[Q] How to change lock screen back to stock after Xposed mods? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Alright, I'm an idiot. I did what you're not supposed to do and made changes without really paying attention to what was happening. I take full blame, obviously! I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. It's not a huge deal, more like "what the heck did I do and how do I undo it?"
I've got the HTC One M8 and I've been playing around with some Xposed mods. Now, my lock screen is missing the bottom shortcuts/icons (which I actually like), it's missing the lock screen notifications I have turned on in Security, and I'm not able to add widgets. I've tried turning off all the Xposed mods and rebooting to no avail. Where did I mess up and how do I correct it?
The mods I currently have active: Downloads2SD, SwiftKey Goodness on More Fields, Google Play Music Listen, HTC Gesture Modifier, HTC One Tweaker, Sense 6 Lockscreen (trust me, this was the first one I checked all the settings for as well as disabling), Sense 6 Toolbox, and Xposed StatusBar.
Mods I've had but uninstalled: GravityBox [KK], XBlast Tools, XVolume (I undid all the settings before uninstalling each of these, too).

Go to xposed app >framework> uninstall, then reboot

No luck I even uninstalled all the mods afterward and rebooted again.

disable all lockscreens?

How can i totally disable any lockscreen on the rezound? I use widgetlocker but after a restart the sense lockscreen always comes up until widgetlocker loads up. I tried a few no lock apps on the market and nothing seems to work.
tried freezing the default lock screen?

you are going to have to use a app called Titanium backup (might have to pay for the pro edition but it is worth it) or something similar to this, but i recommend this app. Then go to backup/restore then freeze "Default lockscreen"

Yes. I just removed all those apks. We shall see what what happens.
EDIT: just rebooted and now have the aosp lockscreen. I did a google search and i guess i cant do this. It has to do with the android.policy.jar.
Did you try freezing Idlescreen_Base.apk and see what that does?

I used to use THIS when I wanted to not have a lockscreen. I haven't tried it on the Rez, but I would assume it would work. Might as well try that.

I deleted most of those idlescreen.apks and it seemed to do the trick as far as removing the sense lockscreen. But now im stuck with a blank screen until widgetlocker loads up. Cannot acess my homescreen until then either.

Thanks i tried that today, doesnt work.
I also have this problem on my EVO 3D. Cant disable that darn lockscreen for widgetlocker instead. And I really hate it when i'm using poweramp via lockscreen. I turn on my evo to change a track and the sense lockscreen appears and then it loads the poweramp player with widgetlocker.
I used to use a dialer code to disable the lockscreen in my Droid Charge (when NONE of the no-lock apps worked.
I don't remember the code offhand as I like the sense lock & have no reason to disable it.
I would love to be able to disable lock screen myself. does anybody have any ideas regarding this process?
*EDIT*
I just used NoLock. It breaks on reboot, but I guess that's okay because I don't reboot all that much. Plus, it's kindof cool because I can PIN or password or Pattern lock the phone easily if I want, yet still have the ability to keep apps from screwing up when I turn off the display.
Nothing worse that losing a GPS lock when you need directions and don't know where to turn next. Not to mention lots of other apps that you have to reload when have to unlock...
NoLock, works perfectly for me, even after reboot. I also deleted the sense lock screen. I don't use any lock screen at all though, I like to go straight to home screen.

[Solved] How can I adjust my services.jar to change OOM priority of TWlauncher?

Hello,
I'm having launcher re-draws like cray and it sets me up all the time. I'm facing it for over half a year and now I'm done with it.
Last monday I started figure it out what it could be. I did this earlier before but didn't found anything helpfull so I stopped searching for it. But now I want it to be fixed for good.
As I said, last monday I was busy figuring out what the problem is and tried some fixes like a piece of code from the supercharger script but that script only touches the standard launchers with standard names, it doesn't touch the TWlauncher. I also tried to change OOM priority with Auto Memory Manager and an init.d startup script but the launcher seems to be hard to touch. I tested the script on whatsapp instead of TWlauncher and the script is just working fine but TWlauncher seems to be hard to "teach a lesson".
So now I'm busy with decompiling SecLauncher2.apk and searched for some files that maybe reffer to interesting code but there are so many files in this apk. It's a chaos.
I asked things like this before in the Omega Jelly Bean thread here on this forum but everyone says I have to make a clean install. I did that every time when there's a new rom available so it doesn't matter. There are just to many services running in the background. But all the apps that are running on my phone are neccessary.
I hope there is a developer in here that can tell me some more about this. I really want to make it work.
I think I'm not the only one with the re-draw problem.
If u have root heres a much simpler solution
Install xposed framework, download app settings 1.5 module
Go to SecLauncher settings
And thick "keep in memory"
Solved my problem, never more had any issues

I installed Xposed Framework and the App Settings 1.5 module. But I don't got secLauncher in the app list. I got Touchwiz home instead (touchwiz start)(see attachement) but it has no option to keep in memory. Im running omega v49 with boeffla kernel 3.2.

services.jar patch works for any launcher.
It doesn't look for any process name - whatever is the default launcher is automatically protected.
I did not knew that "resident" means the same so now it's locked to OOM priority 0. Didn't have any re-draw so far.
And I did used supercharger script but still got the launcer re-draws. The script also says that com.sec.android.app.launcher is NOT the home launcher. I don't know why because I only have the standard launcher.
but it's fixed now!
Thanks !!!!

