Compatibility with Jawbone Up24 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Has anyone used the XZU with Jawbone's Up24 (the bluetooth version)? It's not on Jawbone's official compatibility list (the Z1 is).
You need to sideload the Up app but that's easy enough. Unfortunately I can't find a store with a demo model to test it out myself.

I've been using Jawbone UP bands since they first came out. Recently switched to the UP24 last year. Side loaded the UP app onto my Sony Xperia Z Ultra and have had absolutely zero performance issues. Syncing, both in background and upon launching the app works flawlessly. I'd say syncing works better than it did on my iPhone 5.
The only minor issue is that, since the app isn't optimized for large screen phones and tablets, some of the graphics are stretched horizontally. But not in any way that impacts usability or performance.
Sent from my C6806 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

That is exactly what I need to know! Thank you.

Ive sideloaded the apk and used for about a week. I keep having issues with the Bluetooth sync failing and have to force quit the app and reopen to reestablish the Bluetooth connection. Anyone else experiencing this?

Market restrictions on X10 mini pro?

Can't find a x10 mini pro forum? Anyway, my wife has one, and she's missing a LOT of apps from the Market that I find from my Desire. Are there restrictions on what apps show up, and can they be switched off?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It depends where you bought the phone from. different countries have different availabilities with apps.
also dont forget the x10 mini screen is really small - screen resolution limits the use of many apps. perhaps SE has taken initiative and removed all the apps that dont work with the minis from their market
When devs post apps to the market they can list certain requirements that the app needs to work. One of those requirements can be screen resolution. If the phone doesn't match the requirements then the app won't show up in the market. Simple as that. However there is nothing stopping you from installing the apps manually. Often times the app works perfectly fine anyway. I have the Mini and have tried it with several apps. Some will have a messed up UI look but it still works.

OMG... so the screen resolution is the culprit here...
I was thinking of getting it for my wife...
Does the FB work well for the mini Pro?? cos she do a lot of FB on her phone...
Yeh facebook works perfectly. Resolution is not crap, almost every app I have tried works perectly, many from apktor.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
What about office applications? My main reason for getting this phone in particular is android+hard qwerty
Documents to go worked perfectly on my Tattoo (it has the same resolution)
Tattoo also had a market fix that allowed all apps to be shown. Only problem was: it needed root... But I guess you guys will have that soon
As nattiii said, Documents To Go works perfectly. I have tried a bunch of note taking apps and they work perfect.
I could not get SWYPE to work btw, an error message about resolution too low came up
I've been using the appbrain web downloader app, which allows direct app downloads from their website. It can browse without restriction, so I've been able to install a few apps that are hidden on the market, like Skyfire, MixZing, lots of clocks, More Icons, and a game called Newton.
The only thing that didn't work too well is Newton. It scales, but the process of scaling slows it down a bit too much. Skyfire works brilliantly!

I was using Ovi Maps as my main navigation because it is brilliant so that's one feature I miss in my old E72... the thing with the E72 is that it badly needed better software and as an owner of it since about Dec09 I realised it early on with lots of random crashes, calls dropping, needing to pop out battery at least once a week, etc. - main thing for me is having a qwerty keyboard having being a Bold9000 owner before, I felt E72 had the best keyboard on the market. The minipro keyboard is good though so I don't have any regrets. The E72 was very slim in the pocket and the minipro is very similar because its still small in size. The fun part of owning a minipro is that, even tho its android 1.6, the software works great and feels good to use. Everything you wanted in the E72, like strong email support (exchange for example) is all there. I liked the front facing cam on the E72, but honestly I never used it! The main device cameras are the same quality and both very impressive. I feel happy going to the minipro and think the E72 was mainly let down by buggy software and poor support from nokia. Hope this was useful!

I finally rebooted for the first time since receiving the device 7 days ago. I realized that would probably take care of some of the issues.
Hey Gutta624,
I'm having force close issues with my Sony Tablet S too. I wasn't getting any when I first got the tablet but ever since the 3.2.1 update I have been. I can't even access the Google Accounts app and sync the device to my google account.
I've started a thread called "Constant force closes since 3.2.1" on the androidtablets forum. I'd post a link but the best I can do is androidtablets (dot) net because this is my first post here at xda-developers.
I plan to take my device to the nearest service center this week so I'll let you know how that goes.

