[Q] xperia U doesn't boot - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

hi guys,
I'm new to this and I probably made the most stupid thing!
No one is to blame but me.
I wanted to root my xperia U with software version 6.1.1.c.1.10.
After hours of searching and applying all these information in order to unlock the boot loader and installing adb drivers, fastboot etc., I decided to apply the kernel that I've found to the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-u/u-development/kernel-advanced-stock-kernel-t1688147
Since then I cannot make my phone boot again. All I get is SONY and a blue light that goes away after a while, but SONY stays there forever.
So have I complete destroyed my phone? Should I see if its flying through out the window? or is there a chance for restoring it?
Thank you for your time.

No problem.
Untill you get to the stage where you are unlockling your bootloader you can never really break an x10.
Just make sure you have SEUS and/or pccompanion on your PC and you can always fix your phone.
if you have any problems, just PM me

Start from the begining again, attach in flash mode and try again.
If it doesnt work, use pccompanion to flash 2.3.3 stock FW and try again

If that doesnt work just flash with pccompanion

hey thanks mate, right, ive redone it, unplugged the device after kernel downgrade, but then it says that i need to turn on unknown sources and debugging... how do i turn those on if i cant get it to boot to the main screen? am i supposed to boot the phone after downgrade, turn those on, turn the phone off, then turn it on and plug the usb cable in immediately?
thanks so much.

No, flashtool always says that when it has finished an operation...just go onto the next step
13/051/2011 20:51:45 - INFO - Now unplug the device and power it on
13/051/2011 20:51:45 - INFO - Then go to application settings
13/051/2011 20:51:45 - INFO - turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging
the tut you sent me tells me that i should plug the device in as soon as it vibrates when turning it on, so which comes first? i have tried both methods and cannot seem to get around this sony ericsson boot screen...

yes thats correct...but you dont have to let the phone reboot...if i remember rightly i had to do that bit a couple of times to catch it right....
just follow the instructions from the thread and dont worry what the phone is doing...
like i say, if oyu think you have made a mistake then you can repair your phone with pccompanion to have another go.
I am about for another 10-15 minutes then i need to put my kids to bed...but dont worry, if you cant sort it now, i will be about tomorrow to help you, just send me a pm
ok great, so do i actually not boot the phone at all after it says unplug and reboot the device and turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging, do i wait and then turn it on and immediately plug in the usb cable? thanks. and thanks again for the help.
because the thing is no matter what i do, the flashtool box does nothing, and the phone will not boot, sticks on the bootscreen.

[Q] bricked x10?

ok, devs and friends, i may be risking a ban here, i just can't find a similar case like mine through 'search'. Ignore me, ban me, whatever suits you.
Here goes; i have an x10, r00ted and the like, locked bl, tried a few fw's - all well.
then i tried a miui prime and flashed a lockedbl patch, as i thought i should.
since then i'm unable to boot, stuck at 'sony ericsson'.
no way i can access the cwm5 or xrecovery menu, the flashtool works at the beginning but then orders me to turn on debugging, which is impossible since i can't boot at all.
i hope someone will take the time to help me.
thanks a lot!
Locked bootloader patch..I am not sure but is that for phones with an unlocked bootloader to use a locked bootloader rom..or the other way around...
anyway..back to your problem.
Download pccompanion run it, attach phone to pc and click start in support zone.
It may say you have the latest software but their is an option to install anyway (Repair) phone..do that...
big thanks for the immediate response!
i've been trying to connect the thing but the battery won't even charge and when i managed to get through for 2-3 seconds, i had no luck with pccomp.
(btw, the locked bl patching was meant to be done - or so i thought, at least.)
i'll keep on trying tonight.
thanks again.

