[Q] my watch doesn't vibrate? - LG G Watch

Hey guys. When I get a notification my watch doesn't vibrate. It does when I pull down to mute un-mute but not when I get a notification
I can't find anything in the app settings

I'm pretty sure I had to set the app on my phone to vibrate to make the watch vibrate too.

Same here unless I'm just not feeling it. Can't find any settings to change it.

You have to make sure the app on the phone has Vib checked off. I also noticed facebook double vibs but hangouts and gmail dont.

mine was vibrating (softly like every one else's) and then it just stopped. I had the box checked and everything seemed to be in order. I had to do a factory reset on the watch and that fixed it
---------- Post added at 12:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:31 AM ----------
btw, I was trying to use the Nato watch straps like i did on my pebble, but the vibrations are so weak that I can't use Nato bands and still feel the vibrations. Any one else having vibration issues to this degree?

Yup, vibrations are way to soft or don't happen at all. The pebble was great with this never missed a notification. Hoping they put out some software update.

There is already a Rom that helps with vibration

thanks, that fixed it for me. got the phone on vibrate now, but in the wear-app I chose to mute notifications. Now only my watch vibrates and it works all the time

Hi,
I have just added a "make notifications vibration stronger" feature in last SWApp Launcher Wear version:

[Q] Vibration Notifications ~ [Sorted] ~ Culprit was Volume Ace

I have been looking at the Notification Vibration in a number of Apps and don't seem to be having any luck.
As an example on my Galaxy Tab I have sound ON and in the Twidroyd App I have it set to Vibrate on Alerts which it plays both a Notification sound AND vibrates strongly.
However, on the SGS II with the same settings in Twidroyd it will only play the sound but will not vibrate.
Note: Both phones main settings/sound settings/ vibrate is set to Always.
Has anyone else experienced no notification vibration?
EDITED:
Sorted ~ See Post 16.
It was the App Volume Ace which had turned off Vibration Notifications.
I have the same kind of problem.
Incoming calls, the phone sounds but no vibration. In settings, vibration is set to "Always".
Any idea please ?!?
Thanks
Well I am pleased someone finally decided to add a comment here, even if it were only to agree.
I find it difficult to accept that everyone is happy their SGS2 has no vibration notification.
Come on members... voice your thoughts.
Only with your input can we then investigate further.
Hey, I found something interesting that brings the vibration to my incoming calls. Maybe it's gonna help you.
1. in Settings/Sound make sure you set "Always" to Vibration
2. Put a cross to Haptic feedback then set your intensity
3. Desactivate Haptic feedback
I tried to call my SGS2 and the vibration came with the ringtone.
Last step, I re-activated the Haptic feedback and vibration is still working with the ringtone.
PS : hope you understood my english...

What ROM version are you using?
Haven't tried this yet but if it does work well done but obviously there is an error on the phone in that it should work by default yet takes this weird method to activate it.
Now what about other vibration alerts..... any takers?
I'm using the latest XWKE7 with a root SGS2
The others vibration alerts seems to work good.

Interesting...... So this may be an issue with stock roms.
I have decided to wait until Gingerbread 2.3.4 before updating as apart from the dreaded no vibration notifications everything else seems great.
I'd like to hear from any other members please.... if only to say their vibration notifications work/don't work and what rom they are on... Thanks.
Mine rings and vibrates on incoming call. Vibrate is set to always and I've not noticed any issues.
Maybe its the ringtone that you're using?
Notifications seem fine too e.g. on whatsapp.
Oh and I'm on stock.

What about other notifications.
I.e. on my Tab whenever I receive a tweet I hear the notification and it vibrates.
The SGS2 only plays the audio notification.
Yeh other notifications from apps where I've set to vibrate seem fine.
I actually downloaded Twydroid to test it out - set notifications for tweets, mentions and DMs and set to vibrate but all I got was the sound. Weird.

You say other Apps though work.
Can you tell me of one so that I can instal and try it out to see if I can get the vibration to work.

