Wait for all the water to dry up. The speaker quality should be back to normal after the water is gone.
Blow into the speakers, that's what I do

Hi
I've read that when XTZ speakers get wet makes them muffled, which s normal if there is water in the holes.
But there is something strange I observe. When I get my XTZ-3G wet, one speaker is muffled, but the right one is complete OFF - no sound whatsoever from it. And when the speaker is halfway dry it works, but I observe a buzzing sound coming from it with the music...
This is not observed with the right speaker. And when tablet is dry - 30min later speakers sound OK.
Is it possible to be defective, etc to get water damaged?
I checked the ports and they stay dry, indicators are not visible .

Officially you should wait at least 3 hours for the speakers to dry, but my own experience is in line with yours, 30+minutes. For me, the right speaker was clogged badly too but I assumed it was because the Right speaker was submerged longer. It played sound, but very muffled and distorted. I'd recommend doing as Sony says and avoiding use of the speakers till dry if you want to avoid damage.
is anyone having trouble talking on the phone after putting the phone in the water? the other person on the phone can't seem to hear me but it is ok when i put him on speaker phone. the problem will be gone after awhile..
Its because the mic are covered with water.

so is it happening to your device too after you put it in water? any way to dry out the microphone instead of waiting for hrs?
This problem was encountered on the z1 but should have been addressed with the z2.... Sony!!!
Hi, the problem is not because the wather... I was with the same and it solved by "Settings > Call Settings" and UNCHECK the option "MICROPHONE NOISE SUPPRESSION".
Have fun!
[EDIT]
sorry, I make a test putting my Z2 in the water and comprove that's this problem is really exactly like osbertc0ol says... The mic stay covered with water and makes the call sucks!
the most viable solution I see would blow the microphone after watering it.

Does the blowing to the microphone work?
Sorry to reply like that, but RTFM!
"If the speaker or microphone get wet, their function may be impacted until the water
has completely dried. Please note that the drying time can be up to three hours
depending on the environment."
It happens to all waterproof phone / gadgets, microphone and speakers are protected with a waterproof membrane, that gets blocked when it's wet.

Yes, it helps to dry faster microphone.
Like Luinwethion says... this happens with all Waterproof phone.
So the way is to avoid getting unnecessarily watering!

the Mic in the Z2 has a problem full stop . mine has never been wet.
Yeah that's normal. Either blow, or tap the bottom of the phone on a dry towel several times or just suck on mic pores with your mouth and this solves it.

You do know the phone is waterproof right? ?
Or you could use a cotton swab if you're afraid of getting the phone wet.
Maybe if you use this gel thing for keyboards cleaning
Just a thought! Haven't tryed it
its clean from outside ..but when led glows it seems dirt patches has penetrated the grill

That is highly unlikely. The phone is waterproof and dustproof. Just rinse the phone in tap water.
camera overexposed the led..but it looks bad in real
Will it have front facing speakers, or on the bottom, or on the back.
At present, we are having the best smart phones with front facing speakers online.

What does that even mean? He's asking about the G5 specifically. I think it will still be on the back.

Always try and remember that English may not be someone's first language.
On Topic: I'm hoping that the speaker is at least on the bottom. Back speakers kinda blow.
Bottom as on the renders I can't see a speaker at the rear. I don't think I know of of a metal phone with speakers on the back? I am sure there is but can't think of any.
It's on the bottom, check the photos on AP
When I watched the livestream, I could have sworn they pointed to the grate on the top of the phone saying that was the speaker.. Maybe I misremembered, so I'll go back and watch again. Okay so yeah the speaker is on the very bottom of the phone. Looks like 3 dashes.
Looks like bottom speakers from the videos, and I hope it is cause I'd much rather have bottom speakers than back speakers.
Anybody got a trouble with the speaker mine start to glitch at high level this morning. My g5 is 2 month old...
