[Q] Serious Problem LG P760 - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

hello guys
sorry for my bad English.
i have a LG P760 for about 6 months, bought it second hand from a friend. the phone had troubles from the beginning with starting up. every time when you started the phone, it couldn't get any furder than the lg logo, so i had to take out the battery, and start the phone again, this happened several times before the lg started.
last time i had this problem, it took me forever, placed the battery like 30 times in and out, so i did a factory reset, but while resetting, the phone died, and i wasn't able to get it back on.. not even with the special key combinations. so i searched around the net for a solution and found one. but when i tried and connected the phone to the pc with a usb cabel holding the up button, i got errors of coprocessor and omap4430, so i installed them both, and tried again. so now the omap4430 keeps connecting and disconnecting, so i can't connect my lg to the pc..
plz help me..
cheerz

windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
Radeon HD 7790 Direct CU II OC 1GB

Ok. This can probably be fixed with a recovery update. Make sure you have the latest lg mobile support tool installed on your pc. Then, power your phone off. I should say that after doing this, it WILL wipe EVERYTHING off your phone... so back up your contacts somehow. So, once youve got the support thing on your pc, open that up. Now plug the usb end of your charging cable to your pc. While holding the UP volume button on your l9, plug in the phone end. Don't do anything until the software upgrade screen pops up on your phone. Then let go of VOL +. Your pc should be installing drivers now, wait till those are done if any. Once the lg support tool says your phone is connected, there should be a drop down in the top right. Click that and click the recovery update option. (I think thats what its called, you should figure it out) then let it work its magic and once your phone reboots you should be set. What this did is wiped the phone COMPLETELY, and reinstalls the OS. Good luck!

first of all, thanks for the reply! but i think you miss understood the problem here. since the phone died, it does not respond on anything.. could it be that the phone fully bricked? when i open lg mobile support tool, and plug it into usb, with the up botton to get in to SW mode like you say, the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting.. on lg support tool, there is nothing happening.. just connecting and disconnecting like 10-12 times...

You might want to look into what installing fastboot drivers imply, if I recall correctly they include drivers for the omap4430 device, once you can get into fastboot and hopefully have your device show up there in your PC screen, you might be able to push a custom recovery or try to reboot the phone via commands.
Its one of those issues you need to be there to try and fix, sorry if I'm not helping much.

I'm not sure, but I think it depends on your computer and your used ports, anyway, the important thing is to change it to 41.

X10 Seems to be dead. Urgent, Please Help

- Was using Free X10 Beta 4, Changed Brightness Settings, Phone crashes
- It will not turn on, but it does vibrate when holding the power on button
- The Phone is recognised by USB and comes up with the Green Light although
does not update in SEUS - "Product Cannot Be Identified" (I've deleted/replaced blob_fs, still same problem)
- Attempted to update firmware with PC Companion, Does not work, "Download Error"
- I've also attempted to installed a generic firmware through Flashtool, whilst it takes a very long time to flash it finishes although phone remains not working after.
What is wrong? I've simply changed brightness settings and it's crashed. Please help me get my phone working, I need it urgently.
This has happened once before although I've been able to reflash the firmware via SEUS although this time it isn't identifying my phone.
How was your battery level?
Ive never heard about this situation in particular but i believe if you search there are threads on unbricking an x10. Take a look around the forums and search unbrick x10 and see what you get.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Battery level was near 100%.
The Search seems to be down, could anyone link me to an unbricking tutorial on here?
Thanks.
Bump..
Unbricking method doesn't work (just flashing via Flashtool with generic firmware). On top of that it takes ages to flash via this method for some reason.
Anyone have any idea what the problem is?? The phone should be working fine, all I did was change the brightness setting and then it crashed.

it doesn't matter if U can access to flash mode. if u can, so before connect ur phone to computer, in SEUS Support zone =>start=>update software => start, then press blue letter "repair phone", wait until it ask for coonect phone in flash mode
Flash it with generic .sin files by flash tool......before that wipe total system.....
it should work....

