I wish to create a NavBar replacement sort of like a floater and need pointers on where to start......
Sort of like Pie Controls and a Toucher combined in some sort of idea I'm having.
I want to know where and how I can start.....
I think maybe I'll need xposed and standout libraries.
But just some pointers in general on where to start coding from and how to do it
coz I believe this project will need root capabilities and I have only developed a basic textbox and spinner database projects uptil now.

Hello everyone,
I will appreciate and will be very thankful for your thoughts concerning the following-
I am an animator with zero android programing knowledge.
I was thinking about creating and selling (on the android market) unique animations that are meant to be customized as a lockscreen.
As I do not really familiar with the programing world, I was wondering if there is a way/place/platform where I will be able to provide such animations so people will be able to buy and customize them within an already built app that enables such customization option( and even better, for other options as well, like- live wallpapers, splash animations, boot animations etc')
While looking on the web, I came across with people who sell lockscreen themes that are built upon "known" apps that enable lockscreen customization, but as I am new to this world I do not know how to do such thing as well as how to sell such app/themes.
As I only create animations(I export them as video files and able to convert them to any format necessary), I will be very happy to know if there is a simple solution to the above without the need to deal with programing but to still be able to somehow offer my work on the android market (or in other ways)
Thank you, in advanced, for any advice that might solve that challenge.
Kind regards,
I.
First post, but I did my research and couldn't find anything similar.
I'm wondering what the feasible limits are of editing Android. Here's the situation:
I'm thinking of buying the Sony Walkman Z, but would want to create a new interface to make it more music-centric. Would it be possible to create a rom/skin/theme which would act almost nothing like android, but still run android apps?
something like this:
homescreen is fairly normal, clock+link to internet.
swipe left launches music/video app(which I'd like to make custom too, just a pipe dream)
swipe right is list of selected apps (not anticipating having more than the 16 one page could display)
swipe up displays full list of apps (like normal)
shortcut keys work as normal.
don't really need notifications(no texts/calls, don't tweet) so top bar can go away. really that's it. minimalist so as to keep the music the main focus.
A: is it possible?
B: is the skill level required ridiculous high?
C: are there any developers out there willing to take on a challenge?
Thanks so much,
GrIdiot
hi I am new in programming for android but I have experience with .NET programming so I would like to use Xamarin.
I am trying to find some example of DataGridView (something like Excel table). Fixed header and ability to move data horizontally and vertically.
I am googleing few days and I found just java code or just ListView not like table grid.
I am realy new in it. I am working on my first app for android but I am able to use some working code in my app but I am not able to create my own DataGridView.
So if somebody know some opensource project with DataGridView (like Excel table) written in C# for android let my please know.
Thank you
There is a beautiful opensource software to maintain your 2FA passwords, I would like to ask to help me in porting it on our watches, it will be really great to have access to 2fa world from our watches (mips architecture i believe). Your thoughts, help, comments are appreciated
h__ps://freeotp.github.io/the link for this software
Try to change theme of application in manifest to @ANDROID:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen and replace button for adding datas from action bar to main layout. Very simple
I have done some basic Android dev by creating a simple app that is basically like a website.
Enter some data on a "form", button does some logic based on the form data, and displays output in a ListView or RecyclerView.
This is basically a "website" that happens to be implemented as an Android app.
I would like to do a tutorial that showcases mobile specific features like touch screen, accelerator, etc.
Anyone have any ideas?
Also, is this the right forum to ask coding specific questions?
