I rooted my phone but then unrooted it by super su, i then confirmed it by downloading root checker and it said my phone is not rooted. However, i still had access to xposed installer. I thought xposed installer only worked when rooted. Its weird. Whenever i go to settings and click system update, it undergos the process but then all of a sudden the android guys like dead and it says "error" also my battery life is charging super slow and i think its cause the system update i cant download
Help pleaseeeeee

http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...ck-updates-t1710613/post27407556#post27407556 follow this guide ,also you need to download triangle away to set your binary count to default . Did you checked if in download mode it says official ?

1. re-root it;
2. use triangle away, whatever else to make it official in download mode
3. forget about unrooting. Perform factory reset.
4. flash the resurrection ROM (factory mode ROM), 5 files, with PIt and repartitioning
effect: you;re clean, stock and ready for OTA.

[Q] Help: S3 Dilemma

Hello,
I require some help as my phone has been acting really weird recently. I first bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 earlier in September that was loaded with ICS. I am currently in Singapore and I got the phone from Starhub.
I attempted to root the phone in ICS, and succeeded in doing so. There were no problems at that point in time.
Recently, there was an update notification that kept prompting me to update to Jelly Bean. There were a few options if I wanted to postpone it: Update now, Remind in 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 3 hours. I found it really irritating, so I eventually just clicked to update it now.
The update went as planned, but when I restarted my phone, my SuperSU refuses to work. When I go into it, it tells me "The SU binary needs to be updated. Continue?" But when I click "Continue", it says Installation Failed! I have tried going to settings, disabling Superuser, and then attempting to use superuser to update the binary. It did not work. When I attempted to disable superuser under settings>SuperSU, it says "Uninstallation failed!"
I attempted to de-root using a guide from GalaxyS3Root website, which told me to download Odin Lite, Odin Kernel and Triangle Away.
However, Triangle Away refuses to work with an error message "Unfortunately, Triangle Away has stopped".
The Odin Lite also refuses to work by saying "Could not detect device model".
Am at a loss as to what to do now...
Tried using Titanium Backup as well, but it seems to be unable to back up my files without using Root.
Please help!!
You have several options. Easiest ones: just backup your stuff and either flash the lastest leak (ELK4) which is already rooted and has extra goodies or simply wipe your phone (get into recovery and factory reset it). Your rom (JB) wasn't rooted to begin with so you won't have root anymore. There's probably a way to do it without wiping but i usually don't bother. It's generally less of a hassle to backup and wipe.
Edit: oh sorry, missed the part where you couldn't backup without root. To be honest, i never use titanium, it always causes problems when i restore stuff. I just backup what i need by hand (sms's with a sms backup app, find my save's files, etc)
Thanks

Thanks for the speedy reply!
To backup my stuff, I just have to plug my phone to my computer and drag &drop everything, yes?
Sorry I'm very new to the whole android thing, and I'm not very tech-savvy to begin with. When you say Flash the latest leak, how do I do this?
If I factory reset my phone now will I brick it?
That's such an overkill. Just boot into recovery mode and root your phone again with Odin. There are plenty of guides around.

this is because after the update, your phone is no longer rooted.

Triangle Away is not required for rooted, it just resets a counter to 0. nothing very much to it.

I think the best thing u can do right now is.
1. titanium backup to SD.
2. load a new rom via odin 3.04
3. install cf root to root the phone via odin 3.04
4. install titanium backup and restore your phone.
i know it can be very annoying because all the singaporean ah beng hp shops has no idea now to repair the phone.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 "Modified" Issue

Hello mates,i'm having an issue with my device, and i was told to ask here for help, first things first,I'm sorry if i'm breaking any rules, because this is a massive site/forum organization and I think i'm posting in the right place/section.
Okay, here's my issue, recently i've purchased a Samsung Galaxy S3 from some dude, and recently,i've decided to update it to 4.1.2 as i believe it is the official Samsung update. However, the previous owner seem to have done something to it and it says that it can't be updated because the status of the device is now modified. I've looked it up on youtube, and successfully "unrooted" it. After that i've restored the phone to it's factory settings, removing all my pictures, music and all data in general. However my device's condition remains Modified and unable to update. I was just wondering, how do i do that, without risking to break the device. Again,i don't care about the data on the device(none left) and I only want the official stuff from Samsung that is supposed to be safe. I apreciate any info on this matter and ask you to use simple words as i'm not a pro when it comes to phone software/os. Ty

No,just "SuperSU" for unrooting. Is your "Triangle Away" Safe?
Edit: After fully understanding your comment, what am i suppose to do now? Root it again, then use Triangle then unroot it? If it is of any meaning,I also have this "CWM" Icon that stayed after factory reset, and i've had it since i bought the phone,it looks like a settings button, but doesn't really fit in the other icons, full name is CWM Manager and i believe i was able to open it,but now says. "CWM Manager needs SuperUser access to function ! If you have SU Installed ,make sure CWM Manager is not blocked, then reboot and try again", i have SuperUserSU but when i try to open it is says "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem" Both of these apps worked before the unroot so i'm thinking it's connected somehow. Noteon't need these 2 apps to work.just want android update

Well to get a fully Stock phone you can Root it, use Triangle Away like rootSU suggested to get the official Status back (also check Download mode), then Just flash a Stock Samsung Firmware via Odin. This will unroot your device since you are flashing the Stock Kernel with the Firmware. Afterwards you should have a unrooted Stock device with an official Status. Odin will also automatically Wipe your device`s Apps + Data.

