Thanks a lot
i will try that right now
PM me if you have any issues. I've fastbooted 3 or 4 times now.
just the VRZ_XT912_6.5.1-73_DHD-11_TA-3_1FF_02.xml is over a GB size, and it is taking forever to get downloaded, just waiting for it, otherwise i have everything else ready...
Thanks in advance buddy
do u think i should install safestrap? i mean after booting? is it safer?
I've used CWM and Safestrap, both work well. Safestrap gives you the advantage of basically being able to dual boot your system while leaving your primary ROM untouched, good for testing and messing around. I don't personally care for CWM, some people like it, just a matter of preference.
Yeah, the file is huge but once you have the fastboot files you don't have to worry about bricking your phone as long as you can get into AP Fastboot mode.
Quick question...did you try to wipe data/cache? When I had my DX ran into this same issue and needed to do a simple wipe. Just a thought.

I have a simmilar problem as described above. But my problem is that when I try to flash the ROM via RSD, it flashes just one file, and then I get an error stating that I am low on battery...
Is there anyway to charge it whitouth buying a factory cable?
The method of velocity doesn't work either for me.
I feel lost whitouth my motorola
Fixed the problem with a factory cable. If someone in Switzerland needs help, PM me!
Hiya all,
I`ve rooted my razr xt910 and backed up my stockrom, But i`ve been playing around with somefiles like battey 1% bootscreen , launchers etc.
but now i`m not getting a display after the first M appears i get the sound which i`ve put there but nothing else i just get a small vibration every few seconds. i`m guessing this is a bootloop. I`ve tried restoring the backup but this is doing it aswell. i havent tried a custom rom yet as i dont like them.

cheers, i`ll try it later, just going to try some roms first. thought i might awsell since i`ve messed up stock
I'll get straight to the problem, im feeling helpless here..
The problem is :
I am from India, i have Motorola Razr XT910. i had rooted my phone and then i flashed the leaked jb 4.1.2 ota update for droid razr in U.S
I flashed this into my stock referring to RAZR GUY's video tutorial.. I was able to boot to stock only through Boot Menu Manager.
Today i wanted to Flash CM 10.1 i.e. 4.2.2 on my mobile, so i saw the video and i installed SafeStrap (i also had Boot Menu Manager, which i thought wouldn't make any difference). Now what happened is, When i start my phone, the bootscreen of SafeStrap appears-> i try to boot to stock-> I end up in Boot Loop -> And now i cant get to BMM bootscreen (and hence i can't boot to Stock).
Im stuck at Bootload Screen of SafeStrap. Please guide me what shall i do ? I am a total newbee in flashing and rooting etc..
I believe ya stuck wiyh bootloops because ya installed ss3 with bmm and both slots mismatched with each other . Ya do not have to worry ya have just soft bricked ya phone . What all ya need to do is just download a fastboot for ya xt910 and flash that and profit
I believe ya knowing flashing method .
Please hit that thanks button if i helped ya

Hey Thanks for the help. I used the unbricking to remove the root access.
But still im getting the Customer ID Error on boot and im going in bootloop if i dont use BP TOOLS.
I searched online for d solution- you need to have CID.img backup file of your phone WHICH i had backed up.
i found it. Now i just want to know how to restore it on my RAZR XT 910
I tried Various Methods to restore it, but all unsuccessfull
Awaiting your reply .. THanks
Ya need to root ya xt910 again if ya have lost root access then follow the steps i mentioned down
Once ya restore ya cid just reboot ya mobile and normal switch it on . This would work for sure and let me know
Thx

