I have a Galaxy Prevail 2 that is rooted and has a CWM based recovery. Today after watching a few videos on it, I cleared the RAM using the built in Task Manager as I do after using a few apps, then returned to the home screen, turning the screen off. About 20 minutes later I go to check my phone and it has the Samsung boot image on the screen, Sometimes it resets itself and gets stuck there, and it's usually fixed by removing the battery. But now, even after factory resetting from the Recover it won't boot into Android, it just stays on the pulsing Samsung logo, even after 3 hours, vibrating every now and then. It has the stock ROM on it as I can't find any ROMs that are listed as supported. I think the ROM may be corrupted, but I'm not sure. I want to know if anybody knows a ROM I can flash onto it to see if it boots. Please respond with haste, I need my phone working again by tonyte, as i have plans. I don't mean it in a rude way, I just really need my phone.

I have an international version of the Samsung GS2 that i am using on At&t. A few weeks ago i noticed that my phone would suddenly turn off while in my pocket or just left alone. Then, one time i tried turning on the phone and saw that the phone got stuck on the boot animation screen with blue markings all around it. I took out the battery and put it back in a few times and was finally able to get the phone to work.
Today, the same thing happened. The phone turned off i tried to restart it and it got stuck on the boot animation screen (Galaxy S logo). It has these blue markings around it and it can't get past it. The phone isn't rooted and i have not tampered with the system files. I've only updated it once, from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. I tried factory resetting it but nothing changed and its still has the same problem.
I have a suspicion that it might be caused by the fact that i've dropped the phone a few times. What do you guys think could be the problem and what are my choices in getting it fixed? Would flashing a stock rom help fix the problem?
I would suggest flashing the Stock Rom Through Odin as i once has an issue with massive yellow streaks kind of like what you are getting after a flash before.
I went ahead and flashed a few roms from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278. The flashing worked fine but it still can't get past the bootup screen and the blue marks are still there.
Would calling Samsung and asking for support get me anywhere?
How long did you wait after flashing the rom? The worst way you could have messed up is by choosing the wrong files in Odin. Did u check that again?

I flashed the rom and rebooted and saw that it was still the same. Does it matter which rom i chose? I tried two or three different roms from the thread. I though they were all stock roms...
I have an old S2 running wananm's JB ROM which until recently, could not boot up all of a sudden. It just gets stuck at the Samsung Galaxy SII logo with the yellow triangle on it. I did a factory reset and it worked after that, until a month later where I am having the exact same problem. This time I fulll wiped it and flashed NeatROM Lite 4.4 on it, but now the phone stucks in boot loop at the samsung boot up animation. Pulling out the battery and putting it back results in the previous issue where it gets stuck at the Galaxy SII black screen with yellow triangle. I boot into recovery and did one more factory wipe, but this time it goes back to being stuck with a boot loop.
Any ideas whats wrong? The phone is pretty old, could it be dying? Before all this happened I did not do any modifications to the phone like flashing new mods, scripts, OC, UV..etc
Flash a official stock firmware from sammobile.
After this root and flash Rom again.
PS: Check ur downloads and if u have the correct Rom for ur phone version (i9100/i9100p/etc)

I already flashed the stock ROM via odin. It is now unrooted. Been using it for a week and the issue just happened again. I now realised that it only happens when I attempt to replace the battery. I have two packs, both are official, one that came with the phone and another which I ordered online. After shutting the phone down, remove the old battery, put in the new one, attempt to boot up, it just gets stuck at the Samsung screen. The only solution is to do a full wipe. Could it be some sort of corruption?
Sure it can.
So if it only happens with it, it maybe corrupt in itself or maybe it's not directly for ur phone/android version etc....
So just don't use it, but that for u have a full working phone

Yeah it might not be android related, but it still is strange.. And I don't believe it'stthe battery screwing it up either. I'll try rooting it and see if it manages to boot up. If not I'll go back to an ICS ROM and see how it goes. Because I only notice all this happening ever since flashing JB. I hope it lasts til July so I can trade it in for the S4.
1. The galaxy hangs during normal work(it had custom ROM but was working fine for years), the display showed messed up image and was unresponsive, had to remove the battery(so it was caused by bug or flash storage error).
2. The galaxy could no longer be booted, it was stuck on Samsung Galaxy S II screen and in bootloop(if the flash storage partitions are bugged, I guess it can't boot the SPL and the device is stuck in the main bootloader, is it located in separate ROM chip or in the storage flash chip?).
3. It couldn't boot to recovery, only to download(odin) mode(again I guess it's part of the bootloader on the separate rom chip).
4. Tried to reflash, had to interrupt the operation because it didn't started at all(no progress on NAND write flash).
5. Tried to repartition with .pid file, again no progress with the operation.
6. After that, the device is completely dead, we tried removing the battery, using the charger and other common stuff but it can't be started anyway.
So can the failed repartition/flash operations bug the ROM bootloader so when you press the power button the CPU can no longer execute any instruction(I guess it's hardwired to some init instructions in the bootloader).
Any information about the internal storage chips or any ideas what to do?