Xperia Ray Stuck on Boot Screen

I bought a couple of faulty phones off eBay with the hope of fixing them.
I have an Xperia Ray st18a that gets stuck on the Sony boot screen.
I can go into flash mode and tried updating. it appeared to go ok, no errors, but still stuck on boot logo.
I can't get into fastboot. The LED turns green and a battery icon appears on the screen for a moment. The only device that shows up in device manager at this point is a drive. I tried updating the driver to the one provided on the various fastboot threads here, but it says it's not for this device.
I suspect it's not getting into fastboot mode.
I've tried flashing stock roms using flashtool and they seem to flash ok, but still get stuck on boot logo.
Any ideas of what I can try?

But you are sure you installed drivers from flashtool folder -> drivers ? Cause normally it should work. Or the bootloader is locked and it's another problem...
To get fastboot working you must have sdk tools and here is the modified android_winusb file, that xperia devices are supported by fastboot. Maybe look there
Yea, done all that. It looks like this one has a locked bootloader and is SIM locked, so fastboot is disabled. So there's no way for me to get to fastboot as I can't get past the boot screen

But if it boots up until the screen appears it shouldn't b bricked...

I don't know excactly, but pc companion -> support zone -> I don't know. There is an option for repairing, don't know what it does, maybe give it a shot
But I think it'll just reinstall the stock rom again, cause you start with your phone plugged off and then you have to plug it in in flashmode, so I think it's like flashtool...
Just tried PC Companion. It updated the firmware no problem, but still getting stuck on boot screen
scotsman, are you able to boot? are still stuck at boot screen??? im having same issue too... tried flash kernel, rom... non works... (

Sorry, I ended up selling the phone as it was bricked and unable to be revived.
I have the same problem. I'm a noob, so please bear with me =). I was able to root the st18. It came with a gingerbread. I wanted to try and upgrade it so I flashed ST18i_4.0.4_T.ftf, got stuck on the start screen. It showed the new Sony logo then the sony ericsson logo then loops. I can go to recovery, however I'm stuck (yes, noob me). I have another st18 - can I use it to fix the other? If any can direct me how to fix it, I will be eternally grateful. =)

Any help or advice would be appreciated as the phone is mint and Id love to use it again.

[Q] Xperia Ray Boot STUCK!

Hello everyone i had a serious problem with my friend Ray (ST18i) . My friend said that his phone is freezing and restarting when playing some games, and then BOOT STUCK (not boot looping) at the SONY logo when gonna enter the system (when the screen light up) forever.
I already tried to flash stock firmware many times with build 4.1.B.1.13, 4.1.B.0.587, and 4.0.2.A.0.42 but the result is the same, i even thought that this phone is updated via OTA with unlocked bootloader so i do flash Xperia 2011 Range_FreeXperia_ALL.FTF by FXP and Xperia_Relock_bootloader.FTF . And the result is still the same. I even tried to repair via Sony PC Companion and Reflashed it via Sony Update Centre, but the result is the same.
The thing is my friend is just some average Android user that don't know and don't need to root or even unlocking his phone bootloader, so he's never did that thing. so i can't go to recovery (cause there isn't any) but luckily the phone still can go to flashmode and fastboot, and even showing battery chare image when charged in Turned Off condition.
I really need help from you guys to fix this issue, cause the other problem is, there isn't any Sony Service Centre in my city, and this phone isn't even bought with official warranty. I had some exprience with samsung, and many Xperia (Now using hTC though) but this is the first time i'm facing this kind of problem.
Thank you.
Have you tried unlocking the bootloader and flashing the stock kernel with cwm? Then i would wipe everything incl system and format the sd card (make back up to pc) so you have a complete empty phone. Afterwards try installing stock firmware.

Yeah i would like to try that too, but, correct me if i'm wrong isn't to unlock bootloader you need the IMEI code from the phone? and as i know it, to get the IMEI code you need to enter *#*#7378423#*#* or such in your phone dial and see the IMEI code there. After reading your suggestion, i come up with an idea to unlock it via someone else Ray Unlock code from SONY, is it a good idea?
When i reflashed it with flashtool, there isn't any sdcard and simcard in the phone btw.
Or maybe there's some way to do a full wipe without entering a recovery?

