hey guys i know i am very late to update xperia neo v to stock ics build.... i am still on gingerbread....thats why i am having some doubts
i downloaded pc companion then connected my phone and it shows an update....so my question is that wether i could update my phone solely through pc companion or i need to use flash tool and download ftf file and all that stuff
if some1 could help me!!!

It's because of that the ics is not released for your territory yet !!
so you can download the ics from here if you have st25i :

As he said before,
Simplest way:
Download ftf of ICS.
Download and install flashtool.
Flash the ftf.
hey i have found an update for xperia P here http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/software/phones/xperia-p/ but it says your phone is up to date infact it is not. my phone has currently ICS installed. how to get official jelly bean please help.
I tried to check from "Update service " software it failed to identify when the phone was off, I pressed volume down key as per the instruction but still failed to identifed my fone. please help

Use pc companion and your phone needs to be turnd on. It can take a few days

SUS and pc companion gives same message that your phone is already up to date.

There are 3 methods to solve this:
1.) Wait for the update to arrive at your carrier/country
2.) Flash the ftf file via flashtool ( u can find the ftf in the Xperia p android development thread)
3.) Change your SI code and update via pc companion if your device is rooted(link for SI code: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40669182)

Hello , I have formated my xperia u and i have installed ics 4.0.4 in my phone with flashtool > Downloading XperiaU_ICS4.0.4_nu.ftf > flashmode >XperiaU_ICS4.0.4_nu.ftf seleted And install
is ok but my touche screen dont work :/
i need realy help to setup my phone to install ics 4.0.4 or JB please
I do not understand what is room what is kernel what is cwm
need setup rules to install android in my phone.

Download the Sony PC Companion, connect your phone to PC using USB cable,then click Software update,it will say you have latest update,click repair then,but all your data will erase.

if u are sure u did not do anything wrong
like flashing rom for unlocked bootlader or install FW of another device
then
Flashing stock Gb Will solve ur problem

Dude which Rom did you flash before you flashed ics Rom??
What's your native language? I think there's a translation problem in here.. If it's spanish maybe I can help you, if not, maybe someone else..
For now, this is what I'd do (step by step maybe this way it will be easier for you)
1. Save your ICS's ftf in here: COMPUTER / C: / Flashtool / firmwares
2. Open flashtool
3. Click on the ray
4. Don't touch anything and click on OK
5. On the left, select the ICS ftf and then click on FLASH
6. Wait for PC to ask you to connect your phone. When it does, press VOLUME DOWN button and connect it via USB while holding the button
7. Wait for the process to end
Please let us know how it goes and if you don't understand the steps above
I tried using SEUS and PC Companion but when i click on update or repair it says that there is no new software for my device ..I also tried flashing ftf via flashtool and it stucks at system.ini...HELP ;'(
On which build number are you? Is your phone working? Which phone do you have?

If you are on cm10.1 you have an unlocked bootloader and PC Companion and SUS won't work anymore
You have to use flashtool, try it again with another ftf maybe or update flashtool. If there's still a problem, post the log to show us what's wrong

I have xperia Sola with android 2.3.7 and when I check Software update through the phone it says it has the latest update.
so I connected to Pc companion and it said that there is new update but cant update because the phone doesnt support Win 8.
Any solution?

Use flashtool and flash newest firmware for Your phone.
Unlock the bootloader, install CWM and flash a custom rom, the ICS update has a lot of bugs...
