Is there a way to stop the 4.4.2 update notification? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Seems that the 4.4.2 update was downloaded to the phone and I keep getting the Install Now? message.
Try as I may, I could have sworn I saw somewhere on how to stop the Software Update message from appearing on the phone, but I can't seem to locate it.
Rooted Sprint SPH-L600 version.
Anyone know where the post/thread is?

If you're rooted, it won't install.

Stability update UK mega today!

I got an update notification today, I'm on holiday in Spain and I can't get the update to install. I suspect this is for one of two reasons. Firstly my google play app has become corrupted during the last few days and despite clearing the data and cache, unloading its updates it just won't repair. The second reason is because I'm in Spain and not the UK? Whatever the reason, bummer
Btw can someone upload the mega google play apt file?

What's been updated then? Notice any improvement?
Not noticed anything yet but it stated it was a "stability update". I didn't notice a stability issue before tho?

I got a "stability update" on my Mega just after I bought it a month ago - its a Hong Kong ROM - & that brought back the ability to move Apps to SD.
Kernel is 3.4.0-1025373 - what's yours now?
See above

New firmware being rolled out????? I527

I just woke up to my phone downloading a new firmware, can this be the new kitkat firmware? Can I finally fully use my galaxy gear with my galaxy mega 6.3?

No way. Kitkat is atleast 6 months down the line....

BTW my i527 is rooted. does that matter?
I received the same error. It informed me that the firmware upgrade was interrupted. Is that the same error after the restart?

You can download the app but the new updated app won't play nice with 4.2.2 it has to be 4.3 or higher. We have t gotten the 4.3 or higher update, so far I can get some text notifications and calls that's about it on my galaxy gear that's connected to my Galaxy Mega

Figures. Guess we'll have to wait for 4.3 to get full functionally.
BTW, I don't have the Samsung Apps to get the Gear App. I downloaded Samsung Apps from the Samsung site, installed it, and it's nowhere to be found. lol
*Edit*
I disabled the samsung app previously. Doh! Turned it back on and the was Gear Manager waiting to be downloaded.
Now all we need is 4.3!
Did it actually update?

Same error message received twice during attempts to upgrade; went back to upgrade menu each time and it finally seemed to take but never got a confirmation. Then I checked for updates again and message said I was up to date. Neglected/forgot to write down version prior to update but phone now shows Build # JDDQ39.I527UCUAMH1 but I therefore don't know if this is the original or indeed new firmware.
That's the original firmware..updated is JDQ.39 i527UCUAMK2.
Mines is jdq39.i527ucuamk2

Google play store update?

I was wondering, can you install a update if you are not rooted? I tried hitting install and nothing happens, only cancel seems to work. Would like to avoid rooting if possible and the only reason why I want to do this update is to pay via PayPal.

yes, but this should have been posted in the Q&A section. Not the "general" section.
Ah, sorry, still getting used to the app lol.
*edit* EasyEyes app was preventing me from being able to install for some reason, temporarily disabling allows the install.