Okay mate,i was afraid i was gonna destroy my device, but i overcame that fear, and watched a tutorial on youtube on how to root your device,it had 96% positive feedback (based on likes) and i felt confident. But when i entered the odin mode on my device, shortly after the begining a problem occured. Do you know that orange box that is suppose to appear in Odin on your desktop? The one that says COM5 or something? Well,I didn't get that,it was just an empty white box like the other 4-5 boxes next to it. Apreciate answers

Well that could be a indication that you either don`t have the USB Drivers installed or that USB Debugging isn`t turned on on your device.
Do you have the latest version of Kies installed?
Turn on USB Debugging on your device if it`s turned off and try again.

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 SM-G750A AT&T Root. Plus Hotspot unlocked for Cricket or other

Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 SM-G750A AT&T Root. Plus Hotspot unlocked for Cricket or other
First step is to root your phone using King Root. This is the only known root to this day for the Mega 2 AT&T version that has the locked bootloader. It also wasn't known until a few days ago. It does not require a computer. Go to your security section in your phone settings and check unknown sources. Download King Root, run it and even without rebooting you will have root within a few minutes.
Here is the link where I found King Root right here on XDA. So I feel good posting the link.
In the first post at the end is the attachment. Be sure you use 4.0.0.233 because that's the one that worked for me. I attached the Root King 4.0.0.233 file at the bottom of this post.
It goes on to mention how to replace king root with supersu. I haven't tried to replace king root because it works fine like it is. If someone wants to try it let me know.
Also during my testing I tried to install a zip from my stock bootloader and it wiped my whole phone back to stock. I assume any changes we make to this rom can not be done flashing a zip because of the locked bootloader. After it wiped everything I still had root though. The root application was the only application left on my phone besides the stock bloatware. If you want to remove Root King you need the app so I guess it's good that the app stays unless you uninstall using its own app.
Now we can install Titanium Backup. Run it close it then go back and (pay for if you haven't done it before) get Titanium Backup Pro key that will allow you to freeze apps. So you can freeze all the apps that will try to update your phone.
You can also remove all the bloatware.
After days of trying different apps to get hotspot to work I found this on another forum. Rather then posting a link (to another site) I have made this shortened version from the original and have given credit to Max Lee. If you want the original thread that includes photos of each step then Google search the title I copied below.
This was not originally written for the Mega 2 but it works perfectly on our Mega.
How to Get Free Wifi Tether on Rooted Android! [AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon]
BY MAX LEE · JULY 2, 2014
Step 1. Download Xposed Installer and Xposed XTether APK files.
Download:
Download Xposed Installer APK
*http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
Download Xposed XTether APK
*http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.dym.motoxtether
*Step 2. Install both APK files.* You may have to check “Unknown Sources” ON under Settings->Security.
*Step 3. Once both apps installed, open Xposed Installer app then press “Framework”.
*Step 4. Hit “Install/Update”.* This will install Xposed Framework.* You can also uninstall it later down the road when you don’t need it anymore if you want.
*Step 5. Make sure you hit “Grant” or “Allow” when Superuser request window pops up!
*Step 6. Hit “Cancel” when installation is done.* Do not reboot yet!
*Step 7. Go to “Modules” in Xposed Installer app.
*Step 8. Make sure Moto Tether is checked ON.* This is actually the XTether app.
*Step 9. Once rebooted, try turning on your Wifi Tether Mobile Hotspot.* It should now be working without annoying messages from your carrier!* Congratulations!
My added steps.
* Step 10. To turn on hotspot you need to go to settings and press Tethering and Wifi Hotspot then press Mobil hotspot, finally slide the switch to on.
Go to Play Store and get HotSpot Toggle by Mehdy Bohlool.
This will make a widget you can put on you home screen to make it easy to turn on and off the hotspot without going through all those other steps each time you want to turn it on and off.
Install it then go to your widgets, find the HotSpot Toggle, grab it and drop it onto your home screen.
I am going to reserve this space incase later I need to add something.
what is ur firmware?I have a G750a on baseband G750AUCU3A0FA did not work...............neither any root method
thank you for the post anyway
I'm in the same page as you. I have the same baseband, and it appears that may have "fixed" whatever exploits others have found. I went so far as to fill up my phone with apps so it doesn't have enough room to download the AT&T updates anymore. I cannot stop these automatic updates without root. I've tried several Kingroot versions, including the one from this post. I've tried Towelroot with several different options. I sure wish I could get this thing rooted. The sandboxed SD card kills my emulation.
mine is updated as well and no root option is working at the moment which totally sux
Any1's able to share an ADB dump or the whole 5.1.1 firmware? :highfive:
I updated mine to 5.1.1 in hopes that one of the root methods would start working. Still no go with either Kingroot or Towelroot. I'd give the dump a try, but I don't think we can get an ADB dumb without root can we? If so, I would mind giving it a shot.
No root before modification of kernel itself (my opinion)
I still don't understand why you posted the chinese version of Kingroot...it just doesn't make sense...