Hi I've got the same problem with my phone since i've updated my cm13 on sgs II phone seemed to be working perfectly but around month later woke up and saw that my phone stuck on samsung logo (Same as your did) what i've done was restart to see is it works or recorvery boot up but nothing seemed to be happening. After some time decided to reinstall OS using odin but phone been comp[letely inresponsible to what i've tried to put on it (always been stuck on Nand write start (tried everything)). I tried to repartition it again but after that same as your phone died without any sensible reason. I "temporary" fixed it by pealing off the motherboard specific conductor. It even boot up but afterr that i runned out of charge died again. I can feel that phone is starting to be warm just like it's working but i still have black screen of death, so is there anybody who might actually help with this thread ?

hello everyone, my stock s6 edge on rogers is stuck in a boot loop all of a sudden, fully stock and unmodded, running 5.0.2. i was just walking and listening to music through bluetooth headphones and all of a sudden it stopped, and i looked at my phone and it was rebooting. so i just waited and its still stuck in a boot loop after an hour. it gets to the lock screen sometimes, and then after like a second or 2 just reboots again. i have not tinkered or have done anything to my phone either, and had no issues with random reboots ever, so i have no idea what could have happened
some extra info, when it reboots it doesnt always go to the galaxy s6 edge screen, it sometimes just shows the samsung logo with the animation. i have also tried to wipe cache and that didnt work either. after a few reboots however the stock theme was applied at some point. also i tried booting into safe mode and that also didnt work.
i really dont want to wipe my phone, but i will if it is absolutely necessary. so if anyone has any other suggestions that i can try out it will be very much appreciated!
thanks!

I have had said problem before under the same circumstances (although it was with a different phone)
Try using Odin to install the stock Firmware.
A thread explaining how is right here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841
If you don't want the firmware listed in that thread, download from Sammobile.
While some users say it does not wipe the phone, it wipes every time I use it
If this does not work, you should get a warranty replacement.

Thank you for the reply!
weird thing is it fixed itself .. few hours after it started it just booted back up and didnt reboot again, and has been running fine for the past couple hours. but if this happens again i will know what to try next time
So i have a galaxy s5, was running Cyanogenmod 12
my phone was freezing and rebooting then eventually it was stuck and would only boot into download mode
so i cut my losses and flashed stock 4.2 and 5.1.1 (files from samMobile matched model number) and the problems persist
cleared cache and factory reset multiple times and booting in safe mode doesn't fix anything
the phone freezes on samsung splash screen usually mid animation, sometimes i get to tmobile screen when it freezes.
sometimes it will boot without any problems and work normally for a few seconds then freeze and shut off into the same loop
i have searched and can't find any advice past (flash stock and your good )
oh and knox counter 0X1 (2) so no warranty for this guy.
What a helpful forums
I would recommend taking out your sim card and memory card before doing a factory reset. Once done let it boot and see what happens. If it works ok aka boots fine let it sit for 10 min. Now power it down and put your sim card in only and boot up again. Wait the 10 mins again to see if anything happens. If all good power off and put the memory card back in and repeat. Also do not sign into your google account while doing this. Do not sync anything. Just do it bare bones. If everything seems to go well, then you can slowly start putting stuff on and syncing things. when you notice it starting to happen undo the last thing you change/added. Hope that helps. And remember to be nice. Sometimes it takes a while to get help. Being rude isnt the answer pal. Good luck and hope you had a good holiday.

after all that, doesnt it sound like a problem with hardware? sure is a lot like when a pc is malfunctioning (due to overclock or damage, etc)
my only ideas are try turning it on in cold weather, plugged into wall power, & an extreme case... maybe modifying a kernel to give a little more voltage to the cpu & gpu... the idea is a bit out there, but again with the pc example, there's a chance for it to do the trick, but also chance to accelerate damage IF it's entirely based on usage (but if it's dying already, there's no going back)
my pc gpu failed in an interesting way a few years ago, i was playing limbo of all things, not a demanding game, capped at 60fps, then the whole system froze randomly, so i restart, start game again, froze again, think i had one more go until artifacts appeared on screen & it froze/bsod'd as soon as the driver loaded, a clear hardware death
Same Problem
