Or anything bad that your device may happen to cause after flashing this kernel"
Since the default kernel for kitkat roms already include overclocking & undervolting what is the advantage to this kernel?

Mounting Storage With OTG:
Use either an OTG app or a file explorer, USB storage devices will be mounted to /usbdisk
Im trying to get this merged to our recovery also so we can backup encrypted nandroids to a flash drive
Let me know if you have any issues with this kernel
there is another project im working on so new features may not flood in right away
Flashed this to my rezound running cm11. Booted fine and seems to be running great so far. Will report back with any findings.
What specifics did you change to get wiimote working? Is it to say that I can use wiimote apps from the play store now? Does this fix the Bluetooth issue that Google changed after 4.1.2? I used to love playing SNES ROMs on my tablet with my wiimote. Perhaps the best companion on a flight ever.
Thank for your work on this Devs.

With the WiiMote i had to add back the driver that was missing, its also not available for 3.0 kernels by default.
now in my testing its not working in 4.4.3, if the LED's keep flashing than its not completely connected & i will get this working again
but when it is working there is no need for extra WiiMote apps from the playstore to connect or button map because its all baked into the driver thats inside the kernel :good:
Edit: just fixed it

You should be able to, i haven't tested this myself since i am not s-on but the scripts used support s-on detection
it will than make a flashable zip that is compatible with the bootloader than reboot to bootloader and flash it for you
if you test this let me know, i remember this script worked fine for older kernels but i currently need feedback on it
okay, re-uploaded the kernel check the changelog in post 2 :good: just wiimote fixes
When flashed it restarted to bootloader I flashed my IMG and all is well

Anytime! Also got a little extra mod you might be interested in. Its regards to the advanced TCP control algorithms.
https://github.com/IllusionRom/andr...mmit/ff33333403d82b3105897e7331ac11618489af8e
If you don't use this and attempt to run say Westwood as default, kernel will kick it back to Cubic.

Nice, thanks again!
Will definitely try this, was holding off the next version of my kernel since REV and I joined a project regarding our kernel getting out of legacy and I didn't want to spend a lot of time debasing this kernel if the project was successful but I think I'm just going to start adding things again

One tiny request, very low priority (I'm still on CM10.1) - can you add LulzActive governor? I have had great results with running Core0 on LulzActive and Core1 on Badass. Not sure if Lulz is even relevant any more, but I do like it. :fingers-crossed:

WREXY & SKYWALKER
Wrexy is a conservative based governor. Its similiar to the Lionheart gov. It tends to stay out of higher frequencies to favor lower frequencies but performance is not hindered. Personally I use this as my CPU Awake gov
Skywalker is a SavageZen based governor. I would not recommend this as a CPU awake kernel because it'll stay in the higher frequencies... but as a Sleep kernel, it stays in the low frequencies and almost instantly puts your phone into deep sleep. You'll also experience no lag on wakeup and no skipping of music! Its the best CPU Sleep GOV in my opinion
I highly recommend running a kernel cleaning script in between installs

Gotta love boost :highfive:. Um I don't have the time to make a complete list right now. If you're on the old jellybam and the new MALI driver hasn't been implemented yet, then version 2.22 is for you. I would expect to see that most of the ROMs will implement the new MALI driver soon. The newest CM10.1 build 2/24 is the first ROM(I know of ) that has the new MALI driver.

I think I found a bug. Im oc to 1300 but it not being used. CPU spy saying 1300 unused. Using your default profile with featured governors featured on op.
PS. Changed oc to 1400 same result. No oc on oc kernel

Another kernel by a great developer!
Thanks man!
running sweet all morning not an issue at all but have not tested gps or bluetooth yet
looks good, does it have sds patch??
Thanks for this..
-GPS is flying
- Bluetooth is fine
Talking about 3rd party OC/UV apps, Tegrak Overclock Ultimate is not compatible.
Didn't notice any built-in OC app after flashing the kernel...
Which is the recommended one btw?
Edit- Never mind, I am using Android Tuner app for OC/UV, for now...
Perhaps I still can use Tegrak for GPU control....gonna test later....

Hey mate I use trickster mod for playing with CPU and hussy oc using rom toolbox
Woops gpu

trying this kernel out instead of note2core, seems good so far.
The gpu freq settings in trickster only goes upto 440mhz, shouldn't it be 533+ for better gpu perf?
Any plan for N7105?

