What is the point in ICS? I mean, what advantages will be there for Endusers? Is it just the Fact that it is possible to develop it? What will it mean for those (like me) who don't know much or nothing about this?

They say its one OS both for tablet n phones.. combines pros of gingerbread and honeycomb ...
--> hardware acceleration by default ( i think )
--> better multitasking
--> new UI ( smoother )
--> new font
--> better browser ( read somewhere )
--> face unlok ( NT FOR ACE USERS )
--> updated camera
--> nfc

If by "nfc" you mean near field communication technology, the ace will never have that because it doesn't have nfc chip.

I didn't mean to offend you, i'm sorry I just made it clear so there won't be people hoping for nfc magically appearing on ace
The only thing i'm actually looking forward from ics is a faster and smoother phone. For our ace all the other stuff don't really matter since it can't support them.
It's like saying the new windows for pc will recognize up tp 16mb ram....but my pc can't have more than 4mb (random example, i don't know how much ram windows 8 will recognize)
Still, "our" devs working for ics on ace are awesome and they got a difficult task in their hands.
Random restart solution?
Ok, it looks I've fixed the "random restart problem" related to baseband.
- Flash stock KPP via ODIN
- Format /system in CWM, wipe data
- Flash ICS
Now I'm running on Alpha 10 + KPP baseband without any problem.

I've tried KPH, but I'm getting reboots with this baseband, too.

wayland says its faster than 4.0.1 but animation lags .... he is fixing it and hopefully it will be better than 4.0.1 when fixed........ but 3g is working in his and not in slaid's 4.0.1......

working good, oda then cam
there is prob with bightness(its decreasing aftr locking n unlocking the ph )
n cnt reboot into recovery with reboot into recovery opt.
if i find ny more bugs ill report .

for brightness,set it to full bright,lock your phone,unlock and then is autobrightness.thats why its decrease.
for camera take these files from your phone and replace these in cm rom:
system/lib/libcald_hal.so + libcald_pal.so + liboemcamera.so
system/usr/semc/camera/*all files*
it may work,maybe not!

I tried "liboemcamera.so" but it failed
other files are nt present in stock NeoL
Dude !! I guess there prob with deep sleep too ,
I had gone to sleep with 80% batt n in the morning there was only 6% left ...

I have patched to bfs scheduler to the kernel try that.. btw I have seen the battery drain.. The same I observed at CM9 with my LWW.. I have to see if its a kernel issue or ROM..
Battery consumption with mine was around 15% with no wifi no data at night... with BFS patched kernel.. with Smartassv2 governer..

I just installed mummydroid v3.1 in my x10..
It reverses the uses of options & back button ( as it was said in the thread page) ..
But i feel better having the same old way ( having back button for going back )..

I too had d same prob...i had stock kernel n stock firmware, then i flashed JellyBlast n lost IMEI...then i flashed Rafael.Baugis kernel -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1818830 , you can download d kernel here... http://bit.ly/13qLmpU & http://bit.ly/10d3AF9 ....& flash 'kernel-201211201515-E3-boot.img.zip' & 'modulos201211201515-modules.zip' & dnt reboot betw d two flash...n got back my IMEI..see if it works same for simplicity v5, just flash the OTA update 5.zip from the ROM's thread, for ,adrenaline boost v3 , refer thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542602

Hello after many hours of searching , i found rom worked in my phone (' Samsung Galaxy Star GT-S5282 ")
but there is some problems :
1- back button doesn't work and the menu button also just home screen button works .
2- i think system reslution is bigger than screen resolution .
3- camera and some programs not found .
4- about camera : while screen in locking , you can switch to some screen and there is screen is owned to camera and if you open this screen you will receive message erroe "can't access to camera" .
5- i think that is there some button not show because of problem (2)

it's built from source.. and it works on GT-S5282. though i also have built a s5282 kernel to work on this rom..
if it was custom roms/ stock mod it would be stuck 4.1.2
