Is it possible, via apps or otherwise, to lock-down a Viewsonic G Tablet?
I've got it rooted and we are deciding to run either TnT Lite or Cyanogen 7 [still testing] we will be distributing the tablets to very un-savvy users who couldn't root the thing if they tried, but we don't want them to be able to install or use any apps other than what we deem fit.
Is it possible? What's the best path? Paying for licenses/software is an option.
I'm using Application Protection to lock down Amazon Market and the Market so my parents won't accidentally purchase apps. I know there are several such apps, but you're going to have to try them all to figure out which one works best for you.
So I managed to root my Nook Tablet today, and now I am onto my next huge problem... getting touch OSC to work on the Nook Tablet and syncing it with Ableton. Touch OSC is an audio program that is synced with Ableton to control midi live on stage. My problem is that when I open the network option which is under settings, the program 'touch OSC' crashes. I am running my Nook on Honeycomb , the Android software - so my Nook should basically function like an Android Tablet... and I have no idea why the program is crashing. I rooted it the proper way via this site.
Anyone have any idea what to do next?
I can not find a solution for this on the internet ANYWHERE. In fact, Hexler is completely focused on questions for the iPhone and iPad, and any other thread about touch osc is for an android device.. however I am using a Nook with android device and I can not find any other instructions with this situation!

Two points: 1) this is Gingerbread, not Honeycomb. If the app is designed for Honeycomb, that may explain why it does not work. 2) even rooted with gapps installed, there are still parts of the Google framework that are not available (for example, Google Contacts does not work). There will be some apps that will not work.

Did you ever find a solution? I'm doing this but on my Nook Color with CM9 ICS
Haven't found a pertinent topic via search, so I thought I would start the topic over to cover the specifics of what I'm looking for. Let me start with the situational background;
My father, new to android, bought a Samsung Galaxy 10.1. i want to be able to show him some tips, tricks and settings. I am 2000 miles away, so to be able to do this, it is going to have to be a remote/desktop viewing of sorts.
Basically, I want a remote desktop for his tablet, where I can view/control it via EVo, Asus Transformer, or even a PC.
If this is possible from an unrooted client, that would be slick. Thanks in advance.
You have this:
http://androidwebkey.com/
But you have to get the tablet rooted.
Then you can control the tablet from a browser.

Urgent help needed...
:crying::crying:
total newbie to tablets , bought a cheepo ITtechnology(uk) 7inch tablet with (i believe) kitkat 4.4.2
only want it as a device to wirelessly control my camera , not interested in the modern world otherwise , is there anything I can install that will allow me to remove/delete all of the apps and features I dont want , and maybe a firewall that will block all access ,eccept the connection I want to use .
not asking for an all out solution , but if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great .
thanks Graham
