Downgrading from KK 4.4.2 to JB 4.3 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

So my dad wants me to downgrade his Z Ultra (model C6833) back to JB because he finds JB's browser better, and because of other stuff...
I had a GS3 and I now own a N5. I rooted before, flashed, even unbricked a couple of devices. That being said, I'm not pro so I'd like for you guys to help me downgrade his version to JB without me ruining anything.
I would like to make a full backup of everything, things such as IMEI and other stuff that would rescue me incase something would go wrong.
Thanks in advance

Before you start to read further. Copy everything you have on that device to a folder on your computer.
Everything that is stored on the phone will be lost!
Now first off. Read this guide how to use flashtool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
Read this guide how to downgrade
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593918
and do the first guide: "Downgrade path 1 (very easy):"
Downgrade path 1 (very easy):
Download needed files
Download C6833_14.1.B.1.532_NUT.ftf
Flashing using flashtool
Flash EVERYTHING in the above ftf by @[NUT]
Reboot
Flash EVERYTHING in this ftf, (use the defaults) it will do the downgrade below so you will end up on .532 with a working IMEI ready to root with bin4ry's tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devd...ct/dl/?id=3442
You will end up with a device that thinks it is a C6833 but when you flash 4.3 or newer (.290 or .136) just use the one for your real model and the model number will be restored.

Some issues that might occur:
Driver signature verification failure
If you are using Windows 8 or later there will be some issues with installing flashtool when you are installing the S1 driver and fastboot driver because you need to reboot Windows 8 in debugging mode and turn of driver signature verification to be able to install those drivers.
If you are using Windows 7 or older then you are fine. There will be no issues to install flashtool with S1 driver and fastboot driver
Read this guide on how to disable driver signature verification in Windows 8 or later

edit: I just reached 400 posts!

after you have downgraded (using the guides above) you can then upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 using one of the FTFs in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921
If I remember right 290 or 136 will be the best option.
You have to downgrade with the above guide or you will lose the imei no (it can be got back so is not too much of an issue but a pain)

[Q] Xperia U cannot root?

Ok, I've installed all the drivers that come with flashboot (xperia u, flashboot and fastboot)
ST25i
firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54
ics 4.0.4
Says in the settings that it can be unlocked.
Gone all the way through the official method, at the end it just says "root failed" (rechecked both modes multiple times.
Installed flashtool, tried that method, root fails.
Run "root many android", also fails.
I am running everything in admin mode, the phone stays in fastboot and driver is recognized... I just have no idea.

better unock through flashtool
u trying to root or unlock bootloader??
I think he wants to root it...You have to flash .B.1.10 kernel as first. After that you can root (by any method, but I strongly recommend latest Flashtool). And after rooting flash back kernel B.1.54
Where do I get the kernel and how do I flash it? Thanks!
I've tried using this, but get the error "the device must be rooted 1st"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926387
Now following this guide, gets stuck when it tells me to unplug the device, hold the back button (up arrow) and plug in the usb, phone comes on, computer recognises, phone stays with blue led lit... nothing happens..
Use flashtool to flash stock kernel. Search for. 10 and. 54 kernels on forum
Sent from my Xperia Sola (XDA for Android)
Flash .10 kernel first. Root your phone with "root many android" trheads method and watch the tut vid. Then flash. 54 kernel. I couldnt find "root many android" topic with my phone, so just search for it. When using flashtool to flash kernels, first install drivers from drivers folder, then boot your phone in flashmode. Hope this helps

Then i proceed to follow instruction when flashing but the downloaded file from the link only showed boot img and recovery img,I'm afraid i might brick it so i did not proceed.
Then i found another link and DL'ed his files (HERE)
FOllowed his instruction but SPflash said use firmware upgrade,so i used firmware upgrade and this appears

ID suggest that you install the stock ROM, make it totally back to factory state, then start again by flashing custom Rom and rooting again

Can't update XZU C6802 to 4.3, device modified? SOLVED - unlocked bootloader.

I held off updating my XZU to 4.3 until root was found, as I don't want to live without it (because of: Titanium backup, VPN software, full linux install on uSD card).
My XZU has an unlocked bootloader, too, as well as being rooted. I'd also modified /system/build.props too.
When I saw the OTA, I tried it and it failed without giving a reason, so I booted up Windows and used Sony PC Companion, and it too failed:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've looked at many XZU update threads and none seem to mention this specific issue.
When the tool runs, it takes a minute to "prepare" (it seems to have kept stuff it downloaded the first time). The phone does stuff, screen goes blank. Then the update fails giving the above message. The phone is then dead, and I have to unplug the USB before I can turn it on.
I restored the standard build.props from a backup copy. Do I need to relock the bootloader? Remove SuperSU and unroot?
Laptop computer has lots of free disk space, and is running standard win7pro-x64, nothing special installed.
thanks for any ideas.
I think that it is the unlocked bootloader?
I just flashed the ce 290 ftf when I had some error in pcc. Might have been the same one.
Rooting is easy on 290 if you have an unlocked bootloader
it's not root, because I unrooted device, so I am guessing its the unlocked bootloader. I've never managed to get Barclays Bank mobile app to work as it complains about phone being rooted, still doesn't work, so it must be detecting the system modified flag (this is using the older version of the app which was happy to run on a fully p0wned Galaxy Note 2).
OK, it was the unlocked bootloader. OTA update now working.
thanks!

Z5 Compact (Rooting status: unknown)

Greetings community I have a big problem with my Z5 Compact E5803.
A couple of months ago I unlocked the Bootloader, I rooted it and never had any problem (I did all this in the version of Android 6.0.1) until I decided to update it by Flashtool to the latest existing version of Nougat (I downloaded the firmware E5803_32. 4.A.1.54_Generic LAM, through XperiFirm).
The fact is that by mistake I included these options in the firmware flash:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now the problem is that I can not flash any kernel to root my phone, since I always get the same message in both Flashtool and Fastboot mode; "FAILED (remote: command not allowed)", I can not unblock or block the bootloader again, my cell phone does not recognize the nano SIM, and the screen freezes when I enter the camera application.
I made several attempts to flash again the firmware I had before flashing Nougat, Marshmallow (32.2.A.0.224_R7C_Latin America Generic_1299-2789.ftf), I tried to block the bootloader by Flashtool and unlock it again, according to the program all right but when reviewing the phone keeps appearing "Rooting status: unknown".
Community, I do not know what else to do, I would be very grateful for a definitive solution, thank you :crying:
PD.: I had posted this before, but I think I did it in the wrong place
I will be attentive to your comments and suggestions community and if the photos are not published in the post I will gladly pass the link :good: where you can see them. Sorry for my bad english
I do not know what you can do now
but I know where you were wrong , you did not have to tick SIMLOCK

Yesterday I tried and unfortunately it did not work
Well, flashtool should backup your previous TAs. Find them at C:/user/.flashTool/registeredDevices/serial number/rawta/date.fta
Backup
do not back up with Flashtool but I have a backup made with this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/universal-dirtycow-based-ta-backup-t3514236
I have the file:
TA_E5803_XXXXXXXXXX_xxxxxxxx-xxx.img :victory:
perhaps this helps:
Restoring TA to factory state
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74041813&postcount=217
I cannot give any further advice, as I am not aware what the "Misc TA" options actually do. good luck
