About CarbonRom and TeamCarbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project.
We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the
very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating
something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have
incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in

Sure, it runs pretty smooth, battery is not good as other cm rom (or I didn't try it long enough to know, this is initial build anyway). Just 2 bugs so far:
- Can't connect camera (I think that's the reason why you say torch not working), and I must open camera through lockscreen widget, because there's no camera in app drawer.
- FCs in About Carbon (not really important)

If you want a logcat I can give you coz I'm currently using this rom. But I'll switch back to CMX soon, this rom has some bugs (camera, weak vibration) and sometimes systemui restarts.

Yes, vibrate when touch hardware buttons is ok but keyboard vibrate and phonecall vibrate is weak. I don't know if I'm the only one has that bug.

MoKee OpenSource is based on the Google AOSP and CyanogeMod project. The source code is updated frequently to keep up with the latest development, and not forgetting to merge in special features at the same time.
The Mfunz Forums launched this project on the 12th of December 2012, and is committed to make this ROM better and better.
Since this project is open source, anyone interested can participate in the development. Newcomers are always welcomed!
Official website: http://www.mfunz.com
Types of Releases:
MoKee OpenSource has 4 kinds of releases: official release, beta, nightlies, and unofficial builds.
Official release: This version is tested throughly by developers and users, so it is the most stable build
Beta: When a device is newly added, there will be beta versions for testing, but there might be unknown bugs and problems
Nightlies: Nightlies are compiled automatically by servers, so it will have the latest features but beware of uncompleted works
Unofficial builds: These builds are compiled from source or ported by non MoKee developers
Official Releases:
MoKee Open Source supports many devices, but the developers may not have all devices in hand, so if there are device maintainers that can help out, the official releases will be decided by them, MoKee Open Source will only maintain the nightlies to ensure the usability of the ROM. However, for devices with no device maintainers, MoKee Open Source will decide when to release official builds or nightlies. Therefore, if you have a device maintainer, please get the official releases from your respective device maintainer's thread or nightlies from MoKee Open Source.

Yup.
My initial review is that the rom isn't too shabby. It's essentially CM with more features. Not too much, but enough. I like the active display. Keep up the great work! :good:

I'm using the ST version. After install I just used the APN settings I've been using (wap.tracfone) that are listed on their website. ROM is running smooth. Thanks for the port.
Sent from my SGH-959G using Tapatalk 2
I installed the rom and I use ST on the i777. Data seemed to work fine as did calls. The roms seems to be pretty solid. Only issue I noticed was trying to open the performance menu. It would FC. I only had it installed for a limited time but it does seem to run pretty well.
Works very nice. I'm loving the animations so much!
The only issue is the FC of the performance menu.
Which I could move more apps to the sd card too.

This was the same issue I had when I ported it to the precedent must be a ROM issue
For the performance control issue download this http://d-h.st/32a and copy it to system/app and set permission to 0644 and reboot,, sorry forgot to add it to the device tree to build
Hmm... it seems the majority of themes won't work. They keep crashing everything.
Also, tried to Refund an app from the Playstore and when it started uninstalling the app, the ROM just crashed and got stuck at the logo. Just minor bugs but will try the Performance fix.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
Q: HALP NFC doesn't work!!
A: We know.

builds up now sorry sorry
I've had Omni on my flo for a while now and love it, I got excited when I started seeing jf come up in gerrit and was wondering when this day would come. Thank you for working towards supporting this device!
edit
Just did a fresh install of this ROM. Couple issues I've already come across..
My screen after a restart won't go to sleep after the specified time or by pushing the power/sleep button.
Not sure if this is related, but I have enabled active display and got an FC error upon my first notification and had to battery pull.
Update: After turning off Active display I can now put my phone to sleep without issue.
So... I've read the 'this is what custom roms should be' press release three times now, and I still have no idea what differentiates Omni from other ROMs. Is it a custom interpretation of AOSP code, like Cyanogenmod, or features ladled over Cyanogen code, like most other ROMs? Does it offer any of the fiddly knobs of Paranoid Android, or is this going to be a feature-avalance like AOKP or PAC?
I know things are still early days for Omni, but what am I looking forward to when I flash your ROM?

