So my buddy got a note from T-Mobile and I wanted to know, after viewing specs, won't the ATT roms and root methods work seamless since they seem to be the same exact phone?
We are not first time rooters or ROM users. But, how big of a risk would it be to try and use the ATT root method on T-Mobile Note?

I also im curious to find out how to root the Tmobile version of the galxy note and curious to find out if XDA will support the tmobile version!!!!
Rooting the stock rom is easy, flash cwm and superuser. The hardware is different, so dont touch the radio. The display is different too, so CM9 wont boot on the T-Mobile Note.

HI.
I want to change my carrier. Right nmow i have simple mobile and its worst and worst. I want to have something from verizon. Also if you know good deals share it pls. I found http://goo.gl/WC4xR and checked verizon. I choose http://goo.gl/eVXlh or http://goo.gl/CbS0r
I want to check plans for http://goo.gl/eVXlh and i have to choose between GSM and CDMA. If i choose GSM i have to choose t-mobile or att sim card.
Can i choose CDMA and register (unlocked i9300 ) for being in Verizon?

the i9300 is GSM only. No CDMA.
THX.
I have one more Q ( dont want to create another thread )
Im around 3yrs with simple mobile and after 3 yrs everything can be changed. Which servis ( and if you knoe the deal ) is the best for my unlocked i9300 att or t-mobile ? if cant go with verizon.
I want to have $50 or less per month and unlimited everything.
Like i said i found http://goo.gl/nfXnij and have to choose att or tmobile sim card. I can go also with family 2 lines.
Also what about verizon http://goo.gl/CbS0r ??
Which deal and service is the best today ?
Does the i9300 work on both? Compare att frequencies and t-mobile with i9300.
Would you not be better getting a t-mobile version or att version?
Can't help with plans. Remember, the i9300 isn't sold officially in the US so most of us are not Americans

Well ... good to know
You will only get 3G on AT&T, unless you're in one of the areas that T-Mobile has started adding their new frequency towers in. So you're best bet is AT&T. I'm American. And use my I9300 on AT&T fine.

Everything is same to i9300 except only GSM and CDMA (someone says can be able to use WCDMA while outside the Chinese territory and roaming, but I think it's highly unlikely )

Any chance to get https://www.pagepluscellular.com/ on my phone? I ask pageplus on FB but i have answer like " only if u have flashed " ?
Also this is answer from thier lifechat :
***
We cannot determine if a specific make & model will or will not work with Page
Plus. In general, you can use any unlocked, Verizon-compatible, CDMA phone on
our network.
If the handset is not an approved Page Plus Cellular device, we cannot
guarantee that web access or picture messaging will work properly on the phone.
We do not have any server information to provide if the device is not an
approved Page Plus phone.
Should you activate any non-approved Page Plus phone on our system we can
provide you with our basic programming sequence, but once more we cannot
guarantee the programming of the device will be successful, nor will we have a
way of telling you exactly why a phone will not work with Page Plus. We can
provide troubleshooting for most Page Plus approved devices. If the device you
are trying to activate is not an approved Page Plus device, troubleshooting may
be limited to the information we have available.

you may have enough to go with that. I personally am not familiar with rooting and such. I can flash devices, but not into all the extra things you can do with them. Send me a PM via FB and I will try to explain some of the things you need and we can go from there.

I don't know what you're asking. There is nothing that rooting or flashing can do to change the hardware of an i9300 to CDMA.

Yes .. sorry i was in rush.
So one more time. I asked about unlocked i9300 ill work with pageplus. He answer "Only if you have it flashed". So i told him i have rooted phone and change ROM often and is this enought or i need something else like program or setup. And he answer "you may have enough to go with that. But you already answered this and i trust you more then him.
You can never use an i9300 on verizon as CDMA. You have to use it as GSM. Im not sure who page plus are it what they offer in gsm. You'd need to compare their gsm frequency bands with the i9300.

i understand that the sprint n2 data partition is different, but if we changed that mount point within the install script could we feasibly install it and it work after we flashed the config file as well? i know this is probably a dumb question, but it was one that came to my mind after venturing off into the sprint n2 forum. thanks!
Not unless you intend on using your device... I think developers can help put those features on another device, if it isn't for your model, don't flash. You'll save yourself tons of headaches.

Actually, I was reading up this morning about AT&T ROMs on the Verizon Note 2 and it is not only doable, but also works pretty well. When done from what I just said (Flashing AT&T to Verizon) you are obviously locked out from Verizon and 4G LTE but if you have an AT&T or any GSM SIM for that matter it will work. The only real issue is GPS not working, for some reason our devices don't like the GPS setup from any ROM's other than Verizon's.

I just purchased my S5 yesterday (April 17th), but I regret selling my M8. I thought the S5 would have more dev support and more ROM's than M8, but I guess I was wrong. On the T-Mobile M8 Android Dev section there is a GPE ROM and a RUU to covert the M8 to stock android.
I was expecting like 5-10 ROMs on the S5 already (as was with the Note 3), but I guess I'm wrong? Or can I flash ROM's meant for the non T-Mobile S5?
That's my main question.
Where are the ROM's?
wow really?
Impatient much?
You do realize that this phone came out less then two weeks ago.
And I am sure that not that many people have jumped to this since there were so many people that develop that are already on the s4 and the s5 is not that much of a upgrade for them to switch.
Not to mention that the AT&T and Verizon cariants are not rootable yet and more developers are typically on those networks to begin with.
Give it a little more time for the others to get root and developers to move over and get used to the different setup and roms will come.

Well just saying the M8 has more ROM's and even stock android flashability (made that up )
Seriously though, there is a GPE ROM for M8 that allows you to flash back to stock still, and the RUU Google Play Edition, which essentially converts the M8 on T-Mobile (and other carriers) to a GPE version of the M8 permanately.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it works fine as long as you keep the T-Mobile firmware. There is some discussion in the general thread about people running the international ROMs as well as in the international forums, look around. I think we'll start seeing custom ROMs built from the T-Mobile base sometime next week at the latest, I'm content with root for now.

I'm thinking of upgrading as well, but coming from carrier specific devices (the Samsung Infuse, ATT only, and the Nexus 4 on Simple Mobile), there hasn't been different variants. So the T-Mobile devices is compatible with ROMs built for the international variant? Would the kernels for it be compatible as well? The only thing that would be lost would be the carrier specific additions such as built-in VOIP? No differences in partition layout?

APN shows T-Mobile, so I believe its just a kernel/radio issue. It's up to you if flashing a custom ROM is worth no LTE.

You need to verify the T-Mobile APN. Maybe the settings are not for T-Mobile LTE. I had the same issues after my flash but I am on AT&T. Just make sure the APN settings match that of T-Mobile LTE. Carriers have more then one APN.

I am running the T-Mobile Stock rom on my MetroPCS version GS5. The only difference is that I needed to change the APN from fast.tmobile.com to fast.metropcs.com. Everything works flawlessly.
Didn't wanna wanna make new thread since this is just a basic question. Is anyone on metro pcs using the galaxy s5? I'm using their basic 40 dollar plan which gives me 500 mb of 4g. My question is I turned off the lte service but even though I was using 3g it still used my 500 mb of lte data, does anyone know anything about this, or is turning of 4g not an option on this phone?

MetroPCS is owned by T-Mobile. The 1 after the G900T is the only factor that makes them different. They both have the download booster feature as well as wifi calling and HD Voice.
