[MOD] Sensor Disabler - Xposed Framework Modules

Now with Nougat Support!
Shout to Rovo89 for the Xposed Framework, and the various people who inspired this.
Sensor Disabler (previously known as Disable Proximity) is an Xposed application that allows you to disable or modify most of the sensors on your device, including the proximity sensor. It supports Tasker for changing the sensor status (via In-App Purchase), a blacklist/whitelist for choosing how certain apps will respond to Sensor Disabler, and a reliable and efficient way of modifying and disabling sensors without causing unnecessary slowdown on the device.
I can't offer support for phones that I don't own, but if your phone runs a close to AOSP ROM (for instance Nexus devices) or a CM-based/Lineage ROM (which I can easily see the sources for), this should work. If you're having issues, try to gather the logs from the Xposed app that relate directly to this app and post them here as well as your issue. I recommend reading over the logs yourself to see if the issue might be with your Xposed installation and not the app itself.

Thanks. Possibly, using the Hardware Disabler app on the Play Store. I've never gotten that to work for me, though.
There might also be a way to truly truly disable it using Xposed, but I'd need to delve extremely deep into the Android sources. I'll look more into it, but definitely no promises.

Could you make an app that has an interface and that can disable touch?
Basically when I put YouTube on my device and give it to my daughter to watch her cartoons she presses the screen and videos go back and forth and even exit, I've tried searching everywhere for a touch disable option, there's 2 apps on the play store but don't work, are very old and outdated...
If anybody knows where I can find one please let me know....

To get OT for a minute, while this might be possible, there are some inherent difficulties associated with this. You should look into an app like Live Lock: YouTube & Kids Lock for Android. Best of luck!

Hmm. I'll have to wait until I get get the 4.4.4 source straight. Expect an update in a day or so for that.
EDIT: So I've gotten the 4.4.4 source, and I can't see why it wouldn't work. Did you reboot after installing?

A problem that plagued me for a year, gone in 2 minutes. Thank you very much.

That's what I made it for! I'm very happy to help!

Instead of disabling the sensor, you could try recalibrating, as described in this post. it worked for my Sprint GN2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569141

Since the N4 suffers an annoying bug which causes a crackling noise to the headset signal whenever the proyimity sensor is active, I'd like to request an option to disable the sensor only when headset is plugged.
It would be even better if you would consider to integrate your app with Tasker so we could disable the sensor on different contexts too.

I actually have been wanting to try out Tasker support, so I'll look into that. I think I can push an update that'll disable during headphone disconnected only in the next few days, then I'll work on Tasker support.

Thanks for responding so quickly and for considering my suggestions.

Working on HTC Sensation XE running Vipers ROM 5.1.2 (Android 4.1.2)
Thank you very much!!! :good: I finally solved a problem due to the proximity sensor (probably broken) whose wakelock plagued my battery after a call or automatic brightness; thank you!
Noob question: can RILJ wakelock also be related to the proximity sensor?

To be honest, I don't know. I've never come across the RILJ wakelock issue (literally had to Google it to figure out what you meant) but it could be a possibility?
Although, according to this article here, it has something to do with accessing your location.
My two cents is, go ahead and give my app a try and if it works, great! But I don't know anything about the RILJ wakelock issue to provide any concrete data on whether this will fix it or not. Doesn't hurt to try!

[SOLVED] Lockscreen Issue with PAC ROM

Hi,
Hopefully I am writing in the correct place about my issue.
I have the Xperia Z2, rooted, bootloader unlocked, CWM recovery.
I flashed the Unofficial PAC ROM by "rcstar6696" and it works fine with tons of features, my problem is that the phone would not lock securely.
I tried to use PIN, Pattern, Gesture locks and they all do not function, the phone will still unlock with slide.
I tried to reset the phone, same thing. I looked all over the forums and could not find anything about this with Z2.
My friend owns a Nexus 5 and I rooted and flashed PAC ROM onto his phone and the Pattern lock works like a charm.
Is anyone facing the same issue? Any suggestions anyone?
Thanks.
EDIT: I have flashed the latest version from 20th of September cleanly and still facing the same issue.
EDIT: after a few resets and wipes, I noticed that when installing/uninstalling apps. The lock chosen works for a limited time (Usually 6 hours) and then stops randomly.
I am still trying to identify if it's an app causing this.
EDIT: ISSUE SOLVED !!
I reset the device one more time with a clean boot, then while setting it up, I did not connect to my google account. I skipped most of the steps, then set the lock screen, rebooted, added my google account manually.
and VOILA ! phone securely locked.
I do not know how my google account caused this, but it seems to be the reason at the moment.

