Hi all,
Hope I'm posting in the right place for this - haven't been on here for a while because I've had an iPhone for the last 2 years.
I recently ditched Apple and got an S3 but soon ran into the well-publicized clipboard issue, for which the only fix is apparently a factory reset. In my naivete I thought it would be a simple matter of a wireless backup to my Samsung account (through 'accounts and sync') and then a restore during the device setup. Only when I try to restore, it tries for a few minutes and throws back an error saying that the data couldn't be downloaded due to a network error.
I'm aware that Samsung accounts have a tendency to not work on setup and have to be removed and then re-added before they'll play ball - not an option during device setup, unfortunately.
I've not flashed any custom ROMs or anything yet, as I'm still getting to grips with Android again. So apologies if this is a bit pedestrian (the clue was in the title!), but I had some texts on there that have sentimental value so if anyone can think of a way for me to retrieve that backup from my Samsung account I'd be really grateful.
Thanks for your time,
Will
I have a Nexus 5, unmodified and unrooted on 4.4.4
I disabled background data recently because I was running out.
I noticed that the Google Now Launcher had a "No Internet Connection" box even when connected to home Wi-Fi.
I re-enabled background data and pulled down to refresh.
I now have no cards at all, when there were previously some old ones.
I have cleared data and cache of both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I have rebooted multiple times.
I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled updates for both Google Now Launcher and Google Search.
I don't know what to do at this point, other than a full device reset.
I am facing the same issue since morning
You can try deleting the home network and then reconnecting to it.
Sent from my XT1022
I'm having the same issues.. But remember, people were having this issue after last year's Google IO.
It's definitely an issue on Google's end. I'm having problems on both my Nexus 5 and iPad Mini...
Yeah, tried everything but still no luck. I wish google sends an update
I have the same problem on Nexus 4, (4.4.4). I hope Google will fix this issue soon.
I know its not a wrong thread to ask but I am facing this issue whenever I recieve call and using the phone, no option comes up to accept or reject plus navigation bar also hides. Can anyone please suggest me whats the issue. Have searched other threads but no luck.
Hi guy i can help you
Try to change/modify the Kernel ROM, or even change your Smartphone if you are under warranty
I have tried stock, franco nd elementalx.. In all three issue persists.
Has anyone tried a full device reset?
I got some cards. When I pull to reset, I get "no internet connection again."
Forgetting and reconnecting to the Wi-fi had no effect.
I'm having the same problem with my N5. Some searching seems to indicate that it may be due to Google Now's new "Google Now Everywhere" option, only officially available on the L preview, but unofficially by a hack here:https://plus.google.com/+AdamLawrence/posts/46A68S7Dytb
I installed the L preview and played with it for a few hours and enabled the "Google Now Everywhere" option, which I assume toggles some setting at Google, so that's probably how it happened for me.
Did anyone else try the L preview or use the hack above?

I used the hack, but Google Now Everywhere is supposedly rolling out to KitKat devices too with the latest update. But with the above person seeing an issue on an iPad tells me it's on Google's end.

I haven't used any hacks at all. I think the Google Now Everywhere thing might be it. Can someone link to what it's about? I haven't found anything specific by googling.

The latest version of Google Search, 3.5.14, has the OK Google Everywhere thing. If you're not on that version, I don't think it'd be what's causing the connection issue.

I was on that version. Downgrading Google Search has fixed my issue. Thanks for the workaround! Also, I was not able to get OK Google hotword detection to on the lock screen, despite being on 3.5.14...

