Hi guys, I have been browsing this forum looking for updates on the development for this phone over the last few months and unfortunately it seems pretty stale to be fair. We have achieved root which is a good stepping stone but there have been no attempts at new roms or modifications of any sort so I would like to give you what I have achieved with my G2 Mini.
- Installing xposed framework and using G2 TweaksBox to modify everything to how I like it. As the stock rom is closely based on the original G2, all of the modifications you make will be the same however I cannot get rid of the SIM switching bar in the notification panel
After making these changes my experience of this phone has been greatly improved. I hope this information can help some of you who are desperately looking to modify the ROM to your needs.
*NOTE - You must have rooted your G2 Mini to install xposed framework*
@Vagelis1608 has pointed out that xposed does not work on ART, my bad.
@Garcia98 is working on a custom recovery that will work on locked bootloaders.
Also, I thought that if someone installs xposed on ART, it will get reverted to Dalvik.
Can you confirm if you are actually running ART with xposed active?

The next xposed update should support ART.
So is it safe to root the G2 Mini using Towelroot and is it full root or just half root (they say there ia half root but I don't know what it is). And then after will be the installing of Xposed framework on the phone, is that correct? And then after that ia installing the G2 Tweakbox? All these are safe to install?

Yes, all of them are safe.
So you can go ahead and install them
But, as always, you are responsible for what you do with your device.

Couldn't find a solid answer so i was wondering if there was any way to get the stock jellybean lock screen on my gs3? Im rooted on stock at&t. Im not really looking for any 3rd party apps cause those can be sluggish and not as customizable. Thanks in advance!
Install the xposed framework then install the module for the framework that will do this for you.
Not sluggish and really easy.

Sorry to hear that. After you installed the lockscreen apk did you go and enable it in the xposed framework then restart your device?

Sorry but I can't help you any further as I had only just started getting into xposed framework and hour before I saw your post which is the only reason I seen that mod.
Is there no app in the play store for this?

There was an app called holo lockscreen or something but no security options or widgets and such. Plus there was a pretty annoying lag time in actually locking the device.
Doesn't seem to exist?
Wanted: custom rom with custom ROM tweaks with pie control with pie notifications, stable with working Viper4android and Super SU
(not superuser#) TWRP or Philz recovery.
Bounty: I'll donate $20.00, I promise! I am happy to support my daily drivers. I am tired of flashing this device. If $20 is not enough please suggest a price.
Do you mind installing each of them manually? Or you simply want them built in? Also, in which Android fw are you? Which fw you want to be?

JB 4.3 would be nice
happy to install manually but i think viper4android prefers supersu per op viper op notes, also need viper4android to be a system app that way it survives ram clear. the other issuse would then be clockwork recovery insists on rooting superuser# binary not supersu. Kernel govners to if possiable. im using a 32g wifi xperia tablet z pollux windy.
would you be willing to take on project?
I can help you to install all you want. You said you want 4.3 stock ROM. That shouldn't be hard. I just need to know in which Android version you are so I can prepare everything up.
Add me on Hangouts: [email protected] to talk more...
CM 10.1 FXP301 build. Then I installed no bloat and delated CM updater for peace n quiet.
Then I replaced supersuser# with supersu
Then i Edited build.prop to false on all lpa entries. Moved viper to system, app then installed
Team Freexperia! Camera works with video record and this ROM puts out now better audio quality then all other custom ROMs for xperia tablet z

Hmmm, where to begin...
First off, you need to be rooted in order to install XPosed. If you aren't comfortable being rooted, then you needn't look any further into this and the rest of my post is a waste...
If you are ok with rooting your phone, then let's go down the rabbit hole!
There are a lot of mods here on XDA. They typically require root access or a custom recovery (TWRP or other) to install. These work really well, but once you install them, they are very difficult to uninstall. And if you install a second mod, it might break your first mod. This makes it difficult to troubleshoot issues.
The XPosed Framework allows modders to make customization packages (mods) which do not technically modify your system files. A good way to think of it is that these changes are done in an emulated way. You can install and uninstall mods without fear that their impact will linger on your system. It's a very powerful and robust modding system and, in my opinion, the way to go for people not wanting to go fully into flashing ROMs.
There is a giant list of XPosed Modules that you can try out. I'm not here to make a review of all the various modules out there, but look for those specifically for KitKat and for TouchWiz (Wanam XPosed is a good place to start).
If you have any more questions on XPosed, just let me know!
Hope this helps!

