Hey there. I'm new to rooting and flashing ROMs. I recently soft bricked my HTC One S. I accidentally wiped my phone and all I had was TWRP. I could boot into the boot loader but that was it. I deleted my OS, accidentally, and I don't know how, but I deleted my recovery of my original OS.
Anyway. My stock ROM is now gone. I tried to install a new stock ROM and I was unsuccessful. I managed to install TrickDroid 10.3.2 with HTC Sense version 5.0. It was great except that it will not connect to Wi-Fi.
Does anyone know if a Fix?
Software information
Android Version
4.1.2
HTC Sense Version
5.0
Software number
TrickDroid 10.3.2
HTC SDK API level
5.12
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi all, I'm hoping you can help me. I started to change the OS on my Velocity and after getting as far as unlocking the bootloader and flashing the boot.img i kinda managed to brick my phone. I got it working again after a long, involved process and it is running stock but the only boot.img that I could find that would work, ie. not get stuck in a boot loop, doesn't have the correct wifi settings for MAC address. All the aussie based roms seem to have been pulled and the boot.img in the RUU's that i have found aren't right. I have Android 4.0.3 with HTC Sense 3.6 Software number 3.44.841.3, Kernel 3.0.16-g1739124 [email protected] #1, Baseband version 3.05.4740.23_34.31.701040.22L and Build number 3.44.841.3 CL385774 release-keys. The bootloader is unlocked and the phone isn't rooted. If someone could point me to the correct boot.img I would be eternally greatful

Afternoon all,
I'm quite new to the android scene so please forgive me if this sounds an obvious question.
I have a HTC one that has been rooted and unlocked the bootloader. I haven't flashed a custom ROM to the device i'm still using the original factory OS. I wanted to flash a google edition ROM to my device but decided against it as I was a bit of a novice with Android.
Anyway I have a software update available to me on my phone which I can't install because it it rooted, could anybody help me with how I can install this update or how I can Unroot my phone and lock the bootloader again so I can install it.
Many Thanks
Hey,
So I usually dont have many questions, but I have not updated my DNA in a very long time Currently I am running
Android Version
4.1.1
Sense Version
Sense 4+
Rom Version
ViperDna 1.3.5
I am running TWRP 2.6.0.0 and I think I am running DSB kernel but really cant remember because its been so long, phone is unlocked and S-ON.
I am looking to update to 3.5.0 which looks to be the latest one available, I have a hard time telling because there is no order in the threads regarding the updates that have been released,
I seen it says that you need TWRP BETA .6 which I have downloaded, and I have already downloaded 3.5.0 Rom.
So now my question is, what kernel do I need in order to install these on my device without issue, and in what order do I need to update them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
I still have my unlock token bin saved, maybe it would be faster and easier to re lock the phone, update to stock OTA kitkat and then install 3.5.0? Looks like a custom kernel isn't necessary in the install instructions?
Let me know, thanks again in advance
*Bump*
(If this is not in the right thread please tell me and I will move it)
Hi,
I have a HTC One M8 running CyanogenMod 13 Nightly beta, unlocked bootloader, rooted. Recently my carrier (Optus, Australia) has released an ota update for 6.0 Marshamllow and Sense 7. I have two questions.
1. How do I switch from the Cyanogen recovery (which just appeared one time) back to TWRP?
2. How do I go back to the rom I have for my device to receive the ota update?
I would really appreciate some help, still new to all of this.
Thanks heaps.
Hi guys I have an AT&T HTC ONE M8 and it was rooted and running 4.4.4 and TWRP and then something happened to it which caused me to go RUU and restore the device and unroot it and everything. Then I was on 6.0 and rooted it with the HTC ONE M8 rootkit and flashed SuperSU and TWRP on it and currently its still running rooted 6.0 with TWRP, I don't like marshmallow and I want to downgrade to kitkat or lollipop. My bootloader is unlocked and I am S-ON! Please someone explain very thoroughly how I can downgrade as I am not 100% tech-savy as we speak.
Thank You Guys So Much!
You can simply TWRP flash a 5.0 based M8 ROM, or restore a 5.0 backup and it will work. I believe the same is also true for 4.4.4. But not 4.4.3, as it is not compatible with newer firmware (hboot, radio, etc.). And you need s-off to downgrade that firmware.
Be aware, whatever you think you are gaining from downgrading; you are losing by not having years of Android security updates (patches to vulnerabilities, etc.).
Thanks Mate! Can you redirect me to a 5.0 Rom?

Not specifically, no. You can search the ATT Dev section for 5.0 ROM as easily as I can. Or if you don't need or want an ATT based ROM, you can also look in the "international" Dev section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development
Also, ROMs which have been updated (Android 6, 7) may or may not still have links to 5.0 versions.
Alternately (and probably easier to find) just restore a stock TWRP backup of a 5.0 ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
You don't need (or want) to restore the data partition, so it is essentially the same as flashing a ROM (although getting the files to the right location is a bit trickier). Also, no need to install stock recovery (as getting an OTA update is not what you want). Then root if desired.