That's one of the more desirable features for most, but can't please em all. But without knowing what phone you have, what update it's on, if you have a custom rom or recovery, etc, there won't be a way to even point you in the right direction. There isn't a generic setting to just switch on or off to change this feature as it is themed in the SystemUi.apk and / or framework stuff, depending on what you have.

Well, then that should be fairly easy, as it has the Theme Chooser built in. There are hundreds of themes that will work on that, including ones for CM10, and many have solid status bars. Another option, if you don't want to theme anything else would be using something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/app-gravitybox-v2-9-1-tweak-box-android-t2316070
It needs the Xposed Framework:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401
Keep in mind, using ART instead of Dalvik runtime will cause Xposed not to work properly.

I installed it, but I don't see any tweak related with that...
Ok, after you install Xposed, you have to install Gravity Box (KK). You can download from inside the Xposed Framework under Downloads. Once you have the framework and GB installed, you need to make sure under Modules that GB (KK) is switched on, then reboot. After you reboot, everything will be activated and you can go into the Gravity Box interface and under Status Bar Tweaks > Statusbar colors > You can click to enable and set your colors.
There are lots of other cool tweaks that GB has too. Not all of them are compatible with every set up, so make sure you remember what you are trying to enable, so you can disable if it doesn't work the way you are looking for.
If you want to disable GB, if it does not fit your needs, then you can just uninstall the app and reboot, or just uncheck the box in the Modules section of Xposed in case you want to try it again later.
If that doesn't work, there are some other modules that might, like the Xblast one (also in the Download repo for Xposed).

Hi! Is there a way to disable the traslucent status bar on android 6.0.1 (samsung galaxy s6 edge), the black bar was soooo useful to me, I don't want to install any theme, thanks!!

xposed?

I have never used xposed but want to try it so i dont have to flash a new rom. Im just worried that i might get stuck in a boot loop and with no custom recovery yet i wont be able to fix it. Should i just wait for bootloader unlock or should i be fine. I have 4 kid and cant lose access to my phone in case of emergencies.
Edit**** i have installed xposed and so far everything i have tries in g3 tweakbox and gravity box has caused no problems.

What settings have you experimented with (successfully)? I'm interested in installing the module, but I've had a lot of times in the past (with other phones) where I've gotten in a boot loop, which required me to disable xposed from recovery. That would be very difficult to fix without a custom recovery, so I'm torn on whether or not to install it. Not sure how long a custom recovery is going to take.
I don't mean to be the voice of unsound reason, but I think the concerns are overstated.
Use TB to backup your apps and the associated data/meta data.
If you jack your phone up you can use the factory recovery and restore from the readily available factory roms.
If you jack your phone up so bad that you cant get into recovery... you probably shouldn't be doing anything you find on this site.

This actually happened to me. I TiBued everything then tried to change the build.prop. Bootlooped, and I was stuck without a phone overnight until I saw the post over in the back to stock thread on how to get it back working (Sprint is a slightly different procedure). That said, I'm back to where I was without much lost.

Has anyone used G3 Tweaksbox to chang the status bar icons with success? So far, I've been able to modify the clock, battery icon, hide some status bar icons, change the behavior of the home button, disable the charging notifications, and hide some navigation bar items, all without an issue. But I'd love to replace the signal icons with something more reasonable. Sprint's LTE/3G icons are such a waste of space. I assume that the status bar icon pack would change those, but I haven't tried.
I'm very tentative with the changes, because I must've borked my S4 5 or 6 times modifying stuff with the tweak module that was available for that. It wasn't a big deal then, because I could just flash the disabler, or restore to a nandroid backup. We obviously don't have that luxury yet. I'm sorry if this comes off as "drama" to some, but I'm just trying to avoid having to flash it back to stock if I can.
I'm using xposed with gravity box & xblast tools. Changed the status bar icons, color, & could only change navbar size. Can only go so small before it distorts but you can see it as you slide the size slider.
Almost forgot, & for whatever reason I can't edit post but, I also tried using the 3 dot menu, don't try, totally lost navbar. I panicked for a couple seconds but just went to settings/apps/all & uninstalled 3 dot menu right from there, rebooted & all was good.

The sprint specific stuff is where I personally would err on the side of caution as well. I'm very happy that it turned out well for those who changed those icons. A list of settings that are confirmed working on the sprint variant would be nice for other forum members to have in the OP.
I can confirm that "enable status bar sliding" in g3 tweaksbox works. Just be sure to uncheck automatic brightness under display in settings.

Change Soft Keys Navigation

Hey all. Is there any way of changing the stock V10 Navigation buttons look. I honestly am not happy with them.
I already tried using SoftKeyz and it did not work. I installed BusyBox but got rid of it as it seemed to slow down my phone and overheat a little.
Is there any solution to this?
Well (if you consider rooting your phone) you could install xposed and G4 TWEAKS box which enables you to install various themes for your navigation bar
Word of advice. So far root is problem free for me. But xposed cripples the second screen. So be advised if you consider this option
Phone is already rooted. I am waiting on an xposed fixed before I grab it. Have their been any updates on the FC?
