I installed the cyanogenmod 11. Wiped data/factory reset and formated sdcard. Now it doesn´t let me mount the sdcard. The phone functions well, except that it does not read the sdcard. What can i do?
On CWM recovery it marks me: Error mounting /storage/sdcard1!
I appreciate your help.

insert it on a computer and format it again to fat32 (if space < 32gb and you don't have files bigger than 2gb) or exfat.
alternatively you can aslo flash philz touch recovery and format it there again.

How can I solve it?
I can't boot my gs2 now!

I can't boot and can't read my internal sd, how can I flash another rom?
Using CWM, you can mount /sdcard.
Check mounts and storage menu.
Also try "Mount Usb storage", connect to pc and check if comp detects your phone.

Try flashing one of the rooted kernels using Odin.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Currentlyhaving the same issue.
This is a kernel issue. It happened to one of the 2.x Siyahkernel beta versions. Simplest solution is to boot the phone and use CWM to flash a different kernel using the tar format (instead of the zip format good for use in recovery mode) (flash a kernel version that's known to be without this problem).
If you can't get past the boot screen, just use odin. But then if you can't get past the boot screen you probably need to flash a ROM over anyway.
I am having the same issue with my internal SDCARD
I cannot access my internal SDCARD. When I insert my external (/removeable) sdcard, recovery sees that as the SDCARD.
I have tried to mount/ dismount/ usmount the internal SDCARD - same error.
THIS is the TMOBILE T989 and we got it yesterday - brand new.
So, I did get it to work from the removeble SDCARD, but I am so use to using the internal SDCARD on my VIBRANT as the primary resource for ROMS, etc, and the external SDCARD as a backup - that it is kinda strange to work now with only one SDCARD (the ext).
It must be something in the recovery that does not see the primary SDCARD...
CAn anyone help, please?
Note that CWM 4 and CWM 5 behave differently with respect to internal and external sd cards (well CWM 4 simply doesn't do external sd card). It'd be your best interest to flash a kernel that comes with a CWM version 4.x.x and for sure internal sdcard will work.
In CWM4, internal sdcard is /sdcard. External card is /emmc. (you can only format external sdcard but not write to it nor mount it.
In CWM5, you can restore nandroid backup from internal sdcard (but you can flash updates from both) . And in the CWM app, default backup location is the external sdcard.
Those who are having problems with CWM 5, flash this version of CWM from your CWM!
http://www.mediafire.com/file/h1yia0gt1sbnbie/cwm-4.0.1.5.zip
You will have cwm 4.
I started up my Gtab today (running ICS 4.0.x), and it keeps popping up stating "Encryption unsuccessful
Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result the data on your tablet is no longer accessible.
To resume using your tablet, you must perform a factory reset. When you setup your tablet after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account."
WTF?
I tried booting into recovery mode, but it hangs after stating "Recovery key detected, Booting recovery kernel image"
That's all it does....
Any suggestions on how to correct this?
Thanks ahead of time...

1. As the message says you'll most probably have to do a "wipe data/factory reset" in CWM. Run the command in this post.
2. Which version of CWM do you have?
Im not certain what version CWM is but it was the most up to date at the time. I cant access CWM as it sits now.
Should I try to use NVflash to rerun the Full_Stock_NVFlash_CWM_5504_Touch-1, just as I did before I installed ICS?...then reinstall the rom?
I can not access CWM...it locks up after stating "booting recovery kernel image"

The usual reason for that error message on ICS is a corrupted /data partition. To fix it you'll have to do either a "wipe data/factory reset" or a repartition the internal SD card in CWM.

The most common reason for that is
a) using the wrong version of CWM for the bootloader installed on the system--ie. using a recovery containing a 1.2 kernel on a 1.1 bootloader or vice-versa.
OR
b) a corrupted recovery partition.
To fix both on ICS--esp. if you've used the nvflash package in the TeamDRH ICS OP--try reloading only CWM-5.5.0.4Beta15 using nvflash.
Can you tell me what you were doing before all this happened? I can understand the /data partition becoming corrupt, or, the recovery kernel being the wrong one (or the partition being bad), but, I can't figure out how both can happen at the same time without something explicitly being done to cause it.
Not sure if it helps but I am also getting this error, I will update as I attempt to troubleshoot.
ROM: G_Harmony_ICSv1.5(120)(SuperCharged) (4.0.4)
CWM: 2.5.1.1-bekit-0.8
I got both errors but the second was solved by unplugging my computers USB cable from the g-tab.
(I can not access CWM...it locks up after stating "booting recovery kernel image") SOLVED
Steps:
1. From the settings picked factory reset loose all data and SD card data.
2. Reboot to recovery (CWM).
3. Formatted the internal SD card and ExSD card using CWM.
4. Mounted SD card on computer using USB cable connected to the G-Tab.
5. Let windows format the SD card. (Was this bad?)
6. Loaded ROM.zip file over to SD card from computer.
7. wipe data/factory reset.
8. wipe cache partition.
9. install zip from SD card -> coose zip from sdcard -> G_Harmony_ICSv1.5(120)(SuperCharged).zip
10. Install.
11. Reboot.
12. Error screen "Encryption unsuccessful Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result the data on your tablet is no longer accessible...." "Press this button to do a factory reset"
13. Press the button to the same results.