I can't right now because I closed the Flash Tool although when it gets to flashing System it disconnects and the LED turns red, it then proceeds to saying everything has finished, disconnect phone and turn on.
Is your usb cable okay? maybe the problem is your usb cable. As of right now its IMPOSSIBLE to brick the X10 due to the bootloader not being cracked. The only problem can be your programs, cable, or maybe you dropped your X10 one to many times.
If you do get it sorted, you cant set brightness to auto, will cause a crash. This was highlighted in z's original freex10 thread.

It's not my programs, cables or computer as I've just flashed my friends X10 and it worked perfectly. I've never dropped my phone, It's done this after changing brightness setting on FreeX10 Beta 4.
It's also not the battery as I've tried using a friends battery and still the same problem.

LG P760 totally dead

Hello
is there any chance a kind person can help me with this dead stick?
a few information about this phone:
- as far as i was told, the phone died after an update
- when i plug the phone to the charger nothing appears on screen
- when i power the phone nothing happens
- when i volume up + power the phone nothing happen, same with volume down + power and volume up+down+power
i have installed the lg tools and using the imei downloaded a 600+MB package which should be the restore image of the phone but when the procedure starts to flash the image it gets stuck at 4% trying to connect to phone without any luck
if anyone has some ideas to give i would be very happy to try them!
the phone is dead. does it get hot when you connect it to the charger for some minutes? if yes, then it has shorted inside and you have to replace/repair it. same thing happened to my p765 and i had to get it replaced from lg.
Did you try to remove battery for a longer time and put it back? You can also try to remove SIM and SD card before inserting the battery.
thanks both of you for the replys.. makes me happy to be able to discuss this problem with someone..
i have been doing more testing. this are the new things i found out..
i have discharged the original battery by using it on a small circuit i have.. i then tested it with the tester and it was really low.. then i placed it back in the phone and left the phone charging all night to see if it would heat as noob.gamer said but it didn't.
interesting thing is that the battery is now charged again.. so i opened up the phone to look with the tester inside it..
looks like the charging microusb port works.. i can read about 5V on the pcb right where the connector is.. then i can read 3.3V right where the batter connect is.. when it is under charging, on the battery connector i can read much more than 3.3V which makes me suppose that the pcb is able to charge the battery afterall..
i just really can't understand why this thing doesn't give any sign of life.. power and volume buttons seem to close well when i press them, i can hear a small click.
is it possible that the phone motherboard can still charge the battery but has burned components on it?
components don't look very neat tbh, they all seems to have a black melt around.. here are some pics i did with another phone, sorry for quality

sorry, how can i do this?
do i have to enter software upgrade mode to be able to use the LG tools correctly? because this might explain why i wasn't able to flash it when i tried..
You have to press vol+ and then connect to usb(holding vol+), of course you have to be in SW Upgrade mode to get lg tool working
After you connected it, open LG tool and wait that it recognizes the phone

bah, sorry.. i have actually found a proper guide now here on xda.
so unfortunately i think i have a bigger problem here.. i have downloaded the universal lg drivers and installed them on a new computer, just to be sure to do everything from scratch correctly this time, and i then downloaded the lg support tools.
i started the tools which say the phone is not connected.. i then connected the usb to the pc.. then pressed vol+ and while it was pressed inserted the microusb to the phone. i tried it twice with the battery on and twice without the battery on.. (sd and sim are not in the phone)
unfortunately windows (xp) doesn't seem to recognize any device and doesn't install nothing. no new peripherals are detected in the device manager.
the lg suppor tools keep saying that the device is not attached and this btw was what i had with the other computer (when i just connected the phone without going into sw upgrade mode)..
Try to install drivers from lg tool, just to be sure that are right.
You should try also with another pc (win7) if you have this possibility, its strange that the tool doesnt recognize your phone in SW Upgrade Mode

i think there isn't much left to this phone sadly..
as you suggested i tried on another windows pc, this time 7.. i started directly the lg support tools and clicked on install drivers.. choose the lgp760 drivers and it downloaded them and installed them.. then i tried connecting the phone to the pc with the vol+ button pressed but nothing happens still..
is this sw upgrade mode suppose to start even without the battery?
edit: i tried rebooting the pc but still nothing has changed..

