Greetings PROGRAMs! Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'm at a bit of a conundrum.
I have an HP Slate 7 extreme Nvidia tegra tablet currently running Android 4.3. I just got the update notification this morning and I would like to know if it's safe to update to 4.4.2. I've read the horror stories about 4.4.2 disabling external SD card usage and I just got a 32gb micro SD.
So, should I update? Any help is always appreciated. Thanks!
There are serious bugs in the 4.4 VPN subsystem. If you're a VPN user, absolutely do not upgrade. Even the recent 4.4.4 release does not fix the problems. Easy goog search for details.
Interesting. Thanks for the warning. I don't use a VPN, but will everything else work?

If you root that phone then SD card can be fixed to use. I use 32 GB Sandisk SD card on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus running CM11 Android 4.4.3
Just take a backup (NANDroid backup, not regular data backup) of 4.3 ROM if you want to revert back.

Ah, I see. I'd love to root this tablet but unfortunately, I got it from my job, so I don't know if I should root it if they ask for it back. Still helpful though. Thanks!

Seeing that the NT doesn't have a camera to begin with, it doesn't matter which version you install. Aside from that fact, CM7 is based from android 2.3.7

Galaxy Mega 6.3
Sadly you cannot do it normally with the current 4.2 Mega stock rom.
Either you have to wait for a stock update to 4.4, or use a custom rom.
As far as I know, you still have another option which is the application Foldermount https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
But you need root access IIRC.
There is a way when you are rooted use foldermount or flash the mj2 rom that has the copy to sd function in it.
Thank you guys but I dont have a clue what are you two talking about is there a guide or youtube video//tutorial on that thingy rom or can you type it here i was and ios user before so...
Every ROM from November 2013 forward have Move2SD (in November started first update 4.2.2. in countries which solved that "bug"). Look at Sammfirmware. Just be patient a little and wait first update or install some stock ROM from November/December 2013. There is also some info that we'll get 4.3 i January/February 2014.
Hi, I recently 'reset' my s2 to pass on to my sister. I flashed the cyanfox 2.0.2 (KitKat) ROM I had been using previously without issue, but she is now being restricted with the 2gb app partition I remember from the Gingerbread days. I can't understand why, does anybody know why this is/can offer a fix ?
Many thanks.

Its normal its there in every s2 in every rom
Thanks for that. I suspected that was the case but was told that newer versions of Android had removed that restriction. I obviously didn't have enough apps latterly for it to be an issue. Apps 2 SD card it is then !
Repartition and joice afterwards, no matter what Android ver. or rom you want to mount: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...es/mod-partition-internal-memory-app-t2538947
ps: it's completely on you, like it was on me for doing so. Now I'm a happy bunny with my internal memory partition of 4Gb's, therefore I would advise to use 4GB Pit from there... Plenty of room there.
Hello dear Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 users.
I want to know if there is anybody out here who has done this operation.
Increasing the phone's RAM with SWAP virtual RAM by using SD card partition etc.
I'm not sure if I am clear enough but I think most of you guys will get the idea.
I've been doing some research this couple of days and I found a few methods but unfortunately I didn't came across one that is fully compatible with my specific GT-i9300 model and custom Cyanogenmod 11 ROM.
In this method that I tried recently I head to install MemoryInfo-SWAPcheck app to check if my memory is SWAP compatible. It says that "unfortunately my device kernel is not compatible with SWAP".
Like I said, I want to know if there is some one out there whom like myself had the same phone model (GT-i9300) and custom rom (CM11) and performed this operation.
Or if there is somebody out there who performed this operation on a GT-i9300 using STOCK ROM (Android Jelly Bean 4.3). If I would go back to my custom ROM I would only go knowing for sure that it works.
If so I would appreciate If you could give your methond
Hope my thread isn't that demanding and I will find someone who can give me some tips or advices.
Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to read this thread an potentially help!
Have a gread day everyone!
UPDATE: Flashed STOC ROM, worked!
Hi,
I'm looking for a tutorial on how to restore stock rom on a S2 phone, since my girlfriend's device keeps crashing and freezing quite often.
After reading around for a while, I've seen many people who bricked their phones after messing with the rom.
Is there any good, working tutorial, tried by many people (so it will work for 100%) to restore stock rom of a S2 rooted phone?
I haven't backed up the stock rom anywhere, nor I can download ANY app to the device (the internal memory is full, and couldn't manage to download any app
ever since it became full, even after moving apps to sd card or freeing some data), so external apps ain't going to help here.
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: I9100TJILPD
Core version: 3.0.64-CM-g32f12dd
RootBox version: RootBox-JB-i9100-V4.2
Please help me to help my girlfriend (;
Thanks!

Hey there,
Sure mate, you can always restore your S2 without any other external app. Here is a full featured guide which will bring you to the latest official firmware released for S2 (4.1.2 - Jelly Bean). This guide includes everything from the scratch, that is, from installing Odin/Download Mode drivers.
If you have anything else in mind, feel free to ask.
Regards.