Do you sync your brower bookmarks with your google account? I have the same issues when activating the sync.
I have to say, this is a worrying thing with this Tablet. My other half has an ipad 2, and although it doesn't have flash, the rest of it does work as it should. Whereas the Sony seems to have all these niggly issues with it.
So now I have to weigh up the options - no flash but reliable os, or flash support but seemingly endless problems.
I've just got a nagging doubt about the Sony that if I get one I'm going to end up regretting it and wishing I'd just got a proper ipad instead.
Anyone have a problem free, happy Sony tablet experience?
Love the device... the software is miserable.
1. Social App and the Browser sometimes force close.
2. Zinio is frequently unresponsive and has to be force closed - happens regularly now that I have a few magazines in my library.
3. Stock browser is awefully laggy. This in comparison with my HTC Desire Z running Gingerbread. Try [www techradar com]. Very very slow and generally unresponsive. This is but one example. the lastest has been a laggy Sony app selection website. Oh... Opera often closes with no warning or error.
4. Dammit... Stanard Keyboard just force closed typing this.
5. The text selection is terribly buggy. Often can't select the right spot... the green arrows jump around erractically making the whole experience frustrating. Happens right here on XDA.
6. Predicition isn't't as good as the HTC devices... and they keyboard is not as responsive as the demo unit... either because of a software upgrade or the sony screen protector. Find that keys aren't't registering... most evident on the space bar.
The above isn't't at all acceptable and I'm hoping asoftware upgrade fixes it.
7. We were sold this device (in singapore) as a playsation certified device... and there isn't a store available... bad sony!!!
8. swapping between devices in the remote control app is too slow.
9. The DNLA app is frustrating.... slowt ransfers over wireless network... doesn't handle 90% of the video I have (from HTC and Panasonic) devices. Also clumsy interface... Doesn't even remember prior folder selections.
10. Battery drainage on standby is really mindboggling. Lose about 16% per day. I get about 4 maybe 5 at best out of the device. charging is awefully slow compared to other devices. Typically 3 to 4 hrs to recharge fully (from 14%).
I've taken a lot of time andcare diagnosing andcan't attribute the issues to anything otherthan software.... and this line was me typing at full speed with keyboard lag.
Would appreciate feedback.
Oh... how do I stop the autoreplace from forcing a replacement? I know you can select it but that would save it to the dictionary which I don't want. On the HTCs you simply click the empty space following the word and it's ignored.
Regards
I am also from Singapore..download the account manager apk and sign up..u will be able to download free PS games...
Today m going to sony store to replace my tab as its back case started creaking sound which is frustating..

[Q] Just How Reliable is CM7?

Throughout the forums there seem to be fairly conflicting reports about CM7 for the Touchpad, it crashes a lot, it mostly works, lots of apps don't work, most common apps do work.
Basically, how reliable is CM7?
I don't use too many apps, so for me it would mainly be for:
- Browser
- Gmail
- Google Docs
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Spotify
- Swiftkey (does the tablet version work?)
Oh, and the official Touchpad Bluetooth Keyboard.
Would I get a good experience out of the current build?
Some answers after 5 days using CM:
-in my case, no SOD, but it seems to vary
- dolphin hd (browser) works nicely
- SwiftKey x tablet also good
- 2 random reboots in 5 days
- facebook ok if you use fake gps to Set up your location (otherwise it crashes)
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I have the official hp touchpad keyboard. It works really well once you get it paired. When it ask for the code on the tp put in 0000 then hit ok. As soon as your done hit 0000 on the the keyboard then hit enter. You have to do this really fast while the tp is running the ring on the screen getting ready to pair it. Good luck

One of the most stable "alphas" I've seen, more of a beta. Running Alpha2, a couple times a day I might have to cycle Airplane mode to get wifi back. This seems more frequent if hopping multiple APs. A couple apps you listed have issues;
- Google Docs - current version FCs, had to sideload old version 1.0.4r (search the forum, there are discussions on this)
- Facebook - FCs unless you run a fake gps app first
This morning I had to power cycle it to get touchscreen back, but even so I feel no urge to reboot into WebOS.

The Google Docs App force closed on me today when i downloaded/installed it.
Camera doesnt seem to work, it also force closes.
Had a few SODth but saw a thread earlier today about installing an ap (softlocker) and its helped thus far.
No random reboots for me. Ive been running CM7 alpha2 since last Thurs
Everything except wifi is fairly reliable. I only have secured networks, so wifi constantly crashes for me. I'd wait for the next release if it was important to you.

As for me,
1. Market sometimes FC when installing (not a big deal)
2. Wifi drops occasionally and need manual reconnecting
3. Battery drain during sleep, at the rate of around 2 to 3% per hour
4. Scrolling a bit jerky for a dual core 1.5GHz device
5. Facebook FC without FakeGPS
Otherwise everything is working so far. But then I haven't tested everything.

I only got mine last night and got CM7 loaded within minutes of opening it. I had some problems with wireless until I switched mine to channel 6 from channel 11. It ran solid as a rock for a few hours until I shut it down for the night.
Renders all my various size and density photos (all JPG) quickly and very crisply.
Netflix ran good.
Youtube was okay.
My mp4s encoded for my Nook Color were all messed up (played but video was whacky, striped accross the screen, these play great on webOS)
Plays my MP3 without issue (need to move my album art over from my Nook Color)
Quadrant scores are pretty low (low 2000's) only due to the FPS graphics not being optimized (GPU acceleration probably is not finished.)

