My phone was having serious problems few days ago. My z ultra misbehaved after I installed tudou app (similar with youtube). I cleared cache, dalvik cache, and factory resetted my phone. The problems still persist.
Problem:
Cannot play song (music, video, ringtone)
Cannot record video
Cannot perform incoming/outgoing calls
Cannot download internet setting
After flashing stock firmware and DooMKernel, the problems are still there.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2705130 (DooMKernel)
Anyone can help me? Do you think downgrading firmware can solve the problems as mentioned above?
Try flashing the full ftf then reroot. Use flashtool.

Nothing helps. Relocked bootloader, repaired using sony software.
Format /system and /data from recovery and see if that works. Note that this will delete EVERYTHING on the NAND (internal storage), so you'll have to re-flash a ROM after you've done it. Do not reboot the phone until you've flashed a ROM, or else you'll only get the Sony logo.

So since yesterday [i.e 28th April 2011], I am unable to download any apps from the market, I am running Void #echo. But strangely when I switch from wi-fi to 3G network, it starts after a bit and completes. But I am completely unable to download over wi-fi, it just says "download paused". I googled a lot and tried everything wiping cache from recovery, wiping market's cache, logging out and then logging in again in gtalk to no avail.
It's really irritating , if anyone could help me please.
try downgrading market to previous version
Did that, but it just updated itself to the newest before I could even download an app!!

than freeze market updater with some app
and downgrade market
Have u been flashing a lot of ROMs before this happened? I had a similar prob of not being able to dl anything frm the market. Then I tried reformatting my sdcard and flashing void again and that solved the prob give it a try

How about factory reset? That should also restore market app.

Void echo is the 1st and only rom i flashed. Should i try restoring a nandbackup? Flashing again means i will have to do everything again

this is one reason why I dont flash custom firmware. the phone works fine on official firmware, just like its supposed to, laggy with sd unmounts etc
Now my head i about to explode
Anyhow, I have an annoying problem.
Before the upgrade to XXALF6 I noticed no problem other than the known drainage of the battery in idle mode.
I rooted and flashed a ROM and it was ok.
But I got sick of the ROM and I hard reset the phone.
No problems.
Then I upgraded to XXALF6 - still unrooted and all.
First thing I notice is that the phone is lagging a bit now and then. Then when I sent and recieved an SMS or two the phone hung and rebooted.
I seems that happend because when vibration was active.
Also there was a new message saying "com.google.process.gapps" stopped working. And that came up again and again.
As far as I could find online that had to do with syncing the calendar and it should help to clear calendar cache in the phone. It did not.
Then I rooted the phone, just "CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4", no other ROM.
Now the problem was even worse and also the sound stops working on and off all the time.
I tried to find the "com.google.process.gapps" with a file explorer with no luck.
I do find it in ROM Toolbox but its not possible to see the where on the phone the file is even there. Also its not possible to uninstall or even kill the process.
I did notice there seem to be doubles of some apps that I didnt notice previously to flashing CF-Root this time.
And I recall the new guide never mentions to wipe any phone data whatsoever during rooting the phone, and now I am thinking that maybe that should have been in the guide?
Anyhow.. appreciate ANY tips at all, Im so sick of this for the moment ^^
Go to cwm recovery, wipe cash, wipe dalvik cash, wipe data/factory reset, then go to mounts&storage, format system. Then put your phone into the download mode and flash ROM again with odin. This should give you a nice and clean install, without any force closes..

I did wipe all things, cache, Dalvik, battery and user data with CWM.
At the moment it seems the phone is quite okay actually! The only thing left is SU.
U think I have to format system as well? What else would really be "cleaned" out that wasn't allready with the wipes?
Trust me,some of the devs insisted on formating system before flashing their custom roms, and I did have a bunch of force closes, until I decided to go their way and fully format the phone. It then installs everything from the scratch,so there's no way anything to go wrong.. give it a try,and report back... btw. make sure that you DO NOT restore any of the system data,if you use TB

Yeah I pretty much learnt same way as predja it is always better to do full system wipe, it is not always necessary with some roms but if you do it you won't come across the problems you have as often.