actually the phone is not mine. the person who gave it to me just told me this exact words:
"i was using the phone and received an update.. i downloaded it and installed it.. then i used the phone a 2 days and then it didn't work anymore."
this is all unfortunately.
when i try to start in sw update mode, nothing appears on screen.. i don't even hear the phone vibrating or making sounds.. nothing at all.
really looks totally dead.
try claiming the warranty. ..? and dnt mention root dev kdz words to them..just go ang say what your friend told u exact lines..and if u had open the lg l9 then pls screw it well and undetectable..and if possible..try sending a girl/older age(max 40 lol) woman to the lg service centre representatives..cuz they wont doubt a female doin root\black ops stuff on the phone..
remember there's a limit to xda work. .and that ends at hardware problems.

Funny thing, my p760 died yesterday with about the same symptoms and no way to get any vital sign of it. With the difference that the last update I did was like 3-4 weeks ago.
In my case seems like the back-top area gets a bit warm when charging, but I would say that just the usual. It might be, like someone said, a short circuit.
I guess it will not be a problem claiming the warranty and getting a new one. However I will not take the thing apart to be sure.
If you remove the phone battery and then, plug your phone to your computer, is there any signal on the USB port ? For example, on Windows, you should here a sound like if a device was plugged, unplugged, then plugged again, unplugged...
See this thread for more information :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090
If you don't have at least this reaction, you can assume the phone is really dead. Otherwise, you have probably a software issue with the bootloader or an hardware issue with the phone battery.

My bad, it is actually alive, and exactly as you said. I guess i didn´t press the combination properly :S. Seems like I might be able to update via "LG Support Tool" (vol+/power/usb). But first I need to try a backup, I would like to keep at least some photos I have on the phone.
Lets see if the sync software is able to do it...
---------- Post added at 05:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:18 PM ----------
:/ As I expected the PC-sync software did not connect. And I don´t see any option to backup with the "support tool". Any options?
I suppose, the internal memory is just a memory card and I could just copy directly from the card, but I don´t want to take the phone apart (just in case a have to make use of the warranty in the end...)
Thanks in advance.
---------- Edit ----------
Well, the thing didn´t work out in the end. I tried upgrading with the "LG Support Tool" but the process never went further than 4%.
I will just return it, and I hope to get it back soon (or a new one... or whatever). In the meantime I can go back with my always reliable N5800

Can you do offline flash? If so please read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2411265
If not, I think you should use LG mobile support tool to recover your phone.
- Boot you phone in S/W upload mode. To do this, turn off your phone, take off battery, hold down vol- button while re-connect ubs cable wait about 5-8 sec. After S/W update screen appear insert you battery. (You may need to install LG usb driver first)
- Open LG mobile support. (if it's not installed, search for it and download from lg site, http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe)
- LG mobile support should show your phone info
- Select Customer Support > Recover
- And wait for program to download and flash your phone (1 - 2 hours)

It may easier to use LG mobile support tool than offline flash. If you want to recover it back please try that first. If you install LG usb driver it should work fine.
You can download usb driver from LG website, this is for my phone http://tool.xcdn.gdms.lge.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=UW00120120425. may be it compatible with yours.

So you can boot your phone up or not? And while you use recover tool your phone was in S/W update mode or LG software mode.
If it in S/W update mode, LG mobile support tool should able to show your phone information. Try to use other usb port. Maybe if you can give more information of what steps you did, other member may able to point out what I miss.

