It might be easier making your own if you know how to?
If your already rooted and you can edit the build.prop file and change the customisation number to that from Three. Then reboot your phone and connect to PC Companion or SUS it will say update available and download the three firmware files which you can convert to ftf.
That's what I did with my O2 handset and it worked perfectly.

[Q] Internet VS Hollywood

Hi, I'm trying to download a 2.1 firmware for my Xperia x10a but whenever I go to the download link from another forum in this website, it would bring me to another website about some ad for this Internet VS hollywood. This has prevented me from downloading the firmware.
Is there another website where I can download this?
Or
any suggestions?
I really need this firmware.
Use search button before u make any new thread. U can find 2.1 firmware in this thread:

I did search for it, but all the downloads for the firmware are blocked because of this Internet vs Hollywood thing.

There's only the x10i firmware... unless it works with x10a also?
Mediafire works...
Did you try different browsers? Dolphin mini browser works for me (don't forget to set the agent to PC).
Some countries blocks this sites did you try to download via a proxy server like anonymous and such?
U need 2.1 firmware for x10a, not x10i. Try ur link with different browser, and don't make double threads (u make same thread in general section).

Apps To SD works natively

According to what I've read on different forums and websites, The original firmware from Hong Kong has an Apps To SD function. I also don't know why they included that in the Hong Kong firmware.
Question: Can I install a firmware from the region Hong Kong if my phone came from a different region? Thanks!
There is no reason why not, but back up first to be safe.

Its new so I think I dont need to backup. Might flash my Mega right away when it arrives this coming friday.
Anyone else who would like to try the Hong Kong rom?

I have tried the HK Rom and cannot find any MoveToSD button in app manager. Maybe I broke something when I built it though.

Thanks for the info, but this is not good news, it means this is somewhere in the Samsung bloat I removed.
This might help: I used the turn off function on most of the samsung bloatwares instead of uninstalling it. So maybe its not because of the bloatwares..

I bought my Mega off ebay (an import) and got an update immediately which I imagine was the app to SD support. I've got I9205ZHUAMG1 firmware. App to SD really helps me a lot as I think there was only about 4.9GB available memory in the phone so now I have the majority of my apps on the SD card (although some data remains on phone still).
SD Card Size
After installing the HK ROM, I have the apps to sd feature but my internal SD card size is reported incorrectly. Does anyone have this issue?
I have 8gb sd but now it is reported as 16gb sd.

Canada z2 Phone update..

Coming from Samsung this is kinda confusing the firmware thing.
So basically I have a bell Canada z2 which has the firmware attached on the photo. Could I update it to a latest software or that is the one? I'm rooted already.
If I could update it what files do I use? What are the chances of bricking? Thanks

Flash the latest ftf fimware for Canada, which has been posted on here already. Instructions on flashing are posted here as well.
I told you mate…
Download latest ftf and flash it through flashtool
You can use generic rusian for that, just exclude baseband files from flashing…

This is not reason. Using flashtool to flash newest firmware. Or maybe you will never receive any update in the feature.

Its called Sony PC Companion. Go to settings > xperia connectivity > USB connectivity > Tick the install software button. Then if you plug your phone in, it should prompt you to install the Sony software onto your PC. Install it then check for an update that way. It should say you have an update available.

Should do it. Rooting should not prevent checking for updates/receiving OTA notifications
The answer is because Bell Canada's and a few other carrier branded phones is still on 17.1.A.2.55, so PC Companion for instance would say you are up to date. As other have mentioned, use the Flashtool and flash your phone with a generic ftf which has the latest version.
I would say flash Canada generic (which I uploaded which is in the firmware sticky) as I am using the Canada firmware, then you can have the latest update of 17.1.2.A.0.314.
I have to add as well that when you flash the newest one you will gain crazy good battery life! I am on Bell Canada, and the newest firmware runs awesome!

As I have recently found out.
The Canada Generic is actually a US Generic. Will probably have to start changing names soon to not confuse anything.
