[Q] Phone Stuck at Bootup Animation - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so I tried flashing a ROM onto my HTC Evo 3D (Virgin Mobile) phone. Here is what I was trying to get onto my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430694
For some reason though every time I try to get this onto my phone it just gets stuck at the Android animation screen after reboot. I cleared my data, my cache, and even the dalvik. After this I go and try put as seen above onto my phone. It works and brings me to the setup screen, where it asks me what apps I want installed, what kind of kernel I want etc. Then it downloads I click finish, it brings me back to the CWM screen, and I select reboot. Thinking that my phone will work, when in reality, after rebooting all I get is an Animation screen and that is it. I left it on the screen all night hoping maybe something would happen, but woke up to find it still on that screen. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.
Also I would like to mention that my phone has hboot 1.58 if that is of any help.
So just to show you the order of how I did it: HBoot>Recovery>Wipe data/factory reset>Wipe Cache Partition>Advance>Wipe Dalvik Cache>Install Zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard>YAS4_v11.zip
then it does its thing and afterwards I reboot.

[Q] Is my phone bricked!? Oh crap.

So heres the problem. I've been waiting ages for a good phone that can play videos on the go, but after finding out that my HTC hero (GSM) only supports 2.1 android and cant run iPlayer, i thought i might as well try to install it myself. And thats when it all went wrong. I got UniversalAndroot 2.2 and now my phone just freezes on an "android" logo which was never even there before. What can i do? The only thing i can do is hold down the power and volume down buttons and get into a white screen with two options. Help please....
isnt it home and power button to go to recovry?
Have you wiped your phone data in your recovery image if not wipe your phone data/factory reset in your recovery image and also wipe your cache
It's fine guys, I managed to get into recovery, thanks for your help!

[Q] Phone locks up when trying to get to recovery

When I boot into recovery, it'll give me the TWRP screen, the one you get before it goes to the touch screen, then the screen goes black and boots to the white htc screen stays there. I flashed CWM and it'll boot into the recovery, the recovery pops up but I'm unable to select anything and after about 3-5 seconds, it goes black and boots to the white htc screen. I've flashed the correct boot.img also just in case that got messed up but that doesn't seem to help either.
Any ideas on stuff I can try next?
Oh yeah, also, it seems that I lost the ability for my computer to see whats on the internal storage. It just shows up as pictures and nothing else. I tried on two different computers that I'd synced up with before and they both act the same. I can use root explorer and see everything is still there. But from the computer, there is nothing.
Ended up flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset. Sucks I lost all my sdcard data, but at least I can get to the recovery now.

[Q] Stuck in recovery boot loop midflash upgrading to KitKat 4.4.2 on dtmo SGS3

My device details: SGS3 T999, rooted, running Jellybean 4.3 on a liquid smooth ROM. Its a year old and has been a solid performer up until now.
My device is stuck in a cycle where it gives a quick vibrate, then SGS3 splash screen with white letters, then black screen, then tiny blue "Recovery booting..." words in upper left of screen, then black screen with couple vibrations, and around and around it goes in the same repeating cycle.
Just before it started I had taken the following actions: Dumped the following 2 files onto my EXTSD card (cm-11-20131217-NIGHTLY-d2tmo.zip, gapps-kk-20131119.zip) from my PC, booted phone into recovery mode using TWRP, did a factory reset wipe (success), cache wipe (success), dalvik cache wipe (success), flashed the NIGHTLY file (failed), flashed the gapps file (failed). At this point I should have sought some support. Fool! I next did a reboot step still in recovery mode. Without the reboot happening a message came up stating Superuser permission had been broken (the best I can remember) and the option to have TWRP repair the permission. I opted "yes" to repair. Then the loop started that I can't escape.
I have pulled the battery multiple times, tried a regular boot up, tried a recovery boot up (up volume+power+home) dropping the home button after a few seconds. Nothing is working. Prior to the above steps I backed up everything on the device. So I have backups to use if it can be done. My best guess is that I failed to update my CyanogenMod or TWRP to the very latest versions and it caused this hang up. Otherwise, I don't know what to do and need any help I can get.
Has anyone had this issue or heard of anyone who has and have any helpful suggestions, tips, ideas, etc..?
Thank you in advance. This is my first XDA post. Please forgive and offer tips if this thread needs any scrubbing.
I've had a few similar events for a few different reasons.
I would suggest booting into recovery but it seems you have tried that already.
If the device is plugged into a wall or pc, unplugg it, that has seemed to cause and fix boot issues for me before.
Other than that, I dunno, if you can't get to recovery or fastboot, I dunno...

Viper one black screen

I rooted my HTC One and flashed viper one and it said it was installed sucessfully.
I get taken through the initial setup, but after that, my home screen is black and I can't do anything with my phone. Any idea what is going on and how I can fix it?
Also, I tried rebooting my phone and when it starts back up, it gets stuck on the viper one logo. Its been on the logo for a few minutes now....
I have the same issue. I tried wiping the Dalvik cache but when it rebooted it froze at: "Android is upgrading... starting apps". I turned off the power and when it turned back on it got stuck on the boot ViperOne logo screen.
Did you by any chance get an error saying "Unfortunately, setup has stopped" after the initial setup? I got that, and then the black screen. It was just the home screen that gave a black screen. I could see the lock screen, bring down the notification bar, recent apps screen, I could even get into settings within the notification bar and everything. Just the home screen that's black and not operational.

FIXED!!!!!!
I did get the error saying setup has stopped. Here's what I did to fix it.
From black screen. Reboot into recovery mode. Did a full wipe of my phone (cache, dalvik, system, data, just delete everything...everything will be gone).
Unzipped viperone.zip on my computer to get the boot.img
From fastboot I used adb sideload to push the viperone.zip onto my phone and installed.
Did not reboot after install
Flashed the boot.img onto phone. Reboot.
Everythings working!
Not sure if every step I did was necesarry, but its working great now. I think it had something to do with not completely wiping before the first install. Hope it works out for you.

HTC 516 Desire Completely Bricked?

Hey, I'm new here and I'm generally pretty new to flashing and rooting android phones.
I've been stuck with this the whole day, started at 10am, it's 7pm now and I've still made no progress at all.
Anyway here's the problem....
I've got an HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim, (Europe), and over night the Phone just reset itself while it was charging. Was able to turn it back on in the morning, but eventually it reset and went into a boot loop ( Endless HTC Logo, Sometimes black screen just after).
I couldn't access anything, os I went into CWM Recovery and Wiped/Reset the phone to factory defaults. (Previous owned apparently put CWM on it.)
The problems persisted and the phone wouldn't get past the HTC Logo, not even black screen anymore. I've done some google searches, tried to boot into Fastboot and flash it with SP Flash Tool, found a ROM here, but the Fastboot (Volume Down + Power) Doesn't do anything, phone just boots into HTC logo and stays there.
Tried putting the rom onto an SDcard and installing it through CWM, wiped Dalvik Cache and everything, but once I start to flash the rom in CWM, the process just aborts automatically.
Anyway, I've been doing this the whole day, and I'd appreciate any help, plus, explain like i'm 5 please, since i'm not really that android savvy.
If there's an option to just completely reinstall the Recovery+Fastboot+Android System and it takes a very long time, I'll take it, since I can't really get a new mobile phone at the moment, hence why I'm stuck with the 516 in the first place.
Thanks a bunch for the replies guys
