Nexus 4 issues with app: GoKeyboard
Hi, Please read on. I'd really appreciate it.
I have the Nexus 4. I thought I would get a keyboard that wasn't the regular one. So I went on the app Go Keyboard, got a theme, got emojis, and then I saw something.
Fantasy Text
So first I thought it was a type of Chinese writing, so I got the Chinese extension. That didn't work, so I looked in every settings panel, and I found the extension to get actual fantasy text. You know, the one where each letter is in a circle? Thats the one. I enabled it, choose which one I wanted, and I thought that was the end of it. But it wasn't. First, I couldn't figure out how to get to the place to type in fantasy text on my keyboard. I still don't know. Any help would be much appreciated. Second, each time I would open GoKeyboard to type, it would give me a notification that read exactly like this:
Enable Fantasy
It would be in my status bar. So I would pull the bar down and it would say:
Fantasy Text status : on (Click here to fantasy mode setting)
I was confused, because it said it was on. So I clicked, but each time I did, I would end up on the same page that I used in the beginning to set up the text. It would say on the top: Fantasy Text Plugin. Then it would give you the two bars. The first would say: Enable Fantasy. Under it it said: ON. But you had to check a box on the side to turn it on. It was checked. The second box was simply a drop menu of all the fantasy text. I am pretty sure the two are related. Anyway, I know this isn't an app forum, but if you have any insight (since i am on an android device) it would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time!!!

Hi,
I had my Nook tablet yesterday and first off I rooted it. Installed market and got a few things up and running.
There seems to be a couple of teething problems.
Main one is ghosted menus, in many places a menu pops up and both the background a writing are the same colour so you can't read menu items! Does anybody know how this can be fixed? It's a real problem in some places.
The second issue is that the market hides a heck of a lot of apps from the nook tablet, does anybody know how to get them to show?

Regarding the ghosted menus, this is a known issue and is discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356514&highlight=white+on+white
Unfortunately, no general fix has been found. Some people have noted that if you long-press a menu item, the highlight makes the text visible. If you don't want the item, drag your finger off of it (while still touching the screen).
Regarding the market issue, yes, there is a way to get many other apps to appear by adjusting your build.prop file, namely set the DPI to 160. The thread that discusses this is here:
GApps on the Nook Tablet
Specifically, the post that mentions how to "open up" the market is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19600579&postcount=49
This post goes into even more detail with trying to "spoof" a Nook Color:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19816719&postcount=153
Two things of note - be sure to back up your build.prop before modifying it. Secondly, just because an application shows up in the market doesn't mean that it is considered "compatible".
Addendum: Just saw this post which gives even more information about app compatibility and the Android Market:

Last night I has 3 minor annoyances with my Incredible, but really android in general.
1. When entering text in an input field in my browser (Opera), like a username or searching @ google.com. When I enter text that is longer than the input box I can't see the text in its entirety, I have to scroll left and right to see it all.
Are there any tweaks to enlarge the box or something like that?
2. When I search for a word in a webpage the keyboard takes up 4/5 of the screen and it's very hard to see the text. If I click into the website the search box gets hidden and I have to go through the menus to get to it again. I feel this is a keyboard issue, maybe a resizable keyboard or one that doesn't take up so much room when searching.
3. When I get linked to youtube in facebook, it will usually launch it with my browser and take me to the mobile site. When I want to email the link it always uses the mobile version of the link, is there a way to always send the regular youtube.com link without having to view the desktop version of the website?
Does anyone have any ideas?
For #1 and 2 you can type into the address bar, go back out of keyboard, and the cut and paste to desired text box.
I just saw (by sheer accident) a box pop up when I was about to reply to a text that I had just received.
I had never seen this box pop up before so I don't know what I did or how I touched the screen or just why the box appeared.
I should have taken more time to read the four options in the box but as soon as I read the "voice option to reply" I touched it and sent my first voice (printed) message.
The box had four choices that were arranged in a square pattern: not in a list. It was a very small box.
What did I do to bring that box up?
I can't get it to happen again.
Dan
Evidently few if any people have seen this little box jump up before when texting.
I wonder if a developer would be kind enough to offer some insight to a newbie?
Ok.....I should have taken a screenshot of this box: but I didn't.
And I can't get it to reappear no matter what I do..
A dev knows all about what I'm referring to.....but it may be way down at the bottom of the list of interest.
Although we've heard it said that "there are no dumb questions" : that is usually said by people who already know the answers and they are being nice.
I don't like to leave posts at xda that make little sense and then when I find out what my inexperience left me wondering about just never follow up.
Who knows.....maybe someone else is also curious as to what I was talking about.
The "box" I was trying to access again was simply a Swift Key 3 keyboard stroke that allows you to shortcut a text message.
The SK3 symbol on the keyboard is the stroke I accidentally hit and was not prepared for (or had ever seen) its pop up prompt.
Hi all,
I have an issue with the "right click" on the halo keyboard. Before I have chatted with fb support from Lenovo.
Their solutions were: 1) try with the rectangles on the side from the touch pad on halo keyboard (picture). My answer: I don't have rectangles, just 5 dots (picture)
2) You see the five dots below the space bar? the dots in the middle is for you to scroll up and down, left and right. You will start movie from the middle then move towards where you want to scroll. The two dots on the left and right are for the click. Try it. My answer: I'am trying to correct a word wich was misspelled using the option "right click" on it. But following these steps, seems like doesn't work
Now you know what I have tried. Is there an option a I didn't see or try it before? any hotkey? or crtl+? lol
Thank you!
Last update from Lenovo:
Sorry about that. Windows does have the left and the right click, however the android version does have the scroll only. You could try holding the option from the screen then see if you will get options popped up.
My answer: **** I would like to ask to someone from the IT (I don't know if this is the way to do it).
It is very important when you write or efit not to switch from one to another.
Is like having a mouse and the touch pad, to do certains things you have to switch from one to another.
It is ok, there is solution for the issue. But it is not correct, there is a correct way on windows, but need to be also on this kind of device too.
Please if its not here to elevate this complaint/ask, tell me where to.
Thank you
Sorry for your lost time reading this, but might help someone else with this issue
If I am trying to reply to a post on a website forum, youtube or anything that has a lower textbox, when I tap into the reply message box the keyboard comes up but as I type the textbox stays at the bottom of the page and I can't see the text that I am typing in. Is this normal? Is it like an android 8 issue or is it just LG or me only?
Sorry if this has already been addressed and thank you in advance for any input.
Edit:
I've found what the problem was. It's the system UI tuner app that I'd downloaded from the play store. Once you enable the "immersive mode" to hide either the status bar, navbar or both you want see a textbox. So everyone knows.
Issue is back again after half of a day after factory resetting the phone.
