HairyBean v2.31 problem - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi, I just installed HB 2.31 on my Asus TF201 and im having an issue. The problem is every time I plug it in to charge it keeps making the "ding" sound and coming out off sleep. Once it wakes its fine charges like normal till I let it go to sleep again, then same thing it dings and wakes up. I'm using the wall charger and this is on a fresh install. The problem only happens on this rom, works fine on stock and other custom roms. Sorry I would post this in the DEVDB but I don't have enough posts.

Usually caused by using a third party charger or, in my case, using US charger with UK adapter.
Not really a problem since it charges fine. If the screen coming on annoys you, put something over the top :good:.

You're right it is a third party charger. Thanks for the quick reply.

Phone Says Its Charging When Unplugged From Charger

My phone just started acting this way. When unplugging from the charger it starts acting like when you first plug it in to charge. It will give the charging beep and charging icon on the notification bar. I was on stock rooted (wife's phone, she gets pissed when i play with it), switched to Unoriginal 1.4.6 to see if this would cure the issue, it took awhile but started doing it again. I'm guessing this is the reason why the battery life has gone to hell too. Phone constantly waking up. Any suggestions?

go back to stock, completely. if the issue persists, warranty the phone out if you can. Sammy's are known for USB port issues. I've had 2 phones, an infuse, and an i777, with the issue, and had no problems getting a new one, But, I was in warranty with both devices.
O and before you do that, have you cleaned out the port?
The port appears to be clean. I took some compressed air and blew it out. I installed shostock 2 this time and let the phone charge to 100%. Took it off the charger, its been on battery for about 4mn, battery dropped to 99% and it started acting up again saying it was charging. It really goes wonky when the battery drops to 98%.
I was getting that for a while too. I'm not sure if yours is the same as mine, but check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520528
For me, pushing the usb pin up towards the screen stopped it.
Yeah, sounds like you are seeing the symptoms of a USB port problem.
There was quite a spate of them around November - I had to warranty out my phone for it. I think early on one or two people had success with the alcohol on a paintbrush cleaning method, but most took the warranty route. I warrantied before trying the alcohol clean-out, but canned air did nothing for me.
Just curious how this could be a bad usb port, i only have this issue when the phone is unplugged. The wife had it all day and she said it didn't act up. It only did it once for me after putting shostock rom on.
few threads out there on this. really known issue. heres my thread that i made on this if you want to read...basically i just got a warranty exchange

It seems after installing the custom rom this issue has gone away. It took a few charges.

Good to hear. If it happens again just get it exchanged and everything should be good.

Easy Fix
Had the same problem. Very easy to fix. Push the connector up towards the screen using a small flat head. Problem solved.
Or fix it yourself. Very easy repair.

[Q] Vibrant not charging.

Alright so my Vibrant won't charge. I JUST recovered my phone from a brick, (I was having issues with the battery life on Slim Roms 4.0 compared to 3.9--in the middle of flashing back I accidently wiped my internal memory. As I was recovering it using Odin, my fat cat jumped on my bed and caught on my phone cord bricking it.) Flashed using Heimdall and was able to get my phone into working order.
Now, I placed Slim Roms 4.0 back on my phone initially after the unbricking to have something working on it, even though the battery life less than impressed me.
So I charged it like normal yesterday, got it to 100% and was fine and dandy with it working. (Still sucking up battery life like a vampire in a fat camp.)
So the update 4.1 went live yesterday, I flashed it immediately to that. The battery life was amazing! So I do the normal thing when I flash to a new ROM. Let it die completely before charging it completely. It's now dead and will not charge.
Symptoms;
I plugged in my normal cable for work (a cheap cable I purchased off of Ebay.) And up comes the round loading symbol. Followed by a darkening of the screen, followed by nothing.
One thing to note, is while it has it's loading circle on, the bottom buttons light up when I touch them.
My Steps;
-I attempted different USB ports since I charge through my work computer. No luck.
-I "borrowed" my co-workers USB cord and USB to wall plug. Attempted the new cable in the computer first. No luck.
-Plugged the borrowed USB into the wall charger. Same thing happens.
-Used my own cheapy cable in wall charger. Same thing.
-Took co-workers complete set and plugged it in in a different room. Nothing.
-Took out my battery, plugged in USB, placed battery back in. Nothing.
-Hold down the Vibrant buttons to get into Bootloader, it resets the loading circle and nothing more.
So now I'm sitting here wondering what to do. I do not have rubbing alcohol readily available, however since it charged to 100% yesterday I do not believe that is the issue, but I'd be willing to try if I had access.
Something you should know, I am using a Samsung Epic 4G battery in my phone.
-For those who might judge saying it is dumb, I have gotten 54 hours out of that battery on one ROM before, that is with texting, talking on the phone and installing apps. I'm fond of this thing, however I have my stock battery at home still.-
Any suggestions you guys have would be appreciated. I have tried things that I found on this forum and basic tech support to no avail. (I am at work so the things I can use are fairly limited. However cords are of no shortage.)
Alright, I unplugged my phone from being plugged into the wall charger for an hour and 3 minutes later it decides to turn itself on.. Not sure what's going on but I'm not going to complain.
So my question now is, can anyone explain this or help prevent this in the future?
From what I've heard draining a battery until it dies can damage it. But, I'm not an expert on that. It's possible that the battery needed more time to recover from the drain.

