[Q] how to add init.d folder for stock rom - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi everyone Im a newbie here and I just want to ask if there is a possible way to have a init.d folder on stock rom or gingerbread 2.3.6 WITHOUT flashing any custom rom so that I can flash tweaks and scripts using aroma all-in-one installer.

Just flash any stock based custom kernel and you will have init.d support. You can try the Rafael Baugis Kernel. Here is the link,
Rafael Baugis Kernel
Make sure to download the stock kernels and modules. Hope I Helped

My Experience,
Most of the STOCK ROM's doesn't support custom kernel they just lose IMEI number and it doesn't get restored with Galaxy Tool Box and neither by Hex editor method , but after my lot of search i found one Firmware which supports custom Kernel without loosing IMEI
Here below are details of it search and download it .

[Q] Need help on installing FXP

Hi, I am planning to isntall FXP146 over my stock .587 rom for my mini. My query is , do I need to install the rom before installing the custom kernel (like MESA) or the other way around? Or any order would do.
And which kernel is recommended for FXP if I am not into overclocking (MESA or Stock FXP) ??

You can use which you want, if you want more functions, use mesa.
You can flash kernel or rom first, normally this doesn't really matter. Only the clockworkmod version could change compared to the kernel you are using currently
Just flash the kernel then the rom or flash the rom then the kernel. You can use the kernel in the zip or mesa if u want more cpu governors & i/o scheduler like Mihahn said (better battery life too )
thanks guys for all the help.. yes i am using the MESA kernel, and i dont think anything can get better... loving cyanogenmod xD
help D:
umm I tried flashing fxp 146 but forgot to format data, now I am in boot loop and can only have fast boot, no cwm.

First install a custom kernel. As most of custom rom required a custom kernel. So better have a custom kernel as you may need to switch to others custom rom in future. As for now, I personally recomended KernelPanic( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861905 ). I use Panic with Real ICS V6 custom rom and they works like a charm. Mesa provide good battery lifes but lack of perfomances and bad sound quality(i tried it myself before turn to Panic). You may try Rage kernel and Krsh as well. But there are abit old now, haven't updated since last few months. But still they are good kernels. Do some research before taking action's always a good idea. Cheers!

[Q]custom kernel

Hi guys,
Someone can explain me why i should flash/install a custom kernel? Which benefits i should gain? Flashing a custom kernel delete my data? Or is like a software update ?
I need a custom rom to flash a custom kernel ? Or is the stock rom ok?
Is better a module's kernel o a unique kernel?
Hope someone can answer
Thank you

Kernel is the kind of mediator which talk between your OS and Hardware...
So changing Kernel do not change the OS,
Different Kernel gives different advantages, that is why you need to update Kernel.
A kernel module is an addition rip a kernel that sits in /system/lib and does something...

You can gain more speed, governors and I/O schedulers.
No, nothing will happen your data. You can experience bootloops if the your rom is not compatible with the kernel.
V2 kernel is compatible with stock rom and with several custom roms.

Ok, so i could install flar2's kernel module safely? without the risk that involve flashing New roms?
That because my stock rom have kernel version 3.0.21-g6c11713 , right?
In this way i should gain possibility of write in /system .. correct me if i have misunderstood
Thank you

Exactly.
In Asia & Europe Desire X's kernel version is 3.0.21-g6c11713 so you have to flash that one.
Read the instructions before

If I flash a custom kernel (googymax for e.g.) I get (no service)

I want to install a custom duel-boot kernel on my s3
now I'm using this ROM : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569180
I had the broplem of (not registered on a network) before
And I solved it by flashing patched modem & patched kernel
if i try to flash custom kernel i get (no service) status
then I have to flash the patched stock kernel again to make my network work
Is there any way that enables me to flash the custom kernel without losing my network ??
I also tried to flash init_d script then flashed the kernel but it didn't work
No. You would need the custom kernel to incorporate the same patch as the stock one that you have been using.

thank's
but
is it possible to incorporate the patch with the custom kernel??
and I 'm using zuluman's patched kernels
how to extract the patch from it ??
+sorry for much questions:cyclops:
Sorry, no idea. You would be best reading the patched kernel threads and asking there.

[xxu1ank5]n910f[prerooted]

Hi all,
Here you got Prerooted stock rom that might be useful for those wanting the latest stock rom but don't have access to Odin
-Base rom: N910FXXU1ANK5.
-Nothing has been added or removed with the exception of the files needed to have root permissions.
-Only 2 build prop lines have been modified to fix some things that usually stop working once root is applied (screen mirroring and private mode).
Everything else is totally untouched.
Download it HERE
DANGER:
IF FLASH THIS YOUR COUNT KNOX INCREMENT TO 0X1
Thanks to Chainfire (root) JustArchi (archi kitchen) and sawdoctor for letting me know about build.prop fixes.
Great. Thank you!
I've been looking for a pure stock rom.
Sent from a mobile gadget...
any changes or improvements over the nk4 based rom?
There are no changes, official changelist is the same for ANK4/5/6.
Just installed the ROM and uninstalled all bloatware. Works flawless.
Guys I flashed stock rom and lost root, chain fire website says bandwidth exceeded when I try to download auto root, is there any other way to root??
ro.secure.storage.support is not right. ro.securestorage.support is the right line. You find it the build.prop file.
Thanks this is the fastest rom what i try.
I only debloated, flashed AEL kernel and switched to ART runtime.
Hello guys,
just a question, please.
Is it safe to flash it directly from stock rooted NJ4?
Or is it necessary to flash new modem and bootloader through Odin first?
Thanks for your help.

I flashed the NK4 bootloader and modem to install a NK4 ROM.
It doesn't boot until you install a NK4 ROM.
I then flashed this after as I didn't like the ROM I was on and I have had no issues.
Can someone provide the stock kernel to this ROM please? Currently on AEL kernel but I am really bad at kernel tweaking

Because I felt like it... who are you to question what I do with my own phone?
Maybe I flashed it because you don't always need to tweak custom kernels. Then realised to get the very most out of them i would need to tweak it.
Learning by doing, it's what xda is about. I'm still looking for the first dude waking up knowing it all
I think I found a how to in one of the kernel threads.

Root, Custom Rom, Kernel and updates

Hi all, at the moment I have the RR custom rom with my OP7Tpro rooted.
How to update the ROM without losing the root permissions?
How to flash a new kernel without breaking everything? (I was trying to figure out what's the best between arter97 and blu_spark)
How to do both things in a row? first the new rom and then the kernel or viceversa?
Thanks in advance
1) https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/cnejw1/how_to_apply_ota_updates_on_your_op77_pro_and/ ah sorry you have RR i dont know im on OOS
2) FK kernel manager ( there you can backup you kernel or flash a new one), but arter97 is for OOS and blu_spark i dont know but i think it is the same
3) rom then kernel

(1) Update by following the update instructions on the RR ROM 1st post - then patch the "boot.img" using Magisk --> then use computer to "fastboot flash boot [your Magisk patched boot].img".
(2) RR ROM has own (lineage-based? kernel) - OP doesn't recommend custom kernels as might break some features (arter97 kernel on RR ROM breaks in-screen FP function for e.g).
(3) Usually advised to flash custom ROM then kernel.