Xposed would cause it, or any mods or tweeaks because pac is framework sensitive which means even simple mods can cause huge issues

Yes of course, but I just flashed it cleanly and no apps whatsoever (except GApps & Stock) , and still the issue is the same.
I even did not change any of the ROM built-in settings and still, no secure locking.
Oh and trust me, PAC ROM is amazing (if it wasn't for this issue) , made me hate every minute I spent in CM and TouchWiz (on my old S4) :good:
Did you do a complete wipe? I wiped all partitions including media before installing pac.
And yes pac is excellent and perfectly stable, only issues I have is nav bar dpi seems to reset after every reboot, but if I toggle say screen timeout via quick settings it changed to what it should be and active display reboots my phone but I don't use it anyway

I'm not sure how to do that, however, I managed to solve it.
And I am facing the same with nav bar and the PACperformance app, it just doesn't stick after reboot.
EDIT: actually, I just tried a few reboots, the nav bar seems to be fine to me, I did however change the icons via "Android L Navigation Bar" found in the xposed downloads. Maybe that caused it to "stick"?
as for the active display, I would like to use it, but I am a pixel maniac, and that feature isn't FHD yet I guess, so I am not using it either for the moment.

[2.5final][bug][lollipop] Security "SmartLock" Issue with Greenify

I have configured the shortcut "Screen off and Hibernate" with the Google Now swipeup gesture and is working pretty well on Lollipop. Anyway after having enabled a Lockscreen security Pattern and "Smart Lock" I noticed an issue on this side that's pretty annoying.
If I shut off the screen using the Power Button, the Smart Lock is correctly working on the next Wakeup: it recognize my LG G watch or Face or Secure Place and shows no pattern check. If I use the gesture (and so, Greenify) to shut off the screen, my phone is locked no matter where I am or which device is near me (smart lock isn't working).
Could this be worked on?
Thanks
I noticed that too, indeed quite annoying. Would higly appreciate a fix.

The same happens to me in even in version 2.6.1. I detected it in Lollipop 5.0.1 and 5.1 on a non-rooted Nexus 4.
The only current solution is "Boost Mode" with Xposed.
Greenify seems to have updated this to work with Smart Lock but only if rooted. Star this issue to have hope it one day works without root: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=193125

But I have a chromecast and nexus player and it doesn't work on lollipop or kitkat ROMs with my devices

If your using a chromecast the app for casting should have a mirror option that works great

Hi all,
Liking the new Rom but have a couple issues :
GPS seems to lose connection randomly while driving. It happens once every 5-10 minutes while using Waze. I'll try it on Google maps today.
WiFi disconnects and had to be manually restored. It has happened several times at home.

It's his personal project/source. I haven't heard anything about it being updated but I haven't asked him either
my glitches thus far
Hey, so far so good!
I wanted to give some constructive criticism and report my bugs/glitches.
1. Still having to do killall rild after some reboots.
2. I have a random star in my notification, its pretty but a waste of space.
3. Cannot get half of liquid smooth settings to work. DPI, viper EQ, and adblocker as ive noticed. Tried installing viper via recovery
4. Neither snapchat nor instagram will load videos. Snapchat plays black and insta just shows a reload sign. Tried cleaning caches and reinstall apps.
5. Calls come in black and I have to use power button to answer.
6. Knock on doesn't work. (Turned on in settings)
If you guys have solutions please reply! Thanks!
As for the pros
1. Phenomenal battery life, can go over 1 day with moderate use.
2. Smoother than liquid. Never seen lag (especially compared to stock!)
3. So gorgeous!! I love the look of 5.0!!!
4. The modifications that do work are awesome!!

