*PLZ DELETE* drops network connection during calls - Motorola Photon 4G

--------wrong section... sorry--------- (can't find the delete button on edit/delete option)
Hey guys
Got me sim modded photon q on ebay.
Thing is, it keeps disconnecting voice calls and losing the network (and then not finding it again until restart). No problems with internet.
I'm using CM11 on congstar germany (aka t-mobile)
Things I've tried:
Resecuring the sim
Toggle NFC, wifi, bt
Got any ideas?

[Q] 318: no data during call?

I was on a lengthy call last night, and found that during the call my 3G/GPRS/Edge data didn't work (wireless did).
I thought he GSM/3G phones were capable of keeping the dta connection while in a call? Is this operator dependent (SingTel in this case)
Sounds like you were already on wifi when the call was placed. Why would data work if wifi was on?

No, wifi was of when the cal started, so my profimail used cell daya to connect.but while in the call that failed, until I turned on wifi
Tested again today. I started the call while on Wifi, then turned that off, and cell data did not allow any connection to go out. bummer.

Cant find 3g network

Hello everybody. After I moved from android 2.3.5 to 4.2.2 my phone stopped searching 3g. In only 3g mode there is no connection to my operator and any other network. Can someone help me to solve this?

It was already done. MMS is working, Edge is working. 3g is not working. My friend has Sensation XL with the same operator and at his phone 3g works well. So the problem is in newer radiomodule or in newer android or I'm handass and done something wrong). Wifi works good and network type is Wcdma prefered, but there is, in service meny, type of network is EDGE. Any 3g in any caces.
Ok, thread can be closed, my provider something changing in towers and 3g isnt available for this moment.

Mobile settings - impact on voice calls / reception

Hi, sorry if this is a frequently asked question. I have a new edge and was originally on a 3g sim only plan and all was well. Last week I switched to a 4g sim only plan (BT Mobile). Since then the reception around my house has been really poor, and voice calls almost impossible.
Looking though the settings the only difference I saw was --> Network mod, changed from to WCDMA/GSM (auto connect) to LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)
If I change this setting back to WCDMA/GSM (auto connect), voice calls / reception in the house if fine (but now 4g is switched off for data).
I don't understand how to trouble shoot this. BT Mobile confirmed good 4g out doors, poor indoors for my address, but I don't understand why voice calls are not so poor. Please could anyone assist in explaining why the phone behaves this way and if it is a hardware fault or perhaps just a software / deisgn issus
Thanks

3G/H+ on SIM 2

Hello all. I decided to ask my question in a non-ROM specific thread.
(Mods, please move if necessary)
I'm looking for a ROM which has 3G or H+ service on SIM 2. Let me explain my situation:
-SIM 1 has my main Rogers Wireless SIM which I use for work: LTE/H+/3G data, voice, MMS/SMS.
-SIM 2 has my secondary Fido SIM which I only need for MMS/SMS and occasional voice.
In my particular area of the country, Rogers & Fido both have scarce LTE coverage, and ZERO 2G coverage - this means that I'm frequently on 3G or H+. Furthermore, I take this to mean that seeing as I am not using SIM 2 for data, I should only expect to have 3G/H+ coverage for voice & SMS.
At some point in my progression of OS upgrades, I became unable to use my second SIM; there is simply no network connection. My phone recognizes the SIM, but there's just empty signal bars. I have tried swapping SIMs (Fido in SIM 1 & Rogers in SIM 2), and I still get full bars on SIM 1 and no bars on SIM 2.
I have tried many available N ROMs, including AOSP & CM14.1 based, with no luck.
I would appreciate help with the following:
-is no signal on SIM 2 a Nougat problem? Or a particular type of OS?
-is my assumption correct, that I need 3G/H+ for voice & SMS only on SIM 2?
-can anyone point me in the right direction for a fix?
Many thanks!
Ken
Umm.... Wrong section buddy... AFAIK SIM2 doesn't support 3g/H+
EDIT: Reported,, should be moved soon.
Update: So I found that EDGE/3G/UMTS is possible on SIM 2 - as I wondered, it must be strictly my rural location preventing it most of the time.
I'm still running AEX v3.0 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v1-1-t3486261) on my OPX, and I found this cool app: http://wilysis.com/networkcellinfo which tells lots about your WAN connections.
I ran it while I was in various spots in the city close to my hometown and got surprising results. See screenshots attached.
Thanks to all who PM'd me

Galaxy s9+ not registered on network.

Hi everyone,
I am getting a "not registered on network" error with one of my simcards, but it's not as straightforward as it seems:
- the signal is good (3-4 bars)
- 3G and 4G data both work fine, only 2G (voice and SMS) is not working.
- if I put the simcard in network mode 3G/2G only (under Settings>Connections>Mobile Networks), the 2G and 3G will both work. So basically it's only an issue when 4G is active, the 2G stops working.
now the weird part:
- the same simcard works fine when I plug it into an iPhone (2G/3G/4G)
- another simcard with a different number from the same carrier works fine in this phone (2G/3G/4G)
- the same simcard does have similar issues when I plug it into a galaxy S7 edge, but only intermittently... it will work most of the time but once in a while I'll get the same 'not registered on network.' error.
I have seen a lot of people complaining about a similar issue on the galaxy S8 and am wondering if there is not something going on with the galaxy series.
In the meantime, I spoke with my carrier and they are sending me a new sim card. I'll try this and will report here.
What carrier are you on and what variant of the S9 do you have? What APN settings are you using?
Check your APN settings
Yes I checked the APN settings. Please note that they are working fine on another phone. It's definitely not that.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s9+ and had problem using LTE/3G/2G under "Mobile networks" setting. I changed the setting to 3G/2G and the problem is not coming back anymore. I am not sure if future updates will fix the problem with LTE or not. Definitely not the SIM card problem because I used and tried the SIM in different phones without any problem. Now I found another problem with my phone. When I try "Voice recorder" and recording conversation with background music when you playback the recorded audio there is a stuttering or crackling sound. Samsung please work on fix for these problems as soon as possible. I'm from Majuro, Marshall Islands.
