[APPS] [RamFriendly] Must Have Minimalistic Apps ~Less Than 5mb - Samsung Galaxy Star

Lucid Browser
"Lucid Browser itself is fairly minimal, but this is by design.
It is built to be lightweight, and at 535 KB, it certainly succeeds at that goal.
And to that end, you’ll find a collapsible sidebar that houses your bookmarks, sharing options, and settings.
But best of all, the app is open source, with all the relevant code available on GitHub."

thanks for sharing, works on my i8000, camera is slow
request: able to copy text, and right handed landcape.
.............
First off: Very cool idea! Always wanted this for my phone.
However...I'm having some issues. I installed the cab to my HTC HD2 T8585 (tried both Storage Card and Internal), but whenever I launch it, I get:
"Cannot Init camera"
Now, I am running a custom rom, so that may have something to do with it.
Let me know if you have any ideas on fixing it And again, nice idea.
Hi, thank you for this app.
Works preety well on my Toshiba TG01, little slower but its first version
Only bug i see is reversed camera.
Sorry for my english.
Regards.
Works on Kaiser(tytn II/wm6).
Slow but works.
EDIT:Camera output is mirrored and tilted 90 degrees.
Where is the link to download?

Link is in first post of this thread .
works on t-mobile touch pro2, installed it on storage card memory.
background lags and i don't know how to select the receiver.
Thank you very much
hey, great job. seems to work great on my HD2. Was wondering if hold buttons like a and o to get alternite symbols like å and ä and ö could be implemented? While being a great software i cant use my Swedish language on it
I wonder if you reduce the FPS would reduce the memory overcharge and would give a impression of smoothness.
Updated my ROM and it's working, good job!

Tested on: Rhodium GSM, great app a little slow when typeing it feels like the vibrating on tap is making it run slow wen typeing, scrolling on contacts is also a bit slow, also since its ment for hd2 the screen turns to the opeside side of the keyboard. It would be great to see an update with settings to set the vibration wen tap to minimun or disable & to chose the side of rotation (for support w other devices). looking foward for further development
Testing..!!!
thank you for the awesome development..!!!

Yes, this feature is in the free version.
Go to keyboard settings -> layout -> landscape layout -> and select from the list "split".
BTW. I managed to brick (black screen on boot) my Captivate yesterday... I am writing from my computer.

[Q] [REQ] Source for IME that has T9, or IME developer willing to do an enhancement

Introduction
I want to develop an input method for a Sharp 007SH, one of a family of Android phones released in Japan which has a 10-key numeric keypad, like classic phones (this is a clamshell form factor). The stock IME handles regular multi-tap English input but its mainly aimed at entering Japanese.
All the IMEs i have tried so far either ignore the keypresses coming from the keypad (resulting in a basic-multitap input method with no suggestions and many symbols unaccessible), or the ones that do cater for HW keyboards just output the numbers (which is technically correct).
Aim
I would like to map the numeric keypad to a T9 IME to allow T9 text editing from the keypad.
Method
I am considering writing my own T9 routine to add to an existing opensource keyboard (Any SoftKeyboard). However that will take more time as the first step would have to be to program a successful T9 implementation. However I would rather do the following:
Modify the source of an existing IME that handles both T9 input, and HW Keyboards (with suggestions). I believe it would be a simple mapping of the numeric keys to the T9 functions/routines
OR
Enlist the help of a kind developer who maintains such a keyboard IME, to enable T9 entry via the keypad. That would negate the need to give up your own source code, and of course i will be willing to do beta-testing, as well as purchase the resulting keyboard software (with an extra donation), and of course encourage all other 007SH/SH7218U users to purchase the software
Details
The API info (including keyboard scan codes etc) can be found here:
https://sh-dev.sharp.co.jp/android/modules/download/?/api_keycode
Unfortunately it is in Japanese and google doesnt seem to like translating it, but the main table looks like this:
Code:
007SH, 101SH, SH-02D, DM011SH, IS14SH
Hard key Keycode name Code
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Left Softkey (Email key/Emoji key) KEYCODE_SOFT_LEFT 1
Right softkey
(Browser key/Input mode selector) KEYCODE_SOFT_RIGHT 2
Up cursor key KEYCODE_DPAD_UP 19
Down cursor key KEYCODE_DPAD_DOWN 20
Left cursor key KEYCODE_DPAD_LEFT 21
Right cursor key KEYCODE_DPAD_RIGHT 22
Center cursor key KEYCODE_DPAD_CENTER 23
Call button KEYCODE_CALL 5
EndCall button
(longpress for power) KEYCODE_ENDCALL 6
10 key KEYCODE_0 to KEYCODE_9 7 to 16
* KEYCODE_STAR 17
# KEYCODE_POUND 18
If possible i would like to make use of the softkeys with the IME, similar to how Nokias do their T9.
Is there anyone who can help? Links to open-source or places to download IME source (which has T9) would be greatly appreciated
Nobody have any links to open-source T9 projects? Or are these all private?
DominikB,
Do you have any progress on yr keyboard?
2 All,
Anybody have seen keyboard that can handle numeric keypad input? I've recently bought Chinese dual-sim cell phone with numeric keypad (Halcyon H600), but I found that it's numeric keypad is only usable for entering number with dialpad, but it's not working for typing text in other apps (like sms or browser).
I'd also like to see further report and success, not only for the Sharp phone mentioned, or if not sharp's keyboard dumped and made to be used on this phone if at all possible:

This would be great phone for people who are afraid of smartphones and don't want all the buttons. Ebay has these phones for 80 to 97 bucks a pop. I'd get one for my mom if there was a better numeric key map for, as she hates phones with all kinds of buttons and gets lost on a totally touch phone with no buttons. But could see her getting a lot of use out of android smart app's, grocery, banking, perscription and et cetera app's.
Have ya tried getting it from the Nextel Motorolla i886?
It has a full QWERTY Keyboard but also has a numeric keypad.