I have the XDA App installed and that doesn't play vibration alerts.
Re Facebbok it won't let me sign in so will have to try that again.
However what concerns me is you say XDA works for you yet fire me nothing.... no vibration.
Need to look more into XDA when I get out of theatre.
Just about to go in for a short surgery.
Catch you later have to prep.
Thanks.
Sorted....... and it was unbelievably simple (and stupid of me not to notice).
The 'culprit' (although I share blame in not noticing) was the App 'Volume Ace' which I had already installed some time ago.
Last night after theatre I checked thoroughly all the Apps that should be sending a vibration notification and there was nothing untoward that showed any sign the Apps would hit a problem with a vibration alert.
Next step was to look again at my settings..... nothing wrong there.
Finally I then started to methodically go through each App which had some form of control to Sound.
It was not long before I found when you brought up the window of Volume Ace there was something I had previously missed.
Take a look at the first screen picture in the link I have highlighted above and if you look 'ever so' closely at the second volume control, to the right is a 'vibration' icon.
This icon was not lit up. So I tapped on the icon, this changed it's appearance to bright orange and closed the window down.
As I receive tweets every couple of minutes or so it was not long before Twydroid sent me an audio notification AND yes.... a vibration one as well.
So, all sorted.
Thank you to all those who have participated. I now am going to find a quiet room to hide my face of shame.
Ha no worries, glad you got it sorted and hope all went ok with your op, cheers

Yes, it's now performing just as it should and I still can not believe how simple it were in the end. Very unusual for me to miss something like this.
It would be easy for me to put it down to the 22 operations I have performed this past week and say they have kept me busy but that would only be an excuse.
Not to be picky, but looking at the thread title looks like it was the app (Volume Ace) misbehavior.
You can change the same setting in the stock/built in settings, the app will just reflect that change.

Confirming A Problem with Incomming Calls - Sony Xperia S!

When I receive an incoming call into my sony xperia s,(while screen is locked) I can't seem to be able to unlock the screen , and the phone seems to be touch-wise not responsive! I noticed that sliding under the "slide-bar" will exactly work fine rather sliding your finger on the slide-bar itself! which is odd~!
Is this a calibration problem (and how to fix it) or this is a design problem and I have to "live" with it?
And , did anyone face the same problem , or I am the only one who is plaged with this?
thanks a lot in advance for any suggestion!
Waiting for reply guys...
It should not be a design problem. It could just be a bug.
You can try flashing an official firmware using Flashtool. If you don't want to lose the data then make sure you uncheck the option 'wipe user data'. This should solve the issue.
Or may be you can wait for some one to reply with a quick solution.
No there is no way to fix it, it's the software's fault..
same here, the touch stop to response when a incoming call sometimes. After few trys it answeara.
But every time it had happend my have my fingers been little dirty.
i have the same problem, i'm in vietnam, when incoming call, the answer slider is not respone some time, can anyone fix this (.73 firmware)
same to me !
(FW.67)
wow!
Didn't know that this is an actual "bug" which needs a fix, I thought I am the only one here!
Now how to report that to Sony?
Hy, With the test kernel 9008 and rom Ultimate Xperience i can slide call incoming with no bug.
But need a root!!!

And when it's finally unlocked, I have to say 2 times hello, because the first time the caller doesn't hear it.
But after that it's fine.
Yep I've noticed this also, thought I was just not pressing correctly.

Me too.
Sent from the Delta Quadrant using a transwarp conduit.
I'm using fourth device (was replacing due to the yellow tint issue) and none of the phone had such issue!
I have the same problem too.
It seems like sometimes the touch screen takes a second or two more to activate once screen lights up as an incoming call arrives.

Guys I also have this issue even when unlocking the screen from standby, i can even unlock the screen I need to press the power button and then again press the power button to bring the device alive and then I can unlock. When I receive a call I cant slide to receive it, I need to press the power button to put it in standby and then again press the power button to bring it alive and then I can slide to receive the call. But after that i can cut the call as the screen is unresponsive. Again i need to press the power button twice. Please help I dont want to hate my lovely Xperia S.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Did you tried to swipe a bit bellow the icons on the empty space? This works for me.
Same Problem with all of us? Where is SONY to hear that???
How Can We Get That To Their Ears?

[APP]Support for flipcovers. - IntelliCover 2.0

Hey guys.
Just found this free app on the market. It's mostly for the ppl who are using custom roms that lost the ability to use Auto-on/off when you use a flip cover. This app is able to turn off/on the screen with light and/or proximity sensor. So whenever you close the lid, the light is gone, tablet notices and locks. Hope this works for you.

- It's not my app, just a heads-up.