I have not been able to turn on my wifi after using ICS for few months and tired to fix the issue by reflashing the ROM. Tried many different version including customized one but did not help. Sent it in to Samsung for servicing and told them that re-flashing the ROM does not help hoping to get a HW replacement. Was told that the way they do it is different and they can wipe everything clean before re-loading the ROM. Btw using customized ROM did not void the warranty.
I suspect they did a low level format of the device. Now the wifi is dead again. Clearing data and cache using CWM does not help. Does anyone know what other way can I try to wipe the device storage?

EMP?
The SC people use Odin too. I saw it in a SC. They simply format your phone memory, do a factory wipe, and flash the correct firmware keeping the Auto reboot option unchecked.
AFAIK I don't think there is a low level format for S2..

Hello,
I have an Xperia sola with stock ICS rom.
I recently rooted and unlocked the boot loader of my xperia sola.
After that I ran Supercharger v6, Speedy Sola and AC!D Audio.
The camera worked fine before I rooted and unlocked the bootloader (while on ICS and back when I was on GB), but today I noticed that when I try to go to the camera nothing happens. I only hear a blink of the shutter and the screen goes black for a second.
I tried using Cyber Shot Mod but nothing changed, accept now there is no normal Camera app available, only the Cyber shot, which does the same as the stock camera app did (blink sound and black screen for a second).
I tried Flashing it to 6.1.1.B.1.54, nothing happened. Tried setting it back to factory but nothing changed.
I downloaded a camera app from Google Play and I can take photos there, but they are not as good and I would like to have my original camera app, as it was fine for me.
Please help.
Are you still using this rom with those apps installed? If so try a hard reset, if this doenst work try to flash stock ICS or GB rom...

Thank you for trying to help me.
As I wrote I already tried to factory reset it and flashing it back to ICS rom (with flashtool) but no luck.
After I did that it seems I still have root access, CWM is still installed and AC!D Audio is still there.
Do you refer to something different from factory reset when you wrote "hard reset"?
If not, do you have any other suggestions?
Then flash .54 tft again and do a full wipe (data), factory reset ang tick wipe data. You can remove sdcard if you want but everything from phone will be wiped, so bacjup what you want.

I apologize, it was my mistake. Accidently flashed kernel instead of full flash.
Fixed the camera.
THANK YOU EVERYBODY!

Hi there,
My SIII i9300 has been rooted and flashed with CM from CM 10.x to 11.x. Hoewever, recently it started to not give any audio during voice calls trough the normal mic. Speakers do work.
So, i've tried reflashing, clearing cache / dalvik etc. To no avail.
I then tried stock rom and for some reason this seems to do the trick.
As i'm not really a great fan of the Samsung bloatware and the 'awesome' skin overlay of samsung i would like to fix this issue.
I also tried some different roms to no avail. ( Also, i installed cm 10.2 because that used to be working fine)
I then tried installing different modems via CWM and ODIN. (BUELK1) and (CEEL1). It's a dutch phone on vodafone.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Btw, currently i'm running CM 11 nightly see below. Android 4.4.2
My baceband is currently i9300CEELL1
Kernel version 3.0.64-CM-gb1c5066
CM 11-20140228
greetinges, Volc
Try installing the ROM before wiping everything, including System ( data is recommended, as long as you don't have something important not backed up). And with 4.4 try to use MK6 modem or higher.

Hi Andry!
Many thanks for your reply. So I should turn back stock, install cm and that mk6 without wiping? I'm not sure if cm will install without the wipe..
The mk6 modem, do you have any clue where to search it?
Regards,volc

I thought you found the modems on www.boeffla-kernel.de . You can find them in the Download section. Also, if you are on CM11 (or any other ROM actually), you should download the ROM tog want to flash on your external SD Card, reboot into recovery, wipe system, cache, dalvik cache and data, flash the ROM, reboot system and use it for a few moments at least ( I would recommend you do that so that you won't get bootloop). Then, reboot into download mode, connect phone to Odin and flash the ROM. I would recommend wipe shading cache and dalvik cache, just for a flawless experience.

I saw this phone firsthand. (Hi volcomoo!)
The roms were flashed OK, double triple quadruple wiping probably wont make any difference.
The weird thing is that with CM installed there seems to be a hardware issue, when we flash the phone back to stock, everything works. I guess the developers will say "logcat or it didn't happen"....