Yes it was successfull like always with the final word, Flash complete and please unplug your phone. and device connected in flashmode.
I'm about to try unlocking the bootloader first (If i can't locate the IMEI, then the test point way will do) and then, flash a stock kernel with CWM and do a full wipe first.
I think it's still early to give up, because i think there's still so many way to fix this thing rather than just flashing a stock firmware.
I hope many awesome developer like Doomlord or bin4ry will at least take a look at this thread

no there is nothing much fr us to do.
and if u would like them to fix it please contact them personally
I personaly suggest you to unlock your bootloader using the test point method rather than the sony method. That way you still have your original drm-keys.

UPDATE on UBL
Hi Everyone, yesterday i tried to unlock with 2 ways, the first way is with the SONY Official method even though the phone doesn't boot, i can get the IMEI from the back of the phone, and from the BOX (which is basically the same IMEI) and got the code from SONY. but unfortunately every time i'm in the final step i got : Remote oem unlock failed. And i'm sure i'm updated and using the latest Android SDK. i even tried to do fastboot command from other laptop but the problem still there. (Tried to google it for the same questions like that but what i got is only people that had a mistake in inputting the code number) Note: I already cross checked it for many times, that now in my inbox i had 5 same codes from SONY :silly:
Next is the Test Point with s1 tools method. But like always in the final step, i got another error which is: test point qcreceivepacket can't get packet start i tried to google it again (which is always leading me to XDA cause here is always the source lol) many people answered that same questions which is because the Xperia you're trying to root got a new version 2012 and something like that.
Note: I'm pretty sure the Xperia Ray i'm unlocking is Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes, because when it's still alive i already checked it via *#*#7378423#*#* and 1 more thing is because i already tried to unlock an Xperia Mini Pro that is Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO. Which is really can't be unlocked because the phone with that kind of status can't go to fastboot (always go to charging mode instead)
Maybe you can say i had a lot of experience with Android, but i'm just creating the forum account yesterday, so i'm still a NOOB here
which is why i appreciate all the help from you guys.
I'm gonna try Contacting the top Xperia developer (which is i still don't know how) ASAP
EDIT: Just read someone questions on Q/A General chat thread. That the reason i'm failed is because i haven't rooted my phone? Is it true to unlock you need to have a root access first? cause in my other Xperia (Active, Sola) i always root first before unlocking so i don't know if unlocking first will do.

eXperience Innovation TROUBLE

Hello
am not a developer or a super user,,,,i have a sony xperia sola (MT27i),,,i bought from a local shop unlocked(Egypt) if that matters!!
i followed all the tutorials i could find here,,,,but since most of the devs here ask us to use google and search more!!!!
i did that and searched till i got my phone bootloader UNLOCKED and also got it ROOTED!!!.......
the problem is when i installed this ROM or whatever it is (eXperience Innovation),,,,,,it seemed okay while downloading but it's not booting the system!!!
and keep on restarting the whole device!!!!!,,,,,so i can't get into the system!!!!
and i can't even put another stock firmware to get it back to default and restore it,,,because on my computer it can't really recognize my phone!!!
i feel really bad because things like that never happens to me,,,,and usually the instructions are more clear than that!!!
i really appreciate your effort everybody,,,,,but you need to be more friendly and offer alittle more instructions!!!! and also offer some options in case of things ****ed up like my case!!!!
i need your HELP ASAP,,,,,i can't live without my phone
and all i wanted is to get a clean system because it was super laggy before i unlock the bootloader
P.S: it was fast after unlocking the bootloader
:crying:
Edit:i found the solution
all what you need to do is downloading the STOCK FTF file(in my case it was MT27_6.1.1.B.1.54_Global) and put it in the c:\flashtool\firmware FOLDER
and then put your phone in flashmode (volume DOWN not up+power button) and wait for it to finish
it didn't work the first few times,,,,but when i restarted my computer it worked!!!!????
i have no idea why,,,,,but it worked and am so happy i have my phone back