OmniROM is based on straight AOSP code, if you look in the source on github, you will see that VERY few repositories are actually forked from AOSP at all (put external in the search bar for Omni's public repos). Omni is designed to have many features and options that are all able to be toggled by the user. Omni is about choices, and giving the end-user the choices to make the ROM function the way that THEY want it to. 99% of features added to OmniROM come with a toggle to turn it on or off, hence "choices" :good:
The changelog pretty much gives a breakdown of all the features, because since the first 4.4 build, i did not make any releases until we fixed some major issues. This ROM is just about 100% stable. I say "just about" because if I reported my actual experience, which is literally ZERO issues, on nexus 5 and galaxy s 4, people would hang me and start bombarding me with "well what about this error I have that no one else does".
Best advice, make a backup and flash it. if you don't like it, then just restore your backup. no harm no foul. but i'm willing to bet you stick on this for a bit. There are a ton of features that are unique to OmniROM that other ROMs do NOT have.
also, pretty HUGE status update will be coming tonight (hopefully) as well
I'm freaking stoked I've been wanting to try OmniROM!

I've been hoping that someone would bring this over to us so I could try it out. Been running it most of the day today with almost no issues. Haven't really had a chance to play with it a lot, but so far it's been pretty solid. It did lock up on me once when switching to ART (using the Banks gapps), but after reflashing with PA gapps and sticking with Dalvik I haven't had any issues. Battery life is solid, and having the extra kernel tweaks with the built in kernel is much appreciated. Looking forward to the updates, thanks!

Will this rely heavily on Xposed for customization, or is there an Aroma style solution in the works?

No, Xposed Frameworks mods will be up to the user to install and implement as they see fit. Generally, I think Omni has a fairly good amount of features already implemented, all with toggles to activate/deactivate, but as always, Xposed will be able to offer a little bit extra of things that we won't support out-of-the-box. I would be wary of using Xposed though, as you will need to ensure that the mods you are installed are updated for 4.4 Aroma will NEVER be implemented into OmniROM source, as it is not 100% stable and is not supported by all devices that Omni supports, and therefore would cause serious, serious issues. I'm sure people will make their own kangs of this eventually and there may be one with Aroma installer, but this will not ever implement that.
Also, some things to look forward to in the near future:
Omni File Explorer - OmniROMs native root file manager
native root support (you will no longer need to flash SuperSU in recovery)
OpenDelta - Omni's OTA Updater
NFC fix *properly*
Multi-Window
a big surprise in the next few hours

I would be VERY cautious of using ART as of now, it is still highly experimental in AOSP source and google needs to make a lot of improvements before I would use it standard
Thanks for all these update, it is greatly appreciated.. looking forward to the surprise tonight!
OMG we have Omni! Thanks so much! Let you know how everything's working tomorrow... glad to see your from Philly too :thumb:
Could disabling the 3-dot overflow be possible in a future update since this device has a capacitive menu key?

Android 4.4+ KitKat ROM built from CyanogenMod v11.0 source with lots of custom additions
The credit for the idea behind this project goes to DerTeufel1980, with additions from ThdDude, ad Cl3kener compiled using the Linaro-4.8.2 Toolchain for a super optimized build. Lots of tweaks under the hood for snappy response, great battery life, and the ultimate in customability. Over the next few weeks the ROM will evolve and lots of additions will be made. I plan on updating and maintaining this project so expect good things, as the ones of you who know me, know I'm all about getting you what you want...I hope you will join me on this journey to hell....

