[Q] Problem with earphones with CM11 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have a i9100p phone. What I have read is that it works perfectly with CM except the NFC, but I don't care. The problem is that only 1 of the 2 earphones works fine, the other one listen very very low.
What I wanna know is if its a problem of the CM (maybe somebody have has the same problem) or maybe is a hardware problem.
Thanks!

try to use another kernel as dorimanx, gustavo_s or apolo.
This custom kernel can change the volume of the whole system by increasing the db.
Documented by reading the OP of related 3d :good:

Videocamera volume bug

Hi,
Sorry if this has already been covered but the search function is down right now so I can't check.
So far with Wolfbreak, Ultima and EWjet ROMs, I find that the videocamera doesn't pick up sound very loud at all. When playing videos back, the audio can barely be heard.
The volume is fine in all other respects (youtube/music/ringtone+notifications/in call volume), so the speaker hardware itself is fine - this is specific to the videocamera.
I've tried stock kernels that come with the Roms as well as Doomlords kernel (due to its in call volume fix) but nothing seems to help with this particular issue.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know how to fix it?
All suggestions welcome guys, and thanks in advance....

It's not a speaker issue, it's a microphone issue.
It captures low quality sound apparently.
Maybe someone can make an improvement by tweaking media_profiles.xml and editing the SemcCamera app.
UPDATE:
FYI
So I've now tried pretty much every custom 2.3+ ROM going and it's the same on all of them.
Reverted to 2.1 yesterday and the problem did not occur -
I then updated to official 2.3 via SE PC companion and found this same problem exists even on the official update, so it would seem that no matter what ROM you use, as long as it's 2.3 or higher, you WILL have this problem.
Sorry if this is common knowledge or anything but I haven't been able to find this info anywhere.

Bluetooth in-call audio issue

Hi all,
I have an issue with bluetooth audio while in a call. The audio quality is so bad, even with a lot of imagination I can't make up what the other one is sating. Normal bluetooth audio (like touchsounds or media) is fine.
This problem doesn't occur on the stock rom, but only on the custom (CM10-based) roms I tried.
I've tried ParanoidAndroid 2.51 and AOKP milestone 1.
I've got the same issue with both my bluetooth headset and carkit.
I also tried different radio's, currently I'm on I9300CEDLI1.
It doesn't seem to be a kernel issue ether. Currently I'm running stock JB with Siyah kernel 1.7rc1 without any problems. (I tried PA en AOKP with this same kernel)
I would appreciate it very much if someone could point me in the right direction.
Regards,
Roel

[Q] Problem with Audio

This morning I flashed into my Galaxy Next/Mini GTS5570 different ROMs, but I have a common problem with those all: using Skype, I can't talk with the earphones. When I connect the jack, I can hear other people, but they can't hear me. When I disconnect the jack, other people can hear me and I can talk. Is it a Hardware or a Software problem? I installed Original Software 2.3.6 with Odin and there was no problem, with or without earphones. I tried Cyanogenmod7 and Music Edition, 10, 10.1, ParanoidAndroid, PAC, MIUI, but noone of these working correctly. Sorry for my english.
It sounds like its a problem with software, as you said it works with stock. From what you've said it seems the problem lies with AOSP based roms for your device. Maybe try flashing a stock based rom instead and see if it works then?

What I have to do? I'm not practical about these things
have you looked in the skype settings anywhere? and do you have problems with the headset microphone anywhere else?

Problem with phone audio

I'm experiencing problems with phone audio on my S3 I9300.
I was on CM 10.1 2013-08-04 nightly, stock kernel, stock modem. Today I updated to latest nightly but nothing changed.
Audio in other apps is working perfectly, but during a call I cannot hear others speaking neither others can hear me. Turning speaker on during call doesn't help.
Unlock sound is activated and playing (workaround to prevent an issue present in CM).
The problem is sometimes "solved" plugging in earphones but is back again after a boot.
I asked in proper CM thread but nobody answered my request.
Attached a couple of logcats.
Many many thanks in advance if somebody could help diagnose the problem.

[Q] can't switch back to earpiece if device is paired to bluetooth headset

Hello,
on my I9300 i have tried Slimbean 4.3 stable and SlimKat 4.4 weeklys now and i always had the problem that I can't switch back to speaker or earpiece if device is paired to a bluetooth headset or bluetooth speaker in my car.
This problem is also described in a posting in cyanogenmod forum. I cant post links but just search for "[10.1.3] Can't Switch Back To Speaker Or Headset Earpiece If ..." on google.
Until now I have found no solution. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue?
It works perfectly with stock ROM but I dont want to change back...
Thanks for your help

Tried it again several times with Slimbean and Cyanogenmod Roms. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A driver problem?
