How can I do

(android L 5.0)
to became my boot animation?

It would have to be resized. The size of the writing will be small though because it's landscape and we should resize it to portrait values. But for the process to do it:
Manually resize all the pictures to 480x800 resolution and adjust the resolution also in desc.txt. That should do it. If I would have time now, I'd try it myself.

Isn't it resize itself?

No, it isn't. The pictures inside the folders have to be the same resolution as specified in the desc.txt.

Wildfire Wallpaper Resolution

Hey, does anyone know what the optimum resolution for a Wildfire wallpaper would be? I'm going by the assumption that users will have HTC Sense enabled and will have 7 screens to scroll through.
It doesn't matters. When you choose a wallpaper to apply you can crop it to fit Just drag the frames and the selection will be enlarge

Yeah I know that works, I just wondered if there was a resolution in which the picture didn't need cropping or anything.
480x320 is the resolution for wallpaper, with this resolution you cover 7 screens of htc sense.

Works like a charm, thanks dude
Use Wallpaper Set & Save when applying a bakground image, it will give you the best quality rather than the stock method that somehow lowers the image quality.

[Q] Archos 101 wallpaper size

There is new version of crop wallpaper in market and this version can use define size of cropped picture.
Archos101 display is 1024x600
If those settings are set, I still get wrong size to wallpaper and tried many variations, but all are crappy.. HD pictures look like zoomed thumbs when set as wall.
Question: anyone knows what resolution should be set, to get best picture quality ??

Wallpaper size for the A101 must be 1200x1024
Tested, still picture is wrong size and placed incorrecly at desktop.

The size needs to be 1200x1024 but in landscape mode only the top 600px are shown. in portrait mode everything is shown. that is the problem with wallpapers on android.
There is no way around that unless you resize you picture to 1200x1024 and leave the bottom 424px empty.
Or else use Multipicture live wallpaper but that is a big drain on resources.

[Q] Resolution of background image?

I want to replace the background image on my X10 mini pro (MiniCM7-2.1.8) with a photo, and now I am wondering, which resolution I should resize the image to.
This can't be such a stupid question after all, I tried to read up on the issue, but looks like a lot of people have problems understand how Android handles background images.
So the background image is panned across all homescreens (5 of them in the standard setup of MiniCM7-2.1.8) in a unique way, so the used background image can not just be as large as the physical display resolution.
Somewhere it was mentioned, the picture should be twice as wide as the physical screen, but I am not sure, if this really applies.
As the X10 mini pro has a 240x320 display, what has to be done, to use a photo which does not get cropped or stretched?
And how to overcome the problem with the display orientation, so once it fits for the 240x320 orientation, what happens when the phone gets turned resulting in the 320x240 orientation?

1 homescreen 480x320, 1 image 240x320 on the center
2 homescreens 480,320 2 images 240x320

You don't need to physically resize image to set it as wallpaper. You can set one image as wp in many ways from default wp handler. ''Needed'' resolution is relative thing because of different number of home-screens that users have on their phones. Android handles this thing quite well.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
For reference, the background picture needs to be 480x320 independent of the number of home screens.
So for any Android phone, it's always 2x horizontal and 1x vertical screen resolution.
It makes sense to prepare the picture in advance, because obviously it consumes less memory and can be used without cropping.

[Q] lockscreen resolution

does anyone know what the resolution for the lockscreen pictures? It doesnt have scrolling and I hate the crop of the picture because it makes the picture grainy, I would like to know the actual resolution and not 1280x720....thanks

that IS the actual resolution. That is teh screen resolution so none scrolling images are 1280x720. Scrolling images for homescreens are 1280x1440
ok well let me refrarise the question I guess, what is the resolution of the lock screen so you aren't forced to crop the picture? @ 1280x720 you have to crop the picture, hence the crappy quality.
Sounds like you need to have the resolution in the opposite direction

Don't crop the picture. When the box shows up with the crop tool, just leave it alone and hit OK.
As long as your pictures are 720 x 1280 or larger, it should be as clear as day.

In fact, it is 720x1280 for no-scrolling and 1440x1280 for scrolling
My solution to that was viewing desired picture in gallery, take screen shot and then place it as a lock screen pic. Thanks to that it is saved at screen resolution. Hope this helps.

Question I want to create a video for eventual live wallpaper implementation on the P6 What resolution would be good for live wallpaper video?

So I want to experiment with creating looping gifs/videos as live wallpapers with my Pixel 6. I see that the native screen res is 2400x1080 is that the size I should render the video at as well or are live wallpapers lower resoloution and scaled up?
Using smaller sizes and upscaling will save space but the upscaling will soften the image. I would use the screen's actual resolution if possible. To be certain however you should try to extract the wallpapers from the system framework (framework-res apk) and look at them in an image viewer. You'll get the dimensions of the wallpaper that way.
