I've been looking around to see if I can find any roms but have only found flashable stock and stock with no carrierID(which i'm on). There was one major thread i found here on XDA that had to deal with development for this phone but it looks as if its been abandoned.(It started as a thread just introducing CWM to the device but it broke into a discussion on development of KitKat). Here's the link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616299 ...........On that thread a (beginning)developer posted a MEGA link that included some device files. Here's that: https://mega.co.nz/#F!QdcSmZoY!sdjlIrp0Q2VlDdYB2CGTMw ...................... They also said that you could use this repository(link below) for development due to the phone also being a Huawei msm7x27a device. Here is the link to the github repository: https://github.com/Dazzozo/android_device_huawei_msm7x27a-common ............................... So........that's all ive found out so far about rom development for this device. If someone with developing experience can guide me and deal with my noob ways then i will be happy to develop KitKat for this device as it is wanted by me and many others.
Hi, I am a java developer by profession and for my own interest want to learn android development .I am more inclined towards rom development rather than kernel or app.I have a few doubts that arose as soon as I got into it.
I searched the forum but couldn't get a clear answer but rather I was confused. So i am putting all my doubts here as questions and request people to comment or give answers or direct me to links that may help clear my doubts.Since I own a note 3 N9005 Its easy for me to test the result if I develop for note 3 itself.
1. Recently android 5 has been released for galaxy s5 .Is it possible to port it for note 3 when there is no base rom of android 5 for note 3 ?
2. Android 4.4.4 has not been officially released for note 3. How come touchwiz based ported rom exists for note 3 ie where did the base rom came from for porting ?
3. In the aosp source page, list of devices does not contains note 3 does it mean that developing from source for note 3 is much complicated than nexus 5 or 7 ?
4. Is there any android kitchen for android 5 ?
5. Are there tutorials which are easy to understand for newbie like me? I mean most of the tutorials I find starts at mid level and ends with pace.I request the members of this forum to please spare some time to help me out.
Thanks
Is there any one who can clear my doubts?
Hey folks,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 8.4" T705 LTE tablet that is very hard to find quality AOSP ROM's for. Not many people are developing for it.
There has been only one AOSP ROM that has full radio/LTE functionality so far. An unofficial CyanogenMOD build:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...official-blck-cyanogenmod-12-sm-t705-t3053004
Unfortunately, the developer has left XDA and abandoned this project. We haven't had an update to the ROM in almost two months.
I'm not a developer or a coder. I do have VMware and basic Linux skills. But I don't have a ton of time to invest in learning how to port a ROM.
How hard would it be for me to take the existing ROM zip (do not have source code) and update it with the latest Cyanogen commits/fixes?
Are we talking about a couple hours of learning or weeks?
I'm guessing I would need the source code?
Hi there,
as some of you may have noticed, Paolothlw8 from androidiani forums has started development and released an open-sourced CM12.1 some time ago. Starting from this, I started to port other roms to our beloved device. There are already two roms I ported to it, and more is to come.
So anyone wanting to talk about those roms here, is welcome. You can also submit ROM porting suggestions, if you really want a ROM to be ported to the Z7 Max, I'm likely to be able to port it. I'll also add tutorials on how to do basic things like installing a recovery, flashing a rom, updating to official lollipop, downgrading to official kitkat, etc. Suggestions welcome here too.
I'm also going to start development on the Nubia Z9 Max when I get my hands on it, for those who might be interested.
Any questions, any suggestions?
List of available Z7 Max custom roms for now:
- BlissPop v3.9 based on Android 5.1.1
- OwnROM v1.0 based on Android 5.1.1
To be updated when more is available.

Reserved for tutorials.

I am currently running my lg g3 (sprint ls990) on 5.0.1 (rooted). I have been doing a lot of digging into secure roms for this phone and I recently came across the Copperhead OS rom for the nexus line and was curious if I could port it to the sprint g3?
I have no real experience in java (some python tho) and only a marginal amount of linux terminal experience. If anyone can help me with project I would be very grateful. you can view the download page for the rom here:
https://copperhead.co/android/downloads
The source code can be found on github as well.
If anyone can walk me through what I need to do and explain the process I would be more than happy to give credit where it is due.
I would like to add features to this rom as well such as sd card encryption