It shouldn't found your phone. Because in JB LG flash tool cannot detect our L9 phone. If you want to flash kdz, you have to flash ICS u-boot/x-loader first. Please use Lelus fastboot script to flash it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292828
select option for your P760 phone and read howto in readme file. You must install fastboot driver first.

Solved
Solution for all have this problem:
1 disistall driver and reboot computer
2 install driver
3 connect the phone in only charge mode
2 connect the phone in mtp and wait windows driver recognition
3 connect the phone in camera mode and wait driver recognition
4 connect the phone in software lg mode and wait driver recognition
now your phone work like a charm
I've seen this before myself

Softbricked? Don't worry, you can fix it if you can read.
Download all the files and extract zips.

When FlashTool shows Ready, disconnect the phone for ~5 secs. Upon reconnecting the phone, FlashTool will automatically run. This will take a few moments, so go get a cup of coffee. When the phone shows a blue screen with a bid red 3, you're good to go. Disconnect the phone and pull the battery briefly. Restart the phone and redo the setup. Shutdown Flashtool to prevent any accidents when rerooting.

LG G3 flies faster than a G6
OG RAZR XT912 got 4.4 before S4
I am an experienced Android hacker, and still got a bit lost with the tutorial. While I appreciate the excellent work here, you might consider editing/adding the information to help clarify the following:
1. The TOT file at http://www.mediafire.com/download/6i..._Stock_TOT.zip, https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7379qhBA5bnVWQwLU9GNkk3ZGs&usp=sharing, and http://fs1.androidfilesharing.com/d123f6f2cfa13038 are all identical - and we only need one or the other. Please identify the other TOT links as mirrors to the same file, so people aren't downloading all of them unnecessarily (especially as they each are so very large).
2. There is already a MegaLock.dll file installed in the LGFlashTool folder once the application is installed. When you say add .dll files to the LGFlashTool folder, please clarify if MegaLock.dll needs to be overwritten by the other file with the same name (found in Setup_LGFlashTool_1.8.1.1023.zip), or otherwise. It might also help to clarify specifically which dll files are moving to the LGFlashTool folder, and from where. I ended up overwriting the default MegaLock.dll with the one you provided before I started the process...
3. Ports won't often show in Device Manager unless you go to View and then Show Hidden Devices in the Device Manager application.
4. After clicking the yellow arrow, unplugging and plugging the phone back in did nothing to start the process. Nor did plugging it back in while holding volume up (like in your 2nd step). I had to unplug, power the phone on, and then when the red Verizon screen appeared I plugged back in. This triggered the start of the Flash process. An easy way to tell you're in the right spot during the process: the red Verizon screen will disappear and a Firmware Updating screen will pop up to show you progress on the phone. When done, the phone will power cycle automatically...then, after a few other brief items, the red "3" on the blue screen will appear.
WARNING: Don't forget to close the LGFlashTool on your PC when you're done. Because...if you have anything else to do during the same session (such as rooting the phone), when you power cycle the phone while it's still plugged into your PC, LGFlashTool will take over and proceed to flash your phone again!!
Thanks again for your hard work. The tutorial was indeed helpful.

Haha thanks. Just curious in case something goes funky hardware-wise. My g2 screen went wonky after a few months and I had to warranty it, unrooting was easy. Hope this pulls through if I ever need to!

I'm trying this and I am stuck. Got all files downloaded, installed lg tool and got to the point of restarting the phone into download mode. No problem there. Issue is I can't find the COM ports in the device manager. Running Windows 8.1 pro, don't see a section for the COM ports. I do see CDC EM, CDC Serial and LGE Android Phone, but when I right click, there is no PORT option to change....
I know I am getting close if I can just figure how to change the port on the device manager.
Any help?
update>>>when i double click the lge android phone in dev mgr, it says drivers are not installed. I have installed drivers. I also tried removing drivers and rebooting then reinstalling drivers, same thing. It shows up but looks like it can't find the right drivers.

