Hi. This is my first time on the xda developers forum. I previously browsed it to root my GT-P7500 tablet and it worked. Now I have a problem (not with the root)
The ICS update is NOT arriving to my country (I bought it from UAE) and I am stuck on Honeycomb, so I thought about flashing a stock ICS ROM. However, The available stock ROMs are for other countries and the Build number does not match the other ROMs I found on samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com. So is it OK to flash a ROM released for a different country? A good note I should leave is that the tablet is UNLOCKED when I bought it. Also, most of the files from samsung-updates and sammobile are bad (due to poor hosting sites) when I download them, and because I live in Egypt and the internet pretty sucks (1Mbps) it usually takes 4-8 hours to download a single file and in the end it turn out to be corrupted usually due to network error from the hosting site's end. if anyone has a stock ICS ROM for my Galaxy Tab GT-P7500 on hosting sites like mediafire or MEGA please post me the download link, though this is not my main concern at the moment.
Thanks

I have had my phone for 10 months and I have just started having hardware issues with it. There is a crackinling noise from the speaker during a call and now it says that my sim card is not inserted. i have established that these are 2 common faults with the early S2's so I want to send it off to be repaired before my warranty has run out. The problem I have is that I rooted the phone and I'm currently using Lightning 6.1 rom on it and want to revert it back to official carrier software but as Multiupload is currentl down i cant download the relevant rom from the thread in the development section.
As I am new i have to post my issue here, can anyone please supply me with the correct Official Orange UK Firmware. I made a note of the stock firmware which was on my phone before I changed it. --2.6.35.7-I9100xwke7-cl215725 [email protected]#2
So from what I understand i require a XWKE7 rom.
If anyone can help, either by uploading the rom for me or pointing me in the correct direction of a working download link I would be most greatful.
Cheers Guys

Try checkfus from the market as well.
It lets you quickly find what is the latest firmware from your carrier and then from the web site can download.
Check intratechs original carrier firmware thread and see if his links are working yet.
Good luck.

Hello,
This is a fantastic site with very knowledgeable people. You are all fantastic (Please don't flame me for being a numpty)
My question is, I have a SG2 that I got from dialaphone in the uk. I understand that even though it's on O2 it's an unlocked rom (tried diffrent simcards) I've tried so many roms and such I was hoping to get back to stock for the official ICS update.
I've trawled through samfirmware and this site and google to try and find the correct stock rom/firmware I need but I;m getting confused by the different UK roms and firmwares on samfirmware.com
Can one of you fantastic folks please point me in the right direction of the official stock rom for my phone, preferentially gingerbread. If it is an older version that would be cool too as I could then easily update via Kies.
Thanks lots in advance,
Henshu
By the way, sorry for the spelling.

Use Check Fus (http://fus.nanzen.se) to find the correct stock firmware.
Hi all,
As you can see here, there is unfortunately no ICS stock on sammobile.com for the french version.
However, there is one for UK version (and others). Obviously those versions have multiple languages, including mine.
So do you know why there are localized versions ? Are they mandatory ? (or could i simply take one from a neighboor country?)
Thanks all
You can surely flash UK version or Italian as well and when Installing choose Your own language.
I'm from Finland and my rom is originally Italian, no problems with language issue.

Try samsung-updates com
samsung-updates com has many Stock ROMS from various countries, which you can filter by device type. Unfortunately, I have been unable to download any from there since yesterday, as the download fails after a couple of hours.
If you can select the language you want using any country's ROM then I guess the country code just affects Samsungs OTA rollouts and which extra Apps come pre-installed and how they are configured.
Edit: I just installed the USA 4.04 Rom (XAB) on my Canadian (XAC) Tab. Since my Samsung account is registered to a Canadian Tab, Samsung Apps gives me an error if I try to sign in there, but otherwise it works. I'll put the XAC Rom on when I finally manage to download it.

Depending on your carrier/country, you may find what you are looking for here: at sammobile.
Sorry, I am newly registered here so cannot yet post links, so here is the butchered version wwwDOTsammobileDOTcomSLASHfirmwareSLASH

Thanks for your response, first my region is ireland, and I did check Sammobile, the firmware link on the website seem to be for registered members only. Tried registering several times but for some strange reason it keeps failing. I would like to know if I could do same download through Samsung kiers and the difference between a stock Rom and a stock firmware? Thanks

I'm on the 3IE network, and running the jellybean 4.1.1, I've it unlocked all these before I rooted my device.
Both 4.1.2 and 4.1.1 (and everything before that) are available on SamMobile for your phone.
I still can't post links so you'll have to de-butcher this, but that'll take you to a listing of firmwares for your country/carrier. Choose the one you want!

Sorry chucky17ng, I didn't read your post properly. For your purposes there is no practical difference between "firmware" and "ROM". And no, if you have rooted then Kies will bomb out saying your device has been modified.
Your best bet is to grab the firmware once your registration goes through (or source it somewhere else), drop the file onto your phone, then flash it with mobile Odin.
There are other ways, but I know that one works.

This is my first post and am completely new to smart phones, and have got out of my depth. I bought a new Samsung S2 i9100 from China about 6 months ago. The GPS stopped working (something I discover from another thread here, is not uncommon), and I tried to update the firmware using Odin.
This failed and the phone is now soft bricked as I understand it, as I learnt from another thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/how-to-replace-chinese-firmware-t1192575 ) that Chinese Samsung phones cannot be flashed with European firmware.
I have looked on samsung.com and Sammobile and the original firmware is not listed anywhere (I9100ZCKG4). I have tried installing, using Odin, CWM Recovery and the stock firmware listed on samsung.com for China, but both fail.
I have read the thread on this site on this issue and following suggestions from here this takes via Chinese sites http://bbs.gfan.com/android-2099143-1-1.html and then I eventually end up at http://bbs.gfan.com/android-4920184-1-1.html where I think there is a link to the firmware I9100ZCKG4. The link takes me to http://115.com/5lb/ and Google translate is unable to make any sense of this page, and I cannot get any further.
The other problem is that I think I enabled USB debugging before starting ,but now cannot be sure.
Maybe I have learnt and expensive lesson, but any help would be most welcome, especially if expressed in terms a beginner is likely to understand.
Thanks
Ian
