The first thing yo did was not correct though it worked for the system apps you did like copy and pasting updated versions..
After you flash a ROM then gapps.. Dont try to push the updates in system/app.. Normal install the updates..
Next download the play services apk and install normally.. I m attaching it.. Just install the apk manually and then try..

Try to flash stock ROM.
You may have to wipe data (= do a factory reset) again.
Good luck !
BTW, next time, create a complete system backup (e.g. nandroid backup) before "tweaking" system files

Market and Gmail app fails after root and CWM install

I installed the new OTA update earlier today and then did the one click mod.
Then installed CWM Recovery using the guide on this site.
Everything went perfectly the first try. I have ROM Manager installed also.
Browsing works fine.
When trying to download an app it errors out in the info bar and says, "Download was unsuccessful." Sometimes AppBrain will say connection error after opening.
Gmail app gives me a connection error, as does Google Talk.
I've tried clearing the data and cache for all these apps including the Download Manager and rebooting. I'm treading in unfamiliar waters and I'm not sure what to try next. I'd love some help please!
Was so excited that everything went flawlessly and now this...
I waited for the OTA update before rooting just so I'd be as legit as possible. I'm not sure if the root caused the problems or if flashing CWM caused the problems, so I've been trying to find a way to go in reverse and get rid of CWM, but I haven't found anything that's made sense yet. From what I gather I'd have to put the stock Recovery back, and I don't know how to do that. All I have is a ROM Manager backup that I performed after the CWM install.
I'm confused and I hope someone can point me in a safe direction.
Fixed itself. Glad I was patient enough not to try something stupid.
See, I was out of cell service while rooting. Once I got into 3g service this morning everything started working. Even turned airplane mode on and everything works via wireless now.
Haven't a clue why, but I'm thankful nonetheless. : )

I have lighting ROM installed and dont have a backup of STOCK ROM
1) I went into Recovery and made a backup to SD card. The backup do not include camera images.
2) I wiped cache and it does not solve the error.
3) I did not do FACTORY RESET. It says that it will wipe user data so may be images too.

If i will install a NEW ROM (stock rom) which can be downloaded from here
http://www.sammobile.com/
Will it wipe all the images?

SIM cantread after Nandroid backup :(

Hi guys,
I wonder if someone can help me with this... really annoying problem!
I was checking out various roms i downloaded here, started with 4.0 aokp which was great, then gave cyanogen 4.2 a try, but then i wanted to go back to Aokp 4.0 cause it seemed to run faster
Now first thing, i couldnt get rid of cyanogen (no offense intended) cause when i wiped all data, cache and dalvik it just took aokp a few seconds to install from CWM recov, that doesnt seem right, right?
Then installed GAPPS, but still it ran on Cyanogen
So, i did a NANDROID backup, which made my phone like before i started with all this..
THIS IS WHERE IT WENT WRONG?
now it just wont read my simcard
i tried my sim in my old phone and that works fine, so the problem is in my phone somehow
is it something about the radio settings specific to my phone and network?
how can i change these settings and are they specific for my provider?
you guys always helped me out so i hope you know what i mean..

I've exactly the same problem.
Are your wifi and BT still OK ?
Is your IMEI (*#06#) still the same as under the battery ?
Was your phone locked ? Did you buy it with a SIM ?
My problem appeared after flashing several different modems/RILS : I got no error warning anywhere, but after reboot, I completely lost my netwerk connection. (no voice calls , no mobile data)
At first I thought a bad RIL driver, so I restored my Nandroid backup from the day before (after wipe cache/wipe dalvik/format system), but still no connection with the netwerk. and can't even make voice calls.
Then I was in panic !
After this I did a complete factory reset, and wiped/formatted cache/dalvik/system/data/SD-card and went in to download mode. After loading a stock ELLA for my region using Odin, still no connection. I was also never asked to enter the PIN-code for my SIM to unlock it.
Damned, this is an embarrassing situation : I can't think of loosing my SG3 for several weeks if I have to send it to Samsung !!
Mu phone is bought without SIM, so it's not SIM-locked.
My Wifi and BT are still OK, my IMEI is also still OK.
Any other ideas, please ?
How do I come in the service mode for the Radio ?
This is the way my netwerk is indicated : a circle with a stripe, much like the famous traffic sign.
Its fixed
So i have no idea how it eventually got fixed but if someone else has this problem, heres what i did:
Full wipe/factory reset blablabla all that
Did Nandroid restore again, put the AOKP ROM and GAPPS back on my phone
Installed ROM which was I9300CEDLI1
Used Odin to install latest CWM, which was already on there, but still
Then booted into CWM and installed .zip of course
This still went suspiciously fast since the very first time it took way longer, that worried me but,
Installed GAPPS again,
Rebooted... IT ASKED FOR MY PIN NUMBER!! hell yes that was what i wanted!
So now it again sees my simcard in there, so now i can make calls end use intnet again!
Still i think it started after the nandroid backup for some reason, or it may have been because of wiping Dalvik Cache?
I have no idea if that even makes sense

