IR Blaster on CyanogenMod? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

This is my first attempt at running an AOSP rom so please forgive me if this is a dumb question...
Is there a way to get the IR blaster working in CM? If so, an explanation or link to the info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks

Use an app like smart remote that's been updated for 4.4.3

I've been using Smart Remote for a long time on TouchWiz but it's not working in CM11. I reinstalled clean from the play store. Any ideas?

any help in CM thread?

Where is that? I tried searching but I guess my google-fu is weak this morning.
Other search results showed that IR blaster was not supported in CM 10.2 but was supposed to be in CM11. I haven't seen anyone say it works yet though I did see a few passing mentions about other secondary developers making successful solutions. I just found no specific info about those solutions. Figured you guys here would know.

Will the GSM patch work in .torrented's root box, or does it already have it built in?
Check the FAQ in .torrented's ROM post. He confirms that is does work and provides a link to the patch.

You can't, it's not possible because no bootloader exploit has been found since MDK.

One person has claimed it's possible through JTAG, but they declined to provide proof and nobody else has been able to do it.

So it is definitely not possible at this time.
If you want to run AOSP/etc you'll need to buy a used S4 with MDK (e.g. on swappa). They generally sell for a bit more than non-MDK ones, but I've seen them as low as $310-$335 recently. Lowest currently is $360 though. Basically, assuming your S4 is in mint/near-mint condition the price difference should be under $50 if you were to sell yours and buy one with MDK.

[ROM] AOSP 4.4.4-R2 Geeb [19/08/2014]

Just put this together for myself and decided to share.
Its 100% pure aosp so there isn't much for me to support.
Forgot to mention when I first posted, pre-rooted and busybox pre-installed.
It is set up for Canadian geeb which has green led.
For AT&T you could try xposed and gravity box and set the notification color from there.
Latest build doesn't use touchboost and you should see some battery improvement. Also removed stock aosp recovery from install.
ROM:

Banks GAPPS I use:

Thanks! Your AOSP 4.4.2 was my first ROM with the geeb, I thought the old thread got bumped until I realized the date and version. I love all the bells and whistles of CM based ROMs, but AOSP + Gravity Box is a pretty good combo.

I prefer aosp for its lack of weird behaviour

This ROM looks very interesting! Even though it's stock barebones AOSP, sometimes that just the best ROM to run on your phone Is there any possible way a gee version can be built for us Sprint and Internationals? If not, I totally understand <3

This is a boot.img for gee I just built:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712460412
Flash the rom as is, and fastboot flash boot boot.img after should work.
Or just replace it in the rom. Whichever is easier for you.
Let me know if it works, if it does I will start a new thread in International forum for you guys and upload a zip with this boot.img in it.
Just installed, and the ROM is working smoothly. Thank you very much for this!
Thanks for building this...

Forgive my ignorance, but wouldn't flashing this even with the gee kernel give us data issues?

If you have an e975 it should work just fine.

LS970 over here. Unified Gee ROMs work for both LS970 and E975, but not specific E975 builds. Kinda weird how it all works, lol. But it sounds like I should he fine, right?

I'll see if I can find out the difference for ls970.
They are CDMA and not GSM right?
Maybe as simple as a build.prop edit network??

Yes, we are CDMA. One of our first KK ROMs was actually an AOSP geeb port, exactly like this ROM (but older), and it worked. So its definitely possible!

I'm sure a few of the devs will be taking a look at it. Hopefully we won't need new kernel sources or we'll be SOL
Are the factory images up as well? From my understanding we need those as well.
Thanks guys for all the work you do, I will also continue to check for the new Android lollipop for our G2

I would love to see a ROM!
I'm here to help if testing needed or anything else.

Nothing new.