I had something similar happen when running lithium volt ROM. My battery completely died and the phone cut off (obviously.) I plugged it in the charger and it immediately tried to boot the phone up but it was bootlooping at the startup screen. I let it sit there for 20 minutes or so thinking maybe it is charging but as soon as i unplug the charger the phone cut off. Luckily I have an extra battery, popped it in, flashed a new ROM thinking that was the problem, turns out it was something to do with the ROM(maybe it needed a certain amount of battery power to boot up). My completely dead battery worked on the cm7 ROM I flashed, plugged in the charger and it booted up normally and started charging.

Yea it could be ROM related but it also could be a number of other things. Hopefully flashing a new ROM will fix the issue.

Thank you. I might just have to downgrade back to 3.9. It's almost a shame. xD
I'm going to test my old battery in this ROM just to make sure before I downgrade.
You need to use your Samsung usb charger, and wall adapter only. These two are the only ones that will actually work. I had this same problem and realized it was because I wasn't using the Samsung stuff. Even when pugging into the computer, use the Samsung USB cabe only. As for the battery your using... I wouldn't recommend it, no matter the fantastic battery life you must be getting.

Daw it's a fellow Samsung battery.
Thank you about the cable, I need to purchase another one anyways, mine at home seems to not be connecting very well. :/
ROM. some roms do that. it will not let you power up while charging if the battery is very low. you will get the circle and the battery symbol after. sometimes you still cant unless you pull the battery. happened to me many times

Anyone else having this problem?

My HTC One for some reason is showing performace stutters and audio stutters im on 1.29.666.17 its an unlocked bell phone. im on stock so not rooted at all and when the phone is charging and i have the screen on to check emails and texts the battery drops. Not sure if its only my phone or is anyone else have a similar problem?

Charging via USB on PC it is possable the phone will use more than the usb port will supply. Charging from the wall is another story. Battery should not be draining while plugged to the wall at all. I have never seen any what you call Stutters on my phone. It's the smoothest operating device I have ever owned (including 2 iPhone's). Maybe you should consider a return before it's too late.

I am charging from the wall and I have had the phone for about a month now I don't think I can return it, The Source has a 14 day return policy for cellular products. The phone was running smoothly until recently and I'm not sure whats wrong with it.

You could try charging it with the phone powered off until its full, disconnect the charger, boot it and plug the charge back in and leave it until its full again usually just a few minutes, your battery calibration may be going wonky, You may also want to factory reset the device after doing this. If none of this helps then you should start making calls to resolve it.

Wireless charging glitch?

So I use wireless charging every night when I go to bed. Three times since I have owned the phone I have woken up late, my alarm not having gone off, and the LED notification light is on just continuously cycling between all the colors. I have to reboot the phone to get it to stop. Like I said, has only happened three times, but just since I started wireless charging. One of the times was prior to rooting, so that is not the issue. Anyone else had this problem?
I'm not sure what is causing your troubles. I am also rooted and wireless charge every night. Maybe your charger doesn't have a high enough amp rating. Or you may be loosing power in a long cord. I haven't had any trouble with mine. Good luck
Maybe the phone is overheating. The G3 has overheating paranoia, and can act really strange when it gets hot.

It is warm some times when I take it off the charger, but never really hot. I will try a different USB cable, and maybe a new charging pad and see if that makes a difference. But wouldn't it just shut down if it got too hot?

I rem in the past when I tried a Qi pad (kind of like the insert our G3's have) and it didnt line up 100%, it caused weird issues. Are you using a pad that you switched out for your NFC stock one? Or did you buy a complete back with it?

Which Qi do you have? I have the TYLT and not had any issues. I have read others saying they have issues with the TYLT knock off and some other randoms, so maybe you have one of those?
I know its hard to try and figure random things out, so hang in there buddy.

So I disabled Tasker (I had it set up to disable wifi and mobile data when wireless charging and when between the hours of 10:00 and 6:00) and I am no longer having issues with the phone being warm in the morning when I take it off the charger. Is it possible that this is a Tasker issue (as far as the flashing unresponsive LED) and if so, anyone know why or how to fix it? And I was definitely using Tasker prior to rooting as well.

Magnetic Charging Issue(Blinking after reach 90%+)

So, anyone having the same problem here? I already reported this issue to Sony support forum. And yeah, theres alot of people having the same issue like this. The LED will start blinking right after it reach 90% above. Its very annoying to check it all time.
This is happened to me almost everytime i charge my phone. This is kinda software bug, or something to do with rooted or recovery installed? Since i have a rooted and recovery installed on it. Or maybe the problem is with the magnetic cable usb?
Nopee.. Nothing of that sort for me ...

So, i bought a new brand magnetic charging adaptor called "MAGNECTOR X2". This solved the blinking charging issue. Yeah i was right, theres nothing to do with lollipop update or software. ROFL! I recommended for u guys also.
Stronger magnet
More stable
Can be used with all type micro usb cable
Easy to carry
*Search at youtube "magnector x2" for more detail.

I suggest u try with another diffrent magnetic charger, if the prob still there, do a clean install by using flashtool. Hope that will help, since my problem already solved by changing the usb cable/magnetic charger it self.
For your information, charging your phone to 85% or 90% rather than 100% doubles it's battery life cycle (as in amount of discharge/charge cycles it can survive through). This is something you should care about as the back of the phone is not openable.
I'd want mine to blink after 90%

He won't buy another cable due to OS bug, and also he won't wipe his data for sure. We will see if the next update changes something.