UPDATE 1:
When I did a rewipe i found that when i did the data wipe is said:

Could it be that when I used my computer to format the SD card I did it wrong?
UPDATE 2:
I was browsing around the CWM options and I found:
advanced -> Partition SD Card
Click to collapse
So I did that and then a data wipe again, and this time it said:
-- Wiping data...

Formatting CACHE:...
Formatting SDEXT:...

I am hoping things should work now, I picked 2GB with a 0MB swap.
UPDATE 3:
Ok... should have figured that deleted my SD card files including my ROM "G_Harmony_ICSv1.5(120)(SuperCharged).zip" so I mounted it and copied it over again.
(I also did some mounting and unmounted and may have lost it there.)
UPDATE 4:
IT WORKS!! fixed, must have been because I formatted out the data partition, but CWM fixed this for me!
I hope this helps others with the same issue.
Hye everyone, my name is toby and I have a question..
Long a go after I bought sgs2 I try to remember, I think I've formatted this phone once using my laptop via usb. I plugged the phone, right click on my computer and format, I think it was NTFS file system. do you guys think this will have impact on the phone performance r/w or ROM? or will the sd partition won't work at all?
I'm asking this because I have installed ROM's and It lag and crashed a few times.. I think maybe this two connected.
Thank you..
p/s:f5,f5,f5,f5 waiting for some rom to update.
Yes the two are likely to be connected. If you formatted your sdcard as ntfs then I would presume that it is using the ntfs support in the Linux kernel to access it. However, NTFS is not a light fs, it is intended for heavy duty file work, and definately not suited for mobile devices. I'm not surprised it's causing your phone to lag.
I suggest you enter your phone's recovery mode and reformat your /sdcard partition, and if you have CWM just to be sure, do a full factory wipe, and format ALL partitions in the advanced section.

So... everytime I wipe cache partition in cwm recovery mode, it reformat my /sdcard? so, I have nothing to worry right, because I always do the 4 steps of cleaning before installing, sorry, flashing new rom.
No. Wiping the cache does exactly that, wipes the cache. If you do wipe the cache, you'll find the first boot after you do it will take a bit longer than normal while the cache is rebuilt.
If you want to format your /sdcard, you need to go into mounts & storage in CWM.

Need Help with cwm
Hye, I can't find format /sdcard option in cwm Mounts & Storage Menu..
only have this formatting option:
format cache, system, data, secondrom_cache, secondrom_data, secondrom_system, external storage, internal storage.
and I can't mount /sdcard it say Error mounting /sdcard!
I am using CWMR Touch 5.5.0.4 btw.
P/S:Im not using any external mmc.
So, I was being an idiot in CWM and I formatted EVERYTHING. /system, /dbdata, /cache, /data, /emmc, and /sdcard. The reason I formatted is because I was getting OCD about my device because factory reset/wipe didn't wipe anything at all and I wanted a clean slate. Now, I am stuck in an endless boot cycle and I have no way of mounting the internal sdcard. I tried using ADB to push RemICS-UX to the internal sdcard, but it didn't work. I can still access CWM, and I am running v5.0.2.8.
However, I am able to mount /emmc, but I don't have an external sdcard, yet. Is there any possible workaround to mount the internal sdcard or USB storage?
Dont worry
go to egryits rom , select odin download. Let it download.Download odin, open the rom in odin . Put your gplayer in download mode and flash the rom! Good luck! Dont forget to wipe dalvick and cache in cwm
Happened to me twice LOL
In CWM the sdcard is mounted at /emmc and the external card is detected as the USB storage. The Odin solution should work, but try pushing a ROM to /emmc and flashing it. Everything should be back to normal as long as you didn't format efs

I tried wiping via the cyanogenmod recovery.
The situation is still the same.
What is also odd, that I cannot use my camera or gallery and I get a "no storage" message or "insert SD card".
However, if I install an app, it works....
I'm kinda lost here.
Should I revert to the 2GB system before the repartitioning ? Maybe this is the problem ?
Maybe I should try to mount the USB storage ? (If so, how do I do it ? I can't find my clockwork mod recovery screen)
Thank again

With TWRP, you can change the filesystem type from the wipe menu for your internal storage. After repartitioning you should format your internal storage or else you will have this no storage error. Format your internal storage to ext4 or fat. Do not use exfat as I had some problems accessing it from my pc.
As far as I know, apps are installed to your system partition so you wont have problems with that but if you try to download or take photo (something that writes to the internal storage) you will have no storage error.
EDIT: Use fat because you might have problems with ext4 on windows.

I did format my internal storage after repatitioning to the default format...
If I understand correctly, you suggest that I redo the process:
1. wipe data/cahe/delvik
2. install TWRP
3. Repartition
4. Fromat internal storage to ext4 or fat
5. Re-install cyanogenmod
6. Everything will work fine...
Right ?

Don't wipe anything. You dont have to repartition again.
Go into TWRP (if you dont have it, flash a ROM with TWRP recovery.)
Wipe>Advanced Wipe> Choose Internal Storage from the list >Repair or Change File System>Change FIle System>Choose FAT
