[Q] HDMI HD Android Dongle with Camera for TV - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am looking for:
A dongle that can convert my D5000 Samsung TV (non smart, no camera) to Smart TV and I can be able to use skype video conversation. Also I would be able to browse internet, see videos in HD format with out any lagging etc.
Please recommend me the best one.
Thank you.

Extend screen to TV via DLNA?

I'd like to use my phone as a source to play streaming videos (SWF container in this instance) onto my DLNA enabled TV. This works fine over HDMI but I don't want the cables dangling all over my house ideally.
Any ideas on how this can be done? I know that it can be done with VLC on a PC which converts a stream into a video file which can be sent over DLNA. Is there something similar for Android?
Hi!
You can do the two ways, "to" and "from" the phone right...
I recommend you first install some good video players (maybe some codec issues i had). I have Vplayer and RockPlayer lite
Then, install iMediaShare, also on android market.
Hope it helps
Great app for the content that they have on there...will be buying the full version.
I want to watch a foreign channel that is in the SWF container though so are there any options for extending that onto my TV in real time?

[Q] Embedded stream Player app?

Hi everyone.
I bought an MHL cable to hook my Galxy S II up to my HDTV thinking I could watch HD videos on my big screen.
This works fine for a video file I've already downloaded to my phone, but I subscribe to an online live sports streaming website that shows events in up to 720p resolutions. All the streams are rtmpt Flash based embedded players, unfortunately when I tried this I could only view the videos at the S2's native resolution, which scaled up to 40 inches looked terrible!
Also, I've tried loads of browsers from the market, but regardless of if I use 3G, H+ or high speed home wifi they all stutter/lag every 10 seconds or so, which tells me it's the phone, not the connection. If I tether my phone to my PC, I can watch the streams fine which again tells me that it's the phone and not a connection speed issue.
I'd like to know if there's an app that will detect when you play an embedded video stream and give you the option of viewing it in another player that can handle higher resolutions than the browsers can?
I've seen apps like JetVD which do this for YouTube videos with 720p resolutions but can't find anything that will work with other streaming video websites. A little help please? MHL cable is pretty useless to me otherwise!
Thanks in advance!

Screen Mirroring Hardware using our Galaxy Note 3?

I'm sure everyone is somewhat familiar with Samsung's AllShare Cast dongle that's used to wirelessly "cast" media from a Samsung device(your Note 3) to the AllShare Cast hardware dongle/device attached to any compatible TV... What I'm curious about is does anyone have experience with any of the other hardware devices used for screen mirroring or "casting" directly from their device to an attached dongle or TV? In your opinion, what's the BEST out there? I've already got a Chromecast and it works well for what it's supposed to do...it streams NetFlix, Youtube, Hulu Plus, Google Play Music, Google Play Videos, but it DOESN'T stream directly from a mobile device....YET. So it doesn't fully meet my needs right now. I know the Roku is an option, but I was just wanting your opinions on any device you prefer.
Thanks guys!
I recently got the Chromecast and wish it did everything, but only time will tell.
This is probably in the minority, but I use my server/htpc with XBMC to play everything else. XMBC allows DLNA devices, so I can stream local content on my phone to the computer. I also use it to stream some other content. For example, I use Anime Plus app to watch some anime. It gives me the option to use external players, because of this I choose the default Samsung player and then click the AllShare icon to send it to my computer. If there are other apps out there that allows you to use the default video player, then you should be able to do the same.
For music, I use Subsonic since it's also on my htpc computer, but I rarely play music through my TV.

casting video from browser not workin

I had this question on g3 section but no reply came. Trying my luck here.....
Need help to understand. What tech is used to cast from browser e.g. any video embeded, to smart tv. I guess it is dlna. I was able to do that on 5.0 however since the update (G3 D855) to 6.0 browser does not show this option anymore. I can still dlna youtube, any media on my harddisk by using smart share or bubble unp etc. Even soundcloud is working.....just the browser embeded videos are no more working.

Netflix Tv App

Hi,
I am running netflix app on Mi Tv 4 , it works fine but I am not sure what's quality of streaming, 720p/1080p or 4K.
Is there any shortcut (like netflix provide on desktop) to determine bitrte/qualty etc?
I also purchased d same model.
As we side-loaded Netflix, it would be 720p because 1080p and 4K needs special DRM which our TV supports completely but it should be an official system update from manufacturer end. As of now, only alternative to watch Netflix in 4K HDR is- I connected a laptop(should be HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compatible) via HDMI.
Nvidia sheild, Chromecast Ultra/Fire TV stick 2 are great alternatives at low price but unfortunately neither of them are available in our country.
Thanks,
What HDMI cable works for you. I think 4k HDR need special HDMI cable.
Let me know amazon link to buy.