Hi, does this ROM contain the patch for the dodgy eMMC controller?
Does this kernel support CRT off? And if it doesnt, can you possibly add it?
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you an unofficial port of the Z1
Pimped Kernel
This is a kernel for CM11 based ROMs and uses -caf. If your ROM isn't faily new and doesn't use -caf then don't expect this kernel to boot. It was built inside Carbon and I have tested in there, it should boot CM/FXF, SlimKat, LiquidSmooth, Carbon, Omni, etc. I don't know how well it will boot PA/PAC/etc that are further away from this codebase but you are welcome to try. As this is a first build so expect some FCs and reboots, and and not all features will work. Please read the OP to see what is on offer. Things that won't work are LCD/Touchscreen/DT2W, and others may be prone to bugs.
This has kernel is built with Linaro SaberMod Toolchain 4.7 and -O2 etc optimisations (not as many as the slimkat kernel). Performance seems good, and the ability to underclock/volt and turn off cores should give extra battery life.
Please don't use this unless you know how to get out of trouble/bootloops/non-boot/lost recovery/etc. I nor Androguide.fr take any responsibility for dead or undead Z-Ultras
Kernel features are controllable through Androguide.fr's Pimp My Z1 app, (thread here).

When I open camera directly after boot it works fine ,
when not I have also FC
Im using camera kk app and it works fine. Just first time camera is not moving (it stops on first "seen" frame), but it is on every kernel (maybe rom's, maybe app's bug) and after killing it in recent apps and starting again everything works fine
Strange for me is that this kernel has more governors etc, and i always thought that coz it we should have less ram, and there is more than ie unofficial slimkat kernel
Edot: Is there any chance for f2fs version in the future? Its a lot better than ext4, so it can make our ZUs fly even better than now

after a bit of flashing and testing the no outgoing calls is a bug in the test build of Carbon not this kernel so all is good on this front.
This kernel boots the last couple of Carbon builds, back to at least the 19/4 so that's another plus.
I'd not really had the camera issue that many people had had in the last few weeks on the CM based ROMs so it's sort of new for me.
You made it!!! Congrats and THANKS! Perhaps it's time I go back to a non-stock ROM now, just to try this kernel...
I found other problem (at least for me) with pimp my z1. I cant set 2nd core governor, coz it always return to intelliactive last saved? (im not sure as sometimes it stays on last saved sometimes on earlier), now, as i know how it works, its not the problem to set governor I want, but its strange bug. I would use trickster but there I cant set different governors for every core (As i found out set governor is only for first core)
EDIT: Maybe someone answers: What is Pen Mode in this app? If it is what I think we dont need it as our phone support mostly everything as a pen. The same for gloves i think
Has anyone tried this Kernel on CM11, if so any problems?

Next few things:
-
1. After reboot very often CPU governors are changed.
2. Additionaly to setting governors: They are setting itself. Before I set nightmare/nightmare/powersave/powersave and after going back to menu and againd CPU Control it was nightmare/<last saved?>/powersave/powersave. Now after reboot it was nightmare/nightmare/nightmare/nightmare (with per-core on) and after menu->CPU Control nightmare/intelliactive/powersave/powersave (intelliactive wasnt last saved or anything)
3. Sometimes after reboot Pimp my Z1 returns GPU settings to default ones
4. Power Managments, I/O tweaks, Memory managments too - Misc on the other hand are always remembered correctly
Yes I have "set on boot" on. Strage coz mostly (4/6 for now) everything is remembered correctly ie now after next "test" reboot

I'm wonder if it is more the app than the kernel?
I have managed to peg the first core at fill tilt once and another time to have all 4 core online all the time. The second issue can be solved by turning all the options off in Power Management, it's a known race condition by the looks.
~5% battery drain over night, but it looks like google services are causing wakelocks again on my ZU
Its hard to say coz there is bo more apps which can let to use most od options kernel has (ie trickstermod let set governor for all, i/o too for both memories). But i would think its app+phone compatibilty issue not kernel, but not sure about it

Welcome to the first custom kernel for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.Providing instability to the masses since October 21, 2014
This kernel currently supports most North American carriers. Automatic selection is provided through the use of specialized recovery packages that will detect your device version and make appropriate adjustments.

