting my phone the HDMI out on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 does not seem to work. Is this normal. Is there a way so I can use it with the phone rooted ??
Rooting week have no affect on hdmi it. Did you have it working before? How are you doing it?
By the way you may want to make your title a little more descriptive then your name. We don't have anyone with jcalvin experience, but surely have a few with hdmi experience. They may overlook your thread if they don't know what it is.

I can't get my MHL adapter to work with the Xfinity player app. It tells me to disconnect the secondary output device to play video. The reason I bought the MHL adapter was to use the Xfinity app. Does anyone else have this issue and is there a workaround?

they probably don't let you output video from the app because they don't want you to be able to give out your log in info to anybody with a smartphone who then no longer even needs a cable box lol. they want you to use the box for video output, and your phone for viewing on your phone screen only.
im not saying there isn't a workaround, I'm just saying if you find a workaround you can essentially sell your log in info lol.

Other than returning it. Nope. It didn't work for what I wanted to use it for.

Hey guys I'm have trouble getting HDMI out. I'm using a non oem hdmi adaptor.
(Running CM10.2)
Any ideas?
Thanks.
I'm not sure if the kernel supports it or not, I doubt it, but in order to use that you need to have a kernel that supports the hdmi out function.