The gs4 that used to be unrootable if it was updated to lollipop, has now been able to root using a newer version of kingroot. Try again to root your att mega 2 on lollipop using one of the latest kingroot. A new bonus now is if you do get root from kingroot you can buy Supersume from the playstore and it will remove kingroot and replace it with supersu automatically. There is a free method to manually replace kingroot with supersu also.

Oh man, I did almost the exact same thing. Only difference is that I used a script instead of Supersu-me. I am too stuck in a boot loop, and cannot get Odin, Kies 2.6, Kies 3 or Samsung Smart Switch to work. Every time I get this error on my phone in download mode: "SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: 3. BINARY: 1"
This is the script I used to turn my phone into a boot loop:

Please, S3/N2 can run TW 5.1.1 with this system dump.

"It's Not Free So Get The Wallet Out" Good Luck To You.........
Ok for those having issues of bootloop, there are easy ways to fix this.
If you are able to flash via Odin, just flash any firmware version on top of the one you have.
The device will probably boot normally, but will have issues inside OS. This issues should be fixed once you boot in recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache. BACKUP your suff in windows before you do the factory reset, just ignore the bugs in case they happen and backup your sutff viaSamsung Kies3/Smartswitch or normal windows browsing.
After your phone is back to normal, you can update to latest firmware again OTA WIFI, Odin, Kies/Smartswitch, SamFirm etc.

MAYDAY! Verizon update brick- Recovery won't work as it auto installs a failed update

Hello! Sorry for my panic and sense of urgency, but I'm currently away for school and my lease is ending at the end of the month and I have no way to contact my parents, real estate agents, movers, or anything now. All I have is my phone and computer, and I haven't renewed my internet for the month so it should be shut off any day now as well.
But I was running Lollipop (OC1) and rooted my phone the other day with the terrible KingRoot. I attempted to use this app that was supposed to remove KingRoot and replace it with SuperUser but it only removed KingRoot - nothing else. So I lost root access, but still had all the KingRoot crap on my phone. Today a Verizon update appeared on my phone and I clicked install - I didn't think anything of it because it wasn't a major OS upgrade, just a small patch. Plus I thought it'd help remove KingRoot. Uh oh. I was wrong.
I installed the update, it went into recovery and then attempted to install. next thing I know all I see is a black screen. I tried pulling the battery and rebooting it, but I can't get passed the Samsung logo - it just goes to a black screen (but I believe it's still on, draining battery). If I try to boot into recovery it INSTANTLY starts auto-installing this update, which it of course always fails to do and gives me an error message.
My brother said I need to use 'ADB' but he's busy and can't email me much more information. I'm entirely lost, panicked, and scared! I need my phone working soon. I'm assuming theres no way to 'fix' my phone - so I'm just going to have to suck it up and realize I lost everything (man I wish I saved a lot of people I was texting as contacts *face palm*). What can I do now?
P.S. If I need to install a new ROM or whatnot over this, then can I do so with a pre-rooted Lollipop ROM? That way I don't have to risk using KingRoot ever- ever again. NOTE I NEED ROOT FOR WiFi TETHER! My internet is being shut off very soon, so to get by in the meantime I planned on using my phone and its tether.
No... You need internet access..
BUT... If you backed up everything to the external SD, then you can regain contacts..
Otherwise, Any attempt to fix it won't do anything...
ADB won't work on this phone either...
What you need to do is download a program called Odin, and a OC1 stock tar... That will recover your phone, but you will lose all contacts unless you had the Verizon contact thing...
I had the exact same experience as you yesterday... I had to put my phone in Download mode and start fresh with the Verizon Software Update Assistant. All I really cared about was my pictures, and they were on the external SD card. The other response about using ODIN to go back to OC1 works just as well... Best of luck!
Odin is your friend
Don't panic. You're contacts and other media of a similar nature are usually backed up regularly enough if you don't mess with the default sync settings of your stock rom. We can all agree Kingroot is a terrible way to root because of it's unnecessarily bloated bundle that it installs along with its super user app. To get your phone working you need to 'Odin' back to stock and from there you can root and install a custom rom. However your choices are very finite because of the new SELinux enforcing files on the OC1 build for the Verizon bootloader.
Step 1) Download Odin here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539
Step 2) Download the stock OC1 Build ROM for the SCH-I545 (Verizon Galaxy S4) here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon/development/odin-5-0-1-lollipop-oc1-t3174850
Step 3) Once the download has finished (use DownloadThemAll add-on in FireFox to boost download speed) load the tar.md5 file into Odin
using the AP button.
Step 4) Put your phone into download mode and plug it into your computer. Make sure the cables aren't loose and click start in Odin.
Step 5) Wait for the phone to reboot and for the com-slot in Odin to turn green (will say "PASS!!" when complete).
If you use KingRoot to root the phone then I suggest googling how to replace KingRoot with SuperSu and following the tutorial W0lfdroids website here ---> http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