1.Then enter into recovery and wipe your data and cache.
2.Power off your phone Reboot using bp tools
3. Root your device (ya need to root ya phone if ya have lost ya root access)
Remember while rooting when the tool reboots your device press the vol- and vol at the same time when the phone switches off to enter in boot menu mode and reboot using bp tools mode, other wise u will see a black screen everytime you reboot.
4. Once done restore your cid using terminal emulator.
code: dd if=/sdcard/cid.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk1p18

droid razr maxx 4.1.2
This is what my phone says when it turns on! encryption was interrupted and cant complete, as a result the data on your phone is no longer accessible.
to resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. when you set up your phone after the reset, youll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your google account.
it gives me a reset button but when I press it my phone just restarts and says the same thing???
I had just rooted it using razr blade and it worked great but I wanted to have clockworkmod to be able to do any recoverys if needed. I downloaded a bootstrap recovery that I found and it worked fine. I did this because rom manager didn't support my phone, I gave it superuser access and clicked boot in recovery to make sure that it worked. it did, and looked just like clockworkmod recovery even said clockworkmod recovery. anyways I clicked normal boot to restart my phone and now im here... any ideas on what I can do??? I don't have any backups yet I didn't get that far.
Have you considered using a different recovery? BMM and Safestrap (i use the latter) are current ,proven, and reversible. As for correcting the problem, I'd just wipe the slate clean. That's what RSDlite is for.

im pretty sure im screwed, its cause i cant turn on usb debugging to connect to anything ive been trying everything all day and no luck so idk..
You were using RSDlite in fastboot mode, and the computer didn't recognize the device? USB debugging isn't an option when you're outside of the OS, so it's just a matter of having the right USB cable and Moto drivers installed.

i downloaded my 4.1.2 firmware and put it in rsd and then it un zipped. my computer reads my phone when i plug it in. and in fastboot it says that its connected to usb but rsd doesnt read
So after a couple days of browsing every page on the internet to find a solution on why RSD lite woudnt read my phone and still not coming up with an answer, I decided to try it on my desktop which runs windows 7 vs windows 8 on my laptop and wouldnt you know it my phone popped right up and i was able to use RSD lite to flash my phone back to stock 4.1.2. thanks to luckiestnut419, phone is good to go. Thanks for all your help man.
Hi to all Razr users here! I know some of you have seen me that posts alot of questions and asking for a help on different forums and threads here in Motorola Razr world and now it's my time to give a contribution on how to fix a Moto Razr from being fully bricked with an error of 'CID error' or '0X0056' error. (YAY! JUST FIXED MINE A WHILE AGO!)
Scenario:
-My device is in stock 2.3.5 Gingerbread firmware.
-I've tried to flash a JB 4.1.2 firmware on my device via RSD lite v6.x
-My device got stuck and won't boot and got the '0X0056' error causing to not get past the Motorola logo.
Instructions on how to fix:
-In my own experience, you don't need to have a backup of your CID because it is not needed on the flashing stages.
-Make sure your device is still alive and has still juice to power the battery on.
-Download a firmware of your choice http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=10 (I've downloaded the fifth one *Fido Canada*)
-Extract the .xml file inside the firmware, open with notepad++ and delete the line where 'CDT.bin' exists then put it back to the firmware .zip
-Extract also the 'allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin' file.
-Make a .bat file using notepad and write this fastboot commands:
Code:
echo off
pause
fastboot erase cid.img
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot-bootloader
pause
echo on
(Make sure you have the latest fastboot files from Android SDK tools and have 'allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin' file within it, these stuff must be in the same folder)
-Connect your device and boot in AP fastboot then ran the command.
Note: I've ran this without any 'ERROR' code which prevents the files from wrtiting.
-Just stay connected with the device.
-Use the RSD lite and use the firmware you downloaded.
-Now click start.
-When you saw the device being shown with 'CID error' DO NOT DISCONNECT THE DEVICE, JUST LET IT GO ERRORING ITSELF.
-Wait for at least 30 seconds, after that the device will shutdown then it will boot again and you will see an Android is somewhat upgrading stuff. (YAY! this is the progress I've ****ted all the way off!)
-Press power button, volume down and up simultaneously and boot with BP tools.
-Wait and you'll see your device is reviving and booting again!
Note: To prevent the annoying 'CID error', someone said we must install BMM or SS recovery in order to get past and avoid that error whenever we reboot our device.
That's all! Happy fixing! Hope it helped you!