First of all a big thanks to @Abhinav2 for bringing this rom to our devices.!
I loved the overall UI of the OS which is certainly better than the vanilla look.
The rom is fairly stable for an Alpha build and have almost all things working as are in CM 11 builds.
Hellkat is amazed me for the amount of customization it offers.
I was surprised to see customization regarding init.d and build.prop tweaks...!!:good:
Hoping for a continued support for this promising rom..!!!
Keep up the good work. :good:
wow, such a nice rom! i like it.

Rom is working great. I'm a fan of blue so it's heartbreaking that this rom is all red.
But the features that this rom offers and the insane speed makes me stay with this rom, no doubt.

Linaro is a custom toolchain, the toolchain is what builds the rom... Cm uses google stock toolchain.... And we use Linaro because it improves battery and makes the rom smoother and faster

Oh, this is the first feedback that says that... Well, let it settle first.... i will ad it then
Very nice
For an initial release this is running surprisingly well. Everything I have tried so far works. The phone, SMS, MMS, LTE/data, notification light, themes & even the split screen option works. The performance options look familiar and the ones I have tried seem to work. The crimson mode works, I'm not a big fan of red but it is a nice touch.
It installed fine with PA micro modular gapps. The download of the ROM was very slow and took nearly an hour. Once I let the ROM settle in and rebooted a couple times it smoothed out and there are not any major lags and I have not had any UI crashes but I have only been running it about 4 hours.
I am impressed so far.
PS: I did find one issue. In settings about phone, if you click on axxionkat statistics then it will force close settings.
ok, new rom for daily use, thanks
well done dev you make it, keep razr rolling :victory:

It's a bug when gapps upgrade.
You can wipe /system and flash again(DO NOT flash gapps).
Boot your phone to system and setup.
Then, reboot to recovery and flash gaaps.
Does this work on the AT&T model?
I can't acces my recovery it always shows up for a short moment and then reboots.
I tried latest wtrp and philztouch.
---------- Post added at 06:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ----------
i flashed cwm recovery and now everything is working
I'll flash this tonight or tomorrow and than report back if I find any major bugs. The installation process is the same as every other rom I imagine, flash rom via recovery and flash boot via fastboot, right?
Every seems to be working fine for now. Very smooth and fast. And most of all, I love the AOSP look and the boot animation
EDIT: I just found a small visual bug: the text in the quicksettings, when small tiles are enabled, is cut (see pic)
is there maybe the possibility to:
1- set the soft-touch buttons to act as a notification light, and light up (steady, I don't need them to blink) whenever I have a new notification?
2- Be able to swipe from quicksettings to notifications by swiping on any empty area and not only on the bottom bar?
anyway great job!
Does swiping the notification available in app drawer like other devices? Im new to this device.

What I did was wipe data/cache, dalvik & system & then flash the rom & gapps in cwm. Then back to boot loader and flash boot.img using fastboot command.
I figured that my problem with swiping status bar is due to problem with top part of the digitizer. Solved by using launcher gestures.
Installed it today. Looks great, BT LE seems to work. That's what I was looking for. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Looks great, but can someone post about the battery life with this rom?
Thanks!
Four now battery life seems pretty goodto me, on par with viper I think.
Sent from my One X+ using XDA Free mobile app
Whats the performance like? Is it on par with carbon or better?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using XDA Free mobile app
I haven't tried carbon so I can't tell you, but performance is great for me.
But I've had a couple freezes, like one a day
Sent from my One X+ using XDA Free mobile app
Performance is good in my opinion i did not have any big problems the only problem I have is that sometimes I can not unlock my phone the buttons below lights up but nothing more so I have to reboot my phone completely. And there is a graphic bug sometimes when I go yo landscape mode, but I think these problems are normal for all KitKat roms
Sent from my One X+ using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Performance is goo for me as well. From time to time I have also the grapic bug going to landscape mode. Updated now OTA will see if it gets better. Battery life for me is poor. Everthing else looks pretty good. BT LE with HRM works like a charme.