Cool, well mine came back too without me doing anything.. so yay?
Hello.
Any updates or ideas about this error?
I have a device suffering this same. But by having installed CM11/12 all the time never experienced until go back to stock Motorola. Just to sold it and see the new owner told me about the problem, wanting to have his money back.
Version 4.2.x and lowers are working. Once the phone installs last 4.3.x or 4.4.x the problem starts.
Yes......This seems to be a bug.
I'm using Google Now with android 4.4.4, same issue.
Dear xda community,
I used to use Instagram on a daily base in order to follow a user's followers hoping they follow back. This has been working quite well, but all of a sudden Instagram started acting weird. Now, if I click a user's follower, it loads really long and loads a list of at least 2000.
Usually, there are 50 followers loaded at a time, at the moment it's 2000.
The other point is that it does not refresh anymore. There are still the followers of a few days ago while Instagram usually refreshes the list everytime you click it again.
It seems that it's a problem with the account. On another account, this issue is not occurring at all. But I also did not hit any limitations nor got any ban.
A user's followers list just won't refresh for me.
I tried with a hell lot of alternative Instagram browsers (including Instwogram & OGInsta+ released here) but nothing worked out so far.
Do you have any idea what could be wrong or what to try?
Thanks you all in advance and have a nice weekend
Did anyone experience the same problem yet?
Bump
I have got the same issue. I was wondering, did you change from business to personal account? I have tried deleting cache, uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. When accessing my account on desktop there seems to be no problem so its isolated to iphone/android account access.

I have a personal account, never changed it though.
Well, I tried to contact Instagram support but they only have some kind of ticket system where you do not get any response better than 'thanks for making us aware'.
Let me know if you find out a work around, I am desperately trying out everything as well.
Is someone facing similar issues?
Problem still persisting, I cannot seem to find a work around.
For almost 3 years now, around the time I purchased my Nexus 6 in December of 2014, I've had delayed notifications. I always thought it was a Nexus 6 issue but it seems I was wrong.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Having recently purchased a Note 8, one thing I was really looking forward to was no longer having these delayed notifications. From the moment I set everything up, the issue was and is still present - even on a brand new, unmodified Note 8 purchased directly from my carrier (Telstra, Australia).
This has lead to me to look further into the issue and to finally get to the bottom of what might be causing it and hopefully, get it fixed.
From what I can tell, pretty much anything that uses Google's Cloud Messaging, which I beleive is everything from Gmail to Facebook, Google+ and many others, the notifications will be delayed. Sometimes only a few minutes, sometimes much longer.
Anything that doesn't rely on GCM works perfectly fine. For example, if I use Nine (an Exchange client app) and connect to an Exchange server, those notifications are always perfect. I'll get notified within seconds of receiving the email.
My partner, who has the exact same phone (Note 8) as well as Gmail and Facebook setup, receives notifications instantly (within seconds) and has never had the issue on previous Android devices either. So it's not a carrier issue, nor a WIFI issue, nor a phone issue. It is something directly related to my Google account.
Has anyone ever come across this issue that has been able to successfully resolve it? I've seen a couple of apps on the Play Store that apparently let you fix the issue but you need to be rooted in order for the apps to run. This is simply not an an option.
Given all testing points to something Google Account related, where would be the best place to start looking for a fix?
NOTE:
- I don't use any battery optimisation or task killer apps nor anything related. Never have.
I've come across the following information. It appears as though it may be something to do with this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/fslYqYrULto/lU2D3Qe1mugJ
Although this looks promising, it doesn't really explain why it would affect some and not others. My partner who is using the same phone with the same carrier, connected to the same WIFI networks doesn't have the issue.

I've never had this issue before, but I've had friends that ran into issues similar to the one you've explained. I'll be sure to ask them what they did to resolve them, and get back to you when I know!

Thank you!
I haven't made much progress here however, I can confirm my carrier is actually taking the time to do some thorough research themselves and ensure there is actually nothing wrong in the background.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S8
I CAN write on all of my friend's walls when logged on from my laptop but I CANNOT do so from the android FB app. So to be clear, I am not blocked by anyone (that I know of lol). I have deleted data, folder and then the app, rebooted my phone and reinstalled the FB app once again to see if that would fix the problem but nothing. I still can't write on anyone's wall from my phone.
I know there are several people with this same problem. I posted on the FB community forums and a few have reached out asking if I have found a solution, alas, I have not. This bug has been going on for a while now and I cannot for the life of me figure out what is happening. Has anyone in here experienced this issue and found a solution to it?
