How To: Enable "OK Google" on all screens of your Android - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Want to enable Google Now voice search from any screen of your Android? Of course you do. Thanks to a recent update to the search app you can now say, “OK Google” from anywhere you want on your Android smartphone or tablet. It’s quite easy to do, actually, and here’s how you go about it in five easy steps.</p>
1. Open Google Search
2. Open Settings
3.Tap on Voice
4. Tap on “OK Google” Detection
5. Check the box for “From any screen”
You’ll have to train the voice model, which really amounts to you saying “OK Google” three times. After that, you’re good to go!  Now, which commands are you going to use?

}
A couple of things worth noting: This works whenever the screen is on or the device is charging. In other words, you can’t wake it up with the command. Also, if you’d like, you can add the feature to your lock screen, too. Just look for the other check box below “From any screen”.

NOTE: For most Google Now-related tips, you need to be using Android 4.1 or later.

HOW TO: when the dialog to install the software is up if you check windows device manager you will see another cd drive. if you right click that drive for the properties you can disable it so on future usb connections the software will not try to load. This way you do not have to disable auto start for everything on the PC.
Posted a screenshot of what mine was called had to disable both

Mod edit: Removed paid app link
Material Design is the new design guideline by Google. Android (including Wear) is using it from version L and up, here's a watch face to go with it!
All colors are fully customizable right from the watch, just long press the watchface, click the small gear icon at the bottom of the screen and you'll be able to customize the watch face as you wish.
Feedback is welcome and appreciated, I will try to respond quickly.
Troubleshooting:
Sometimes it takes a little while to install new watch faces over a slow Bluetooth connection. Wait at least a few minutes after installing on phone, by then watch face should be installed on the watch as well. Try reinstalling or re-syncing all apps to the watch if it still fails. This unfortunately affects all third party watch faces on Android Wear.
As always, source code is available: https://github.com/FruitieX/materialwatch

I'm still planning color presets and possibly a phone version of the color picker for immediate feedback in a future update.

Simulate click on a specific area on the screen.

Hello everyone. I am staying in a foreign country for a while and using a scooter to get around with the help of google maps by listening the directions through my headphones. Sometimes though i need to hear again the last directions and so right now i need to stop and take out my phone in order to do that. So here comes the question i have in mind: is there an app to simulate clicking on a certain area on the screen ( the green bar on upper side of google maps that repeats the directions, in my case

) and then reasign that action to my headset button ? Also i am running google maps in background with the screen off but i dont mind it working with the screen on either. I hope you guys can help me. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
If your phone is rooted, you can use "Automate" (Google Play free app) to create a macro.
Never tested with Google Maps, but I think it's work.
Thanks a lot bro !!! I got it to work with the screen on, now i'm trying to make it unlock the phone, run the command and then lock back. I doubt that i will succeed though but it's good enough anyway. Thanks again !!

A phone can’t be customized is like a shirt bought 10 years ago. Every time when you wear it, the un-comfortableness, the out of fashion feeling hunt you. Luckily, nowadays we can customize not only phone but also watch face.
1. Make sure the watch 2 is connected to your phone. Then open HUAWEI health app and go to device. From there you need to find the Magic watch 2 that you want to change the watch face. Click that.
2. On next page, click more beside watch face section. Then click “Mine” and Gallery.
3. On next page, you can change the background. Simply click the “+” icon to select the images you want to apply from phone gallery. You can decide the style and layout as you want.
Note: if there are more than 1 watch wallpaper in gallery, then all of them take turn to appear on the screen.

Start Android with 2 Apps in Splitscreen

Hey Folks,
I hope you can help me, search function didn't.
I have Android 7 in my car and all I want is to start with Maps and Spotify in Splitscreen. Is there a launcher which can do this, or any other thing i can do? Maybe IFTTT or something similar?
Of course I can start both Apps and activate the Splitscreen manually, but I am wondering if there is any easier solution. I found "Splitscreen launcher" but it is only for vertical splitting and it doesn't work on my Android 7.
AFAIK you can't start split screen mode programmatically
I want to do the same as OP.
Vivid launcher comes close, but they pair google maps with their own music player. I need to use Gaia for offroad navigation instead of google maps. Gaia lets me upload tracks which is very useful when driving a maze of logging roads to a specific destination. Also, the vivid music player puts a popup on every screen, which I don't want.
It would be even better if I could include a few icons (see image).
But ultimately I don't care how I get the result desired, as long as I can return to it with a press of a steering wheel button. On the head unit I have, I can manually do a splitscreen, but it goes away if I go to a different app.
Does anyone run something like this?
Is there a launcher that will do this?