The app works though it leaves an annoying notification item in the tray. Is there a way to get the magnetic function function back? Would that be something cyanogenmod does or we would have to hax back?
Go to "System settings > Apps > Downloaded > IntelliCover 2.0 and then untick "Show notifications", no more notification icon. Hidden thru Android.
- Well, my Nexus 7 2012 had cover on/off built into the CM and AOKP's.. So I reckon once the devs find a way to do it, it will be implemented. As I have said before, I think that more ppl getting the GPE will help a lot on AOSP builds.. More devs, more source code from LG and so on.. I hope more people will pick up one or the other edition of the tablet over the Holidays. Basically, if the devs could do "teh hax", they would have by now I guess. ^^ I'm sure it will come at some point. I'm not very good at that stuff, so I wouldn't even know where to start, sadly. But it will be doable, I'm sure.
Okay lol, I can't use this in dark rooms and gets over sensitive in other cases but for now it will work fine. Thanks!

Lol, damn. I was wondering if it would mistake darkness for pitch black. :/ Well as you said, better than nothing I guess?
Works fine for me too except in very dark room. In this case, I just have to knock on the screen to wake up and it stay awake but it misss a light calibration.
Moreover, In the app, you can switch off Wifi at the same time the screen is off (and Wifi switch on when screen is on, off course) . It's very useful and battery saver I guess..

There is a calibration process for light senser but I I don't it. It says "put your device in your bag/pocket/cover and press the calibrate button above"
Hey dude, if my device is in my pocket or in its cover, I CAN'T press any button.
I tried to press the calibration button before close the cover but now it doesn't work anymore !

Auto screen on...

I switched this option off and don't know how to turn it back on. Smh it came enabled and now I don't know how to turn it back on. For those that don't know what I'm speaking of its when you look at your watch and it comes on automatically
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Go to settings and turn it back on.
You can do it via the watch or the phone app.
Also it's not when you're looking at the watch, its when you tilt your arm in a "I'm going to look at my watch" movement.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Mine is very non responsive to the auto on from movement. My gear (original) was way more responsive. I'm toying with returning it it's so bad about coming on automatically..

This only controls whether the watch is always on in ambient mode. I want to disable the wrist motion from completely turning it on.

But then I get no notifications. There's not a way currently to make it just not wake up on wrist gestures, but appreciate you trying.

Why is it so complicated to mute this phone into complete silence?

There are two tasks that need to be done in order to completely silence this thing, and even then, clicking on an audio or video link or entering an app with sound it will still play it loudly through the speakers.
The are 2 icons on the pull down menu , "interruptions" and "sound". Interruptions has 3 options, 1. All interruptions. 2. Priority only. 3. No Interruptions.
In "priority only" mode the phone will still make all sounds when typing and locking or unlocking the phone, it won't silence system sounds unless you also click on the sound icon and put it into vibrate mode.
If you don't want vibration either, you must choose option 3 "no interruptions", this will change the sound icon to show that vibrate is also off (you cannot simply get to the "vibrate off" state just by cycling through the sound options, as there is only an option for sound or vibrate ).
Now even with phone set to "no interruptions", it does not mute the speaker completely. Say you're bored at a meeting and want to play candy crush or your favorite racing game or watch a YouTube video, sound will still play, unless you manually go to volume settings and lower the media volume to zero.
In previous models you could just mute the phone by cycling to silent and no sound came through the speakers except for clock alarms. (The G4 actually has a different issue, the notification and ring volumes are linked and won't allow setting separate volumes for each)

My note 2 has the options you're talking about... it went from sound to vibrate to mute. None of this priority interruptions stuff. Guess it must have changed post jellybean?
Kind of strange to not have a silent....but thanks for mentioning that if I put it on no interruptions I can get rid of the vibrate. I hadn't figured that one out yet.

lol hold down the volume down then just turn the media down and its muted, actually its easier than the note seeing that the feed back was there unless i turned it off completely. just did it, took me 3 seconds to do i counted lol i dont see where your getting all these setting for, cause thats not what they are for. they are for if your in a meeting and you dont want to know you have a missed call or text till after if your on the phone it figuers you want to know and use the sound why else would you be using an app with sound.

More exactly blame Lollipop. With MM it will be reasonable again.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
I dunno about you guys, but I just swipe to the left on the second screen and a speaker icon comes up (along with wifi, flashlight, and camera) and I just click on the speaker icon to mute the phone.
This is not a V10 issue, it's more of a Lollipop "feature". Not sure which Google genius thought that this was a brilliant idea to begin with.
It's an even more clusterf#ck when you have an android smart watch. Before Lollipop, you are able to mute the watch independently of the smartphone. Now they're all tied in, and it's freaking annoying.
Time for an iPhone
This is a severe and game-changing problem, for me. Next phone is an iPhone. No more f**cking around with hack phones (AKA: Google/Android).
You Effed up, google.