Will be nice if you can provide two different build. One without all the fancy things that some people wont have use for, such as overclocking, close to stock as possible but still provide stability, smoothness, and better battery life.
Some kernel makers just slap everything they can onto a kernel and in the long wrong, it is simply instable or provide hicups (that they will never own up to lol)
Nice job twisted keep it coming...

I don't provide anything I wouldn't run on my own device. If you want it to be stock, vote for stock. If that is what wins, that is what I will build. It is enough to provide a single kernel for a bunch of devices without trying to keep track of per-device versions. I slap everything I can onto a kernel, test it, then delete or fix the broken stuff. My github is always current and anything I changed is clearly published to point the finger at whoever it needs to be pointed at.
Lol just throwing it out there , that is my vote
I vote like mgbotoe! Thank you sir!

Hardlimit by yank555 I'd like to see, along with your hotplug of choice, I like intelliplug myself, some govs, I usually stick with interactive anyways, maybe some mdnie controls etc etc. Lol I'm just tossing out what I enjoy..but, you tell me, what do you normally build in your kernels.?

You're starting to sound like the Best Buy reps when Windows 8 came out. At least before they had to start telling everyone 8.1 was coming to fix how terrible it turned out being once people started using it.
You have to run cygwin or an Ubuntu VM inside windows to build Android. You can run windows AND Ubuntu as windowed applications on Mac. Seems unnecessary when the real issue is consistency in the cm repos. The instructions say to get the Linux compiler ports, while detection identifies the platform compilers.
And fast change it you can

I don't know how good of an idea messing with the adaptive charging would be, but I'll look into it. It depends if that functionality is tied into the USB port charging or not.
It is great that you have done this work and I (along with a bunch of others) are really grateful - it would be nice if we could flash this -
Doesn't work with Odin - not sure about the other option you mentioned, I personally have never used that method -
So - any instructions you can offer would be great - unless you feel it is not appropriate to flash this yet?
Your help - and input is greatly appreciated.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I personally loved leanKernel on my Note 3 - all the latest fixes and improvements without 40000 things that only crazy experimenters and overclockers would use. I'd love a solid, lean, and mean daily-driver kernel.

Ironically, modifying imoseyon's kernels was how I first learned to build. I took his and added those one or two additional things I found somewhere else and wanted to use. Right now, I am working on getting intellidemand updated for this kernel, but I am only looking to get a few options that really work well so if there are better, let me know.
For the TCP congestion avoidance, it appears that enabling advanced options somehow broke selection. It appears to work just fine, but that troubles me. I don't want to force a setting for that, but if it comes down to it, I may have to limit the options.
Veno, from some documentation I've recently read, was the optimal option for mobile network performance. I believe it was reno that was best for wifi performance, but I have to go back and read up again.
I added some code for fast charge to be verified, but the layout is much different than most Samsung phones, so I won't know if it works until I attempt to blow up my phone.

Welcome to Quantum, a kernel built around the idea of performance and battery life through smart optimizations. Those who have followed my work on the Galaxy S3 will know exactly what to expect. All feature requests will be considered, and all bug reports should be accompanied by a logcat and as much information as possible, this helps out everyone and gets your problem resolved as soon as humanly possible. For now this is only for Lollipop GPe, but I may branch out to Sense at some point in the future.

Can't drop a name at the moment. But over at bbhyrids and one of the main maintainer and hybrids cookers. He was making some nexus roms while back.

Pwncakes, you look vaguely familiar...were you using LG OpT, HTC I4G, SG Note, or LG OpG ? I've seen your name before
Didn't mean to clog your thread w/ useless nonsense, but was entirely to lazy to message you (anyways thank you for the contribution) Anything in the kernel that would make it incompatible w/ 4.4 roms ?
Pwn! I ran your stuff exclusively on my s3. Great to have you here!
Has anyone used this kernel yet?

Great to see the old gang from the S3 moving over here, I still have more goodies left for everyone, I will release my interactive tunables later today. With these tunables I get around 4 hours SoT over a 2 day period, or around 10 in a 24 hour period.

The kernel will play nicely with anything as long as it's a GPe base. So Skydragon and others are compatible... this won't work on Sense ROMs and CM-based CAF ROMs yet.
downloading and flashing now. will report back later. thank you @PwnCakes193 for work and time. currently on spirit ROM , unlocked , superCID , s-off , latest FW , superSU v2.40.
nope. spirit must be cm based though OP doesnt mention. have to find another ROM.