Oneplus X KitKat ROM?

HEY FOLKS!
I'm currently running a cm13 nightly on my OPX but have been plagued with the infamous mobile radio active bug, which has crippled my battery life. After looking for fixes and talking to my developer friend, I have concluded that the only way to avoid this is to revert back to a KitKat ROM. (yes, I have tried the xposed module fix).
Does anyone know if a KitKat ROM has been made for the OPX?
Please help me out because I want good battery life back .
(I get an average of 4 hours SOT on Wi-Fi and about 2 hours SOT on LTE)
The primary culprits are google play services and fb messenger.
Thanks in advance

First of all it is highly difficult and probably impossible. Second, there is no point of it. It leaves device prone to various security vulnerabilities, leave on some optimization and doze. Some apps might not work in future because of end of support.
Google is not admitting google play service and mobile radio active bug, it continues from lollipop to marshmallow and most likely in nougat. It almost kills battery life in mobile data. Even if someone starts development, it would be huge pain with very little to gain.

No kitkat for opx, since no sources were released. If you want a good phone that supports kitkat, buy a refurbished nexus 5, or lg g2.
As long as you turn mobile data off you wont be affected by the bug. Why not use something like leandroid to turn off mobile data after "x" time of the screen being off? It also has the ability to turn it on and off every x time if im not mistaken (so you get notifications). It is not ideal, but it is a good workaround probably (i dont use it because i only use mobile data ocasionally and turn it off after using it so im not affected)

In settings-security-apps with usage turn both off. Turn off all Google sync (except mail.) And I go a far as turning automatic update and such in play store settings. Haven't had an issues since. With messenger skip adding phone number and contacts.

Since it's not in the not working list but also not in the working list I'll ask even though I basically know the answer already.
Is VoLTE/WiFi or IMS services working on 17.1? It's quite literally the only reason I'm still on stock based as in the office building I work there's limited 3G reception and I usually rely on VoWiFi.
I wonder if VpFX is working with this rom, anybody tried viper?

1 - seems to be an issue with lineage at the moment as far as we can tell. (aswell as a few other bugs in their trees at the moment)
2+3 - works fine for me and all the other n9/s9/s9+ users of this rom on telegram, mailbox set the correct number by default for me and i can edit it aswell just tried, loudspeaker/bluetooth speaker is working fine for calling.
Feel free to share logcat if possible, would be interesting to see what has broken it on your setup and not for anyone else, thanks
edit -
just saw you edited your post and removed 2+3, glad you got it sorted.

No clue, wait for lineage to update them in their repos i guess, i don't like 3rd party theming apps.
I am using google contacts and messages, but keeping the stock dialer for native call recording.
Seems pretty sweet but Android Auto is kind of important. You think a fix is possible?
Why is it not mentioned in the instructions that Flashable_G96XF_Firmware_TWRP_DTAD_r2.zip is needed to be able to boot? Without it, a boot loop occurs.
Also, "Hey Google" isn't working properly. It turns itself off after enabling it. I used Open GApps nano. Someone got it working?

If you read, you can see I clearly tell you that Q BL is required. A lot of people are unable to read in 2020 it seems.
Hey Google is working fine feel free to jump on to telegram if you are having issues.

I previously flashed BL_G960FXXU7DTB4.zip from the Telegram channel before flashing the ROM itself. I see that there's now a new BL on the channel: DTAA instead of DTB4. IDK if flashing the DTB4 BL instead of DTAA could've been the reason I wasn't able to boot earlier without flashing the firmware zip.
I'd rather not and discuss it here. When I toggle the "Hey Google" switch on, go back a page to Assistant settings and go back to Assistant Devices > Phone again, the switch is turned off. Even during the time the switch stays on if I stay on the page, Hey Google can't be triggered.