[APP] SwiftKey Flow Keyboard Beta 4.0.0.61 - DOWNLOAD LINK

Hey all, not sure who knows about this, but I ran into it and thought I'd share it.
Amazing job by the SwiftKey developers.
Great for people who type in more than one language at a time.
I'm simply sharing this awesome app.
All credit goes to the SwiftKey developers.
Enjoy!
Old trial expired. Make sure to download the new one in order for predictions to work.

-or-
http://www.swiftkey.net/flow/
SwiftKey Flow Beta 4.0.0.61 changelog (taken from their website):
-Flow-through-space autocommit: if you flow-through space but mess up your last word, all the prior words will be inserted (instead of losing all the words)
-Flow in landscape on tablets (not on split layout with numpad)
-Battery usage improved (when flowing and when not in use)
-Performance of flowing and tapping improved
-Longpress of bottom-right (smiley/enter) button now works
-Fixed some force close issues
-Fixed some memory leaks
-Predictions not lost when changing keyboard layout (e.g to symbols)
-Fixed DOuble CApitalization issue
Things to be aware of:
-Flowing currently only works in fields where you see the prediction bar: in fields that have their own prediction or completion there is no prediction bar and therefore no Flow (e.g. URL bars, search bars, the “to” field of an email)
-Flow-through-space only works in languages where smart space works – in some languages this is turned off because words are often made by combining other words together, and so smart space would divide up words that you want to keep as one. Arabic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, Georgian, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Persian (Farsi), Romanian, Swedish, Tagalog, Turkish, Ukranian, Urdu may not work with Flow-through-spaceSwiftKey Flow Beta does not currently contain any features that were new in SwiftKey 3.1 (Berry theme, new languages, split layout in landscape for normal-sized devices)
-Slide-left-to-delete a whole word does not work when Flowing is enabled – instead try holding down the backspace key to delete word-by-word
Known issues:
-Flow trail is sometimes left on the screen at the end of a word
-Personalization service continues running when it has finished
-Memory usage is still higher than we would like
-Flow trail is very faint on some CyanogenMod ROMs
-Force closes on Motorola Atrix and LG G2X with custom ROMs >= 4.0
-If a language pack is downloaded while typing the keyboard is not refreshed
-Predictions are too large on LDPI devices
-Predictions occasionally lost when alternately backspacing/spacing at the end of a word
-Ukrainian spit layout is broken
-Estonian words containing ö are not predicted
-Arrow keys do not repeat on longpress
Tested to work on:
Hugger/Fau Novena ROM 11/25
The Padawan ROM v7 & 5

It learns from what you type to more accurately predict what you are trying to type out. It gets pretty damn accurate. Been using Swiftkey for awhile now, and started using Flow last week when the Beta launched. Love it.
I've used it from time to time (have both Flow and Swype installed), and it does a pretty good job. And, keep in mind that it's still the first stages of Beta release for it, so it's only going to get better from here. =)
Thanks for putting the link out here.

Nothing has changed there, it's always had that for "Personalization". It can read SMS, Facebook, twitter, etc, to pick up custom words for the dictionary. All optional.
i have personally been using the swiftkey flow for the past couple days and i must say i do like this. swift real swype that i have actually liked!
:good:
I'm using it now. It's taking me a bit of time to get used to keeping my finger on the keyboard, but this keyboard is awesome! Thanks very much for passing it along. I'll buy the final version without a doubt. I wouldn't have found out about it without your post.

Does anyone have the inside scoop with the SwiftKey devs that would know whether or not a one-handed operation keyboard is in the works at all? I swear by SwiftKey, but literally the only thing lacking for me is that. I'd probably pay $50 for that app if it was available!

nob that what I found
your from Lebanon welcome and I from Syria :highfive:
the LG Optimus Lock screen is very nice.
Good apps worth trying out (all available in GooglePlay):
Nova Launcher - quick and stable launcher with most features I use
SickSky - quite innovative launcher with very small memory footprint (something you can use when low on memory), it does not require any widgets as it has everything you may need (widget support anyway is included)
Textra - for sending text messages, quick, good looking, with emoji and mms support and... just works
Total Commander - my favourite file manager (can make quite good use of root also)
Aqua Mail - very nice (with low memory consumption) e-mail manager, I use it for external mail accounts
MODo - for old module/chip music (Atari, C64, Amiga, etc
MXPlayer - my personal fav in terms of video playback (with hardware and software play possibilities so 99% of the clips should be working)
OmichPlayer - my personal fav in terms of music playback (I need to have both equalizer and ability to play from folders)
Fast notepad - very light and fast notepad (I use it to store notes as all other notepad-like apps were sluggish at least compared to this one
Autodesk Pixlr - for quick picture editing (crop/cut/hue changes/etc)
SMS Backup+ - for backing up text messages and call log to google
WPS Office - my personal favourite in terms of office reader/editor
EZWeather - weather app with tons of cute skins, widgets, etc, possibility to set different sources and surprisingly not consuming too much of RAM.
Winulator-beta - well... I play Starcraft on my mobile from time to time
Free Heroes 2 - ...and I play Heroes of Might and Magic 2 from time to time as well ;D
Nova Laucher is really great, the best i had so far!
another great App is "Aard Diktionary" you can have the whole Wikipedia (in your favourite language) on your phone (saved on sd card, no internet connection required after saving it once)