Thank you sir. I installed it with wanam xposed and got spooked so, I unistalled it. I used the towel root method to root my phone. So, I can keep knox at 0x0. I missed being on xda and I like roms and tweeks but I have a galaxy note 3 of course so me having a custom rom is outta the question. Coming from a galaxy nexus. Thanks for your help. So xposed is a cydia type of app for android stock firmware.

After using this mod, I've realised that many apps on the play store doesn't recognise my device.
It shows that my device is incompatible with those apps.
How can i fix this ??
Please refer to the screenshots below, these apps used to work on stock lollipop but noe it shows incompatible
I also have this issue with the Play Store. I didn't check to see if it was this way with an odex fw because I deodexed almost immediately after installing LP because I must have my xposed =)
I did find this while scouring google for an answer...
"...this has to do with the new Android lollipop version. The app, you want to download is not designed for the new Runtime "ART", which is implemented with Android Lollipop. Therefore it is not possible to download the app. Remedy, unfortunately, can only be done by the programmer of the app."
Edit:
I figured out that deodexing all the apks caused this, not sure which exactly. I've created a mini deodex, found here, which has worked for myself and a few others.
how to fix the updating problem?
flash pre-rooted Lp on a locked BL xperia z2 get from canada Bell.
fully root and rec are both well done, also fixed the xposed bootloop....^_^
but there is a big problem....
Everytime I reboot the phone. System needs to updating the art-cache for all the apps in the system. it's like the first time I flash the rom...
please, I need help........
How to fix Google Play issue? (, not only CoC but also Messenger (FB) can't install too (

Don't deodex the framework. This is what causes the play store incompatibility issue.

Yeah, i know, but is there any way to fix this after we have deodexed it? Or do we have to restore backup made prior to the deodexing and flash the deodex rom again
without deodexing the framework?
Will xposed work with odex framework?

To restore it, just flash the prerooted room again. You won't lose anything except recovery so after android loads, run byeselinux to regain recovery.

Play Store issue
My Xperia Z2 have only one issue, I can’t install some apps in play store. Only one day fully working. I don’t have problems with opengl. live wallpapers works good. I have xposed and ten modules (gravity box lp, app settings, lucky patcher, 20mp and others) and works good, without boot loops.
Someone know how to fix play store issue?
Thanks.
Sorry for my English.
I've got working, xposed just with a debloat script. All working fine included the play store.

Z2, locked bl.
works with .726?
So, does this works with the new 23.1.A.0.726 firmware?
SO since we have successfully rooted and unlocked the phone
its time to finally optimize the performance and user experience for the phone
so post your suggestions, experiments or tweaks you already know .
so starting off first will obviously be the removal of stock apps and also the crashmonitor.apk
i also use setCPU for screenOFF and gaming profiling and governor switching
I still am not sure which i/o works best, cfq or any else so suggestions are welcome
i am trying some tweaks to so will update soon
CHEERS !
Greenify for battery optimization!
Also Flashing Xposed and running several mods. I highly recommend Apps Ops Xposed. You can manually select any apps/system apps and prevent them from causing wake locks/alarms and draining battery...
Hey i tried to use a custom bootanimation .. Replaced the file .. Gave permissions.. But it doesn't work...
So can anyone upload the stock bootanimation.. Or any working one if anyone has modified it?
well did remove the crash monitor.apk doesn't break the phone?

Well since i have rooted my C5 for fews days...from first time,i forgot to clear the (recovery.from.boot.p) and the phone lost the TWRP recovery on first time..and then i try to reformat and reroot again but this time i went in to system/ and clear the (recovery.from.boot.p) and flash supersu ver 2.66 (not provided by Bigrammy. It went smooth on few trys without any problem and i can reboot to recovery mode...but after i install busybox, the recovery become lost.At first i thought is the superSU not compatible with our device C5..and i went again to reformat and unlock bootloader and flash the recovery once more.....and the conclusion is the recovery won't stick as it seems to be after flashing.
It sticks for me... Try reflashing and repeating the steps?

Me too. I'm with version 5.0, rooted and will not bother updating until Marshmallow 6.0 is released & ROOTED!
Until then I'd rather have 5.0 rooted than 5.1 unrooted. I have many apps requiring root and also use Xposed. I cannot live without root.