Browser is meh. But 3rd party Opera is fantastic. Nearly as smooth as safari on ipad.
Gmail is fantastic.
Google Docs is great.
Facebook sucks if you don't install a fakegps app or the older 1.5.2 apk that didn't need GPS.
Twitter's great..
Thats all I know. But I do know that the camera doesn't work (on EITHER of my CM Touchpads) and that each of mine have also had a random shutdown and refused to wake up (without me long pressing the power/home buttons repeatedly)... but that being said... very sweet stable for an Alpha. In fact, I think it's more stable than my phone, also on CM. And more importantly, it's better than WebOS if only for the app selection.
Compared to web os its 100% better some bugs but I haven't booted into web os since the first alpha.
Sent from my HP Touchpad using Tapatalk
have SOD's despite the fact that i've tried every work around i could find... actually the last one was probably due to the fact that the work around drained the battery... between that and the wifi i've pretty much given up on it until a more stable for me release. it is in very good shape though. i liked having a netflix tablet for a bit. wish HP had made it 16:9 but oh well.
anyway since you can dual boot i really dont' see any reason for people not to put it on there. Pulse newsreader is so damn cool on a tablet

oooo ill have to check it out. Thanks
Just installed yesterday and very impressed for an alpha build. Only get FCs for market and Facebook but realised that i need the fake gps. Did have to reboot the first time as apps wouldn't install saying i had no space. On the whole i like it and especially adobe reader as its miles more quicker and better quality than the WebOS version. But i do miss the WebOS interface so i can see what apps i'm running and throwing the cards away to close the app.

Spotify

When I load up spotify, it is constantly on "offline" mode even though I have a full working connection. anyone else with this problem on the Prime?
I think it's a bug that occurs on all honeycomb (and apparently ICS) tablets, not only the TP.
But same for me, 90% of the time spotify doesn't work

Issues here also
Took me removing clearing data and force stopping three time after that started to work. It probably doesn't help that it has not been updated since November 14, 2011.
Too many playlists
I have recently ran across a known issue in that I had too many playlists.
I don't know how many are too many, but some 200-something.
I removed some playlists but also had to completely clear out the app cache and reinstall it before it started working again.
Same issue on the Nexus S as well.
/G
I have Spotify Premium.
I've upgraded to ICS, and Installed Spotify. I'm using Spotify across 4 different platforms. It's always in Offline mode, it'll try and connect and then back to offline mode. I'm not sure what the problem is but, I wish It worked, I'm thinking about giving up Spotifiy in favor of just downloading my music again. lol.
Another annoying problem I've had with Spotify on the Prime is when I add a track to a playlist after about 15 seconds it abruptly closes Spotify. Major PITA!
odd, it works on my CM9 alpha Captivate with 4.0.3 fine. Just not on the Prime. Could be a Tegra3 thing.
Yo, peeps.
So I had this problem too on my S-Off, rooted, stock gingerbread Flyer. Eventhough it's Gingerbread, it also has that problem, so i Google'd around a bit, since it's annoying as hell.
Dunno where I read it but someone said that you should clear cache > uncheck all offline playlists > logout > (optional: change spotify folder) > login and it should work. Well... it did for a while. Then it hopped back into its offline mode.
The problem is/was that you should clear cache, uncheck all offline playlists and keep them unchecked. After I re-did all those steps and quit making offline playlists, Spotify remained online. I'm not sure if this works for every tablet and/or ICS, but I heard that it worked on the Xoom (the forum where I found the solution was about the Xoom) and it works on my Flyer.
So you can't use offline playlists, but atleast spotify will keep working (assuming they haven't fixed it yet).
I hope it works for you aswell.
Also, does the Prime have the same Spotify interface as phones? I recently upgraded to Honeycomb... and on my Flyer it still has that oversized phone interface...
Seems like the phone interface is it. Just gets stretched for the device.

Too bad =\
But did the uncheck offline playlist thing work for you?
i never put anything for offline use. Either way, it just always says "OFFLINE MODE" at the top even when connected.
Im hoping as more ICS and T3 devices roll out they update it.
It looks like what you need to do is :
-log out of the program
-force stop it
-open it back up
-log in and it should work.

In UK. Got the update on PCC, and installed it. But in the process, the tablet has taken owner account as my secondary email account (instead of the gmail account that was used before). I can't find a way to change it. Apart from a reinstall, anyone knows a way to correct it ? I tried deleting the email account from the tablet, and also tried adding the gmail account to the user data. It does not allow me to change the owner email. For some reason, it has taken the email account that I was using for Sony Entertainment Network and made it owner account. In the settings there is the option of Tablet setup guide option, that also does not allow me to change owner email..
The tablet is not Rooted and would like to keep it that way. Thanks
