Ok, I've been away for quite awhile and was wondering if a way to go back to 4.3 from 4.4 was found yet. I was forced into 4.4 due to it coming preloaded on my replacement phone. I have tried the many 4.4 roms available and just don't like 4.4. Being stuck with it is unacceptable.
If I can't find a way out of kitkat I may have to take the drastic and unwanted leap and trade my gn3 for a gn2.
Thanks...

None of which I'm aware.
Why don't you just install a DeOdex rom with root, and put a decent looking theme on there?
You'll at least have 2x the hardware and updated operating system (yeah, I know you want 4.3 back, but that will soon be two operating systems old).
Either way, I wish you all the best.

I loved your themes back on the Galaxy S3, would love to see what you can come up with when you have a little more screen real estate. Welcome!
Lol. I have a themed Rom and 3 additional themes for both the note 2 and note 3. However it's for 4.3 and not 4.4. That's why I wanted to go back to 4.3. Check out the thread for toxic swamp in the gn3 development forum. That's kind of what I'll be doing.

I was just sharing a vidio I found of a stock version of JB on GT-N7000 Note. That's not an official JB ROM however its as closes I've seen on the note. I was wondering if one of the developers for our note i717 could possibly do this. I miss using Snote and Smemo.
As we speak.

There are developers out there right now porting that stock rom over to our phones. I will give it to this time next week before we have anything, hopefully by this weekend.

I've been watching a couple xda developers for the past few days work their magic to get this ROM ported over to the I717. They are making progress slowly but surely. I'm just a pupil so, have patience with the professionals.

I have the verizon Note 2.I'm wondering with the new android 4.2.2 is worth having over what comes with the verizon Note 2.If is worth having, can anyone point me in the direction with it, and pretty much all the programs that come with the Note 2 just with out all of the verizon bloatware. If its not worth having can some one point me to one with the android version that comes with the note 2, but same thing as before with all the samsung apps, just minus the verizon bloatware.I'm not new to loading custom roms, just new to the note 2.Thanks for your time.
No one??? I would truely appreciate and and all opinions/info..... Thank you in advance.....
4.2.2 is AOSP so it has non of the note apps or features. So if you want those stick with the tw based ROM.

Exactly what kintwofan said. If you do end up staying with Touchwiz, the general consensus seems to be with the Beansrom. I have been running it since I unlocked/rooted, and it has been wonderful.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032447
yup beans is best...touchwiz features ith aosp themeing, the best of both worlds!
Well I prefer Eclipse because it's more blacked out and with the AOSP phone/contacts/clock/mms and more. But beans is amazing and more stable at this point based off what I've read.
OP this is where you need to just read a bunch of ROMs decide what you want, make a back up and check them out.

It's for international verison N7100. We probably still need to wait for Verizon's verison.
I'm sure they won't make us wait long...... they are always on the ball and good to us loyal subscribers (nose growing longer with each tall tale)
beamed from transporter room 3
Surely they are able to still port it... Right?
Kinda like how the ACE rom uses the international version for all carriers...
Or, would the LTE functionality be very different than what is in 4.1?
Sent from my Note 2 with Tapatalk
Just depends if they can use the same kind of method to port over this as the other intl roms, however with the older code, not sure if itll all work close enough to be ported soonish

Those roms use the N7105 base (int'l LTE) this is N7100 (non-LTE).
Gotcha, well im sure a 7105 will be leaked in not too long, and then my comment applied to that leak =P

It is possible to port N7100 over to us and add in files to get lte working. @lacoursiere18 ported an N7100 based version of Moon ROM to our phone that had working LTE if I remember correctly.

dam i am so excited. I was waiting for this... yes!
I gave up my note 3 and stayed with note 2 during that verizon weekend for upgrades and keeping unlimited because i knew 4.3 is coming to the note 2 soon. (did order a iphone 5s to sell ^-^ wish me luck of it going through without any problems) I hope they devs here will get us going sooner than verizon. Blah what am i saying... the devs will definitely get us going before verizon even contemplates it! Cant wait.

I wonder if this means that TW ROM developers will keep at it, seems like most of them have stopped updating. Maybe not, considering the Note 3 release...argh.

There's been a number of TW ROMs that have been updated recently like JellyBeans and Alliance. Plus there's also Nephilim as well. Not to mention the continued dev work being done on 4.3 AOSP as well such as CM, AOKP, and Vanir for instance. We're far from dead on this device.
Only way I want 4.3 is stock I just want it now!! But I guess im weird I spent years on CM on the og droid and on my gnex but I guess it just got to be too much for me.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium HD app
VRAMC3 has been out since May, most of the ROMs were updated to it by June. That's almost 4 full months of porting, updating and bug fixing. At this point, there is really nothing left to do with what we have outside of minor updates on the TW side. There hasn't really been anything released on the software side on the international model either in several months, so it's not like we can pull in fixes from them either. When 4.3 is finally released, there will be a lot of activity again as everything is updated to the latest software.
Unfortunately the S Pen features from the Note 3 don't seem to be included. Maybe they'll release later as a premium suite? Hope so

Just wanted to thank everyone, especially surge and the other developers whom has made this device bearable. I received a shiny nexus 6 from my awesome wife for Christmas. I'll be moving on but she will be taking this s4 over. I do hope kexec gets worked out because that will open the doors to new development for all s4 users. Thanks for all the help everyone.
How big is that 6?
I went the opposite way, and got a Moto X dev ed.
Its really nice when your SUPPOSED to be able to unlock the phone, then just flash SU and your good.
Wish verizon would have gotten the N5 (TBH wish the N6 was the size of the N5....)
Hope it works out for you. I know the X is an awesome device, and in some ways the N6 is just a newer purer X... Sure it will be a great phone.
I agree thanks for all of you guys woh work with this phone

Yeah really wish the nexus 5 was on verizon or the 6 was same size as the 5... I feel like I got trolled when they announced nexus 6 on verizon, then released a $700 tablet
You may want to do like I did, and pick up one of those $200 dev edition moto x off ebay/amazon if they are still around. Probably as close to a nexus 5 as your gonna get. Great phone, though not a ton of roms... Most non stock stuff gets rid of the active display and voice commands so people like to stay stock based...(and I think exposed has killed the need for stock based roms). Serriously is really nice when your "supposed to" have custom recovery and root. Not ****ing around, worries about updates taking root away, ect... You just use fastboot to flash recovery and then flash supersu
I want to echo the huge thanks.
Too many of you to think who have developed and contributed, so I hope this will suffice for now. I couldn't get through this without you all from my first root with the HTC Thunderbolt a few years back through the S4. Thank you!!
Chad