Good to hear your problem is fixed !
I'm still not able to make voice calls or enable mobile data : "insert SIM card" is the message I get.
I did already twice a full reset/factory restore and flash a stock ROM using PC Odin, but no avail.
Today I did a restore from my EFS folder using a backup that a had made before the problem appeared, but no avail.
BTW, did you also have the same indication from network status as on my screen-shot ?
Any idea what else I can try ?
I'm getting desperate .....
I'm having the same trouble after doing backup in TWRP when boot up it doesn't recognize the sim card.
I've flash CM10.1 and it only work after i remove the card e put it back on.
Try to see if it something about the simcard.

[Q] BIG problem - Stuck on Gingerbread 2.3.3 (old I know) trying to change custom ROM

Hi there, ive looked all over online and on here for about a week solid now for a solution for this and cannot find one anywhere! My situation is.. im running gingerbread 2.3.3 on my S2 that I got in 2011. As soon as I got it I flashed the Lite'ning ROM to it. It worked fine up until christmas just gone and just all of a sudden started saying this error message when I tried to open anything, such as messages, contacts, google, camera etc..
"sorry the application ..... (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"
So I have just been trying to get the phone back to orignal factory settings by putting a factory ROM on, or install a new custom ROM in the hope that this will solve the problem and get the phone working normally again. I used Odin and installed a custom ROM successfully (so I thought) but when I rebooted the phone I was still stuck on Lite'ning ROM and everything was how it was before. The same happened when I installed a factory ROM. I also tried to install a custom ROM via the SD card, but this failed everytime.
One other thing.. when I restore to factory settings while on the CMW and then reboot the phone.. nothing has gone, its exactly the same, with all my contacts, pictures and apps. I never knew it would be so hard to restore my phone. Im hoping someone here can advise me on what to do... Ive a feeling it might be to do with the fact the phone is gingerbread 2.3.3 and all the custom ROMs now are made for ICS or Jelly Bean? If so how do I get my phone to work with these ROMs. Thanks for reading and I really hope someone can help!

I think you should try a 3-files odin flash rom.
If you search in google for "Odin 3-files i9100" than you will find the rom

S6 edge copy/ paste problem

Hi guys,
The copy/paste function in my S6 edge seems to have disappeared. A few days ago i noticed that i can't copy text or url (from stock internet explorer for instance) and even if i manage to copy something (copy still works in "mozilla") - i can't then paste it in "viber" or "memo" or any other app.
Recently i received update to Marshmallow, but the copy/paste function was fine after updating.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
Regards.
Update: Factory reset didn't fix this........ W T F ??!!!
CSC must not be allowing you to copy text for some reason. Can you install a different variant of MM for your device and see what happens
Well, I wouldn't want to root and flash another ROM, so after countless factory resets(from recovery mode) last night, I finally got it working.
The difference this time was that i didn't restore my setting and apps from google backup. I started fresh and now i make settings and install apps one by one. For now it's working.
I have one question though - can i flash stock ROM with ODIN but without rooting or without flashing custom recovery?
S6 Dual Sim... have the same issue... annoying

Yeah you can, Odin can install stock ROMs without root and won't trip Knox.
Thanks for the info.

Same problem
Any solution other than factory reset?
Any update?

Solution found
Yes i have found the solution ... just factory reset the phone ... but don't not restore your backup file when asked on welcome screen .... it means don't enter your google id just skip it .... aftet that your copy paste function will be back and enter your google id later