Remove that bootlogo & boot your device without BP tools you can do this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406867 .It removes CID err on bootlogo & you can boot normally. But if your bootlogo will be changed error will appear again. So you'll need to flash fix everytime your bootlogo changes...

A little addition to this guide based on personal experience:
I did this in several firmwares trying to unbrick my device but after CDT.bin deletion, RSD Lite won't start the flashing process followed by the message sayng that "some files are missing from original package" and "please add/replace them" or "try another package" etc etc
In that case, the ONLY thing that can help you unbrick your device is CID deletion via fastboot, letting you flash any firmware you want (the question is, however, which of them will actually boot after completing the flashing process without errors.
I tried several firmwares, actually all GSM versions and the only one that booted was Taiwanese stock retail ICS. After that, I upgraded stock FW to JB 4.1.2, again trying several FWs and this time the only one that booted was stock retail JB 4.1.2 for United Kingdom (?!). But, this doesn't matter much as long as you can unbrick your device, boot the stock, root it and install custom recovery and after that the choice is yours. My device was bricked the worst possible way (erased boot, system, data, recovery partitions and tables, all gone except fastboot, with a dying and unchargeable battery. So, I made the "factory cable" myself and started from scratch. After a fair amount of trouble, I did it, what you can see from my signature.
Anyway, deleting CID is no big thing, and trust me, you won't be missing it at all. If that's the price for making your device work again just go ahead, I think it's worth it.
Make backup of CID...
Does anyone tried that method, to make backup your CID?
If your XT910S/K soft bricked why not to try by flashing XT910 2.3.6 system.img? It should boot to Retail XT910 2.3.6 with XT910S/K kernel.
If you get boot you can try rooting it & backup CID with Terminal Emulator. When erase it...
Still... with ics(jb) you'll need be with erased CID, but having backup never hurts... I just wanna to help people save unique CID.

Will add a note on that, whatever happens a backup of CID is really needed if ever something happens badly And yup, I made a backup
I just wanted to be on stock ICS Im fine with that. THANKS! Sorry for the broken grammar.

I agree that you should have CID backup, but I really had no choice but to delete it, there was no other way to unbrick it. And if you were on ICS, you cannot downgrade to Gingerbread, you can only flash ICS or JB.
Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk
If you on ICS you should also boot with Retail XT910 ICS system.img because your kernel will be still ICS XT910s..

As for me, I don't think that CID would be worth saving, since this device was bought in South Korea, then shipped to Australia and from there shipped to me here in Serbia So, since I couldn't rely much on customer support or service, I decided to delete CID in order to unbrick the Razr. Of course, if there's a chance to save your CID you should certainly do it but for me, CID doesn't mean much in these circumstances.

but what special this guide do compare to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43806194&nocache=1
we still need to install BMM/SS to pas that customer id screen..otherwise it will give black screen after that CID screen
I took the phone to ap fastboot
flash the .bat file you told about (echo off etc)
flashed firmware with rsdlite
it gave cid error. then android logo with loading (i think thats what you said android is updating)
then I ran with bp tools and it reached OS
if I restart it give black screen after CID unless boot with bp tools

Yep unfortunately that's the problem right now. It can only boot with 'bp tools' option. The only thing you can normally boot it is to install a BMM or SS recovery so that it can bypass through booting the CID error without encountering the black screen. As of now, I don't have the required stuff to fix it and don't have the knowledge to find what's behind that problem. The device (Motorola Razr) is not mine, I just fixed it for my friend. I think we can only live with the recovery installed because without it, it's impossible to boot the device normally without CID.
Take note, booting with BP tools is like booting in safe mode, it does not save any progress you made after you customize some stuff on the main screen itself.
I clear your doubt.. It does save i tried with several power offs and restarts