Quick question, apologies if it's idiotic -- basically I (stupidly, it turns out) tried to change my VZW boot animation. No dice. But now I can't get the old one back to working again, which is buggin me out.
QUESTION: Would reflashing to stock in the manner described in this thread completely restore the phone, including that boot animation? I'm just crazy enough about this to actually do it, if it'd work.
Thanks A TON for any info.

I would think. I'm new to the g3, but I think this is a tool to restore to stock out of the box. Relating to an Odin restore with Samsung. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Wifi doesn't work after unlocked bootloader

Hello,
I have unlocked bootloader to install new cwm 13 for LG G2 Mini [D620r] and after that point wifi stopped working. Even if I set up static IP address, it doesn't work. With static IP it connects but without any internet connection. I've tried visit website without DNS (I used IP address), but without any result. It's completely offline.
This occured on 5.0.2 updated stock rom and I have also installed cwm 13 and the same problem.
Any ideas, tips to solve this?
Thank you.
You seem to have, somehow, corrupted the partition that controls the WiFi interface (I can't remember which one it is).
Flash a kdz to fix it.

My router is fine. I checked also next two AP brands and nothing. It is the same.
It cannot connect. And if you set static IP, it will connect but without anything else. Connected but no data transfer. No internet connection.
EDIT: Rooted with Kingoroot app via computer (so I don't need to use mobile data )
Now I can install twrp but wifi doesn't work.
EDIT 2 (to sum it up ):
Model: D620r
Step 1: Flashed D620r20d KDZ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66253546&postcount=12
Step 2: Rooted with Kingo Root via PC
Step 3: Unlocked bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/bootloader-d620-d618-t3127819
Step 4: Installed TWRP 3.0.2 with Rashr: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/unified-twrp-recovery-3-0-0-lg-g2-mini-t3311316
Step 5: Flashed new kernel v2.1.1: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g2-mini/development/kernel-stock-kernel-modded-ramdisk-t3082562
If installing another ROM, I wiped whole device except external sd card
On my router RB450G (which deals with whole traffic at home) I see IP address offer for my device but mobile phone doesn't respond. Maybe it looks like it send data but doesn't receive.
RB450G is non-wifi router but canyon (wifi router) is only set up as AP like bridge mode. So it doesn't do anything else except AP
I remind that all this happened after I unlocked bootloader.
I'm realy disapointed of that phone :crying:

I think this is the end.
I have bricked it today trying to load new bootloader using script to do it now. But script was designed to load d618.... so... I can't get it into bootloader.
EDIT 1:
I've tried puffed old samsung battery which is charged 2.75V what means it is below 0%.
I could get battery display on screen with 0% on it, beep sound on computer but after 5 seconds it disconnected. (No COM port detected in device manager)
UPDATE: I can get lg logo on 1 second, see battery warning (all upside down).
I discharged battery by connecting it on my laser pointer It discharged a bit too fast...
Also after 1 second LG logo display, it then beeps a sound like when you connect phone on charger, then it vibrates and then it keeps connecting and disconnecting but no com port.
Then it looks like it loaded wrong bootloader (d618) or whatever and when I press power button, I see charging screen. Here is a photo for better imagination:

Doesn't work. I've connected it again on laser diode, till it didn't shut down.
After voltage maybe around 2.60 - 2.65V I couldn't meassure voltage. Showed 0V, laser diode was still on, then soon it died. So I was sure it was 0%.
Then I've tried to connect it to the computer and nothing. Only battery icon showed, then disappeared, plug/unplug sound.
With that guide I should see bootloader text to press volume up button again.
But my situation is that my bootloader is wrong. It never ever show anything.
Also I've tried to connect it on linux but I couldn't see devices drives. /sd*

I will upload next two videos to see upside down battery charging On video it's maybe not too low voltage, but I tried it before with lower voltage.
And on one video is my computer randomly beeping info sound, because friend started to spam me...
