This is the personal build of my CM11 used mainly for audiophile purposes. It consists of the following changes below aside from CM nightlies.
-Compiled with latest Linaro toolchain 4.7 and its NDK
-Compiled with Linaro optimization flags -O3 -pipe -Wl,--hash-style=gnu -fno-tree-vectorize -fno-inline-functions -fno-unswitch-loops
-Compiled with full strict aliasing (No warning error for kernel though because there're too many to fix)
-Some Bionic optimizations cherry-picked from SlimSaber source
-Boeffla kernel sound mod added from AGNi kernel by @psndna88
-Low latency audio/voice driver tweaks
-Use Superclock frequency for system clock used in kernel's audio codec

May be your EFS is broken, try to restore it if you have a backup, if you dont, i think flashing an official Samsung rom with Odin could bring it back.

When I did another full wipe and flashed Slim rom then flash devil kernel, I get back my reception and have no baseband issues.
I kinda need to be running devil kernel because I have second rom running as well

Tried a restore from recovery but didn't work. Mind you I flashed devil kernel once I flashed this rom so it may have something to do with that.
I had no problems when I reflashed slim rom.
Can you make a version for omnirom?

i used to suffer this problem too..
try my method:
- clean install first, let it boot completely.
- finish setup wizard, (setting up google account, etc) check if you got any signal?
- then reboot recovery, flash devil kernel.
hope this helps :fingers-crossed:

I too had those bugs..but nice ROM overall..we can update cm versions ota..
Hi,
I too get distortions, every 4 seconds or so. They were so annoying, that I had to ditch this otherwise fine, fine ROM.
Hope the cook can look into it. I mainly use my phone for spotify and pocket cast. So, sound is important.
Got back from visiting parents' place. I mainly optimized audio for walkman app. Going to properly optimize it for whole system with as little sacrifice as possible.

No problem. .take your time..your rom was super smooth. .just test out things..hoping for a great super stable rom.
I was busy since August and haven’t got chance to update the ROM at all. Now that I have some spare time, I’ll start with Note 2 I’m using right now. Fixed some audio glitches for streaming audio stability.
If you can provide sound quality of tw with smoothness and speed of cm11, it will be the best rom for me. Looking forward to test out the release.

It sure works! If you follow the instructions given in the development topic, there's barely anything that can go wrong.
The only thing is that there are a few bugs:
The camera does not work
Playing videos isn't completely great, sometimes in, for example, the YouTube or standard video app; there come some weird lines across the screen. But this is fixed by checking Disable HW-overlays in the development settings.
Sometimes video doesn't play at all, or closes randomly while playing, but this is very rare.
But apart from that it is extremely smooth and nice to use. I almost love it
And all the bugs above will, for 95% sure, be fixed within a few weeks, and it's pretty easy to update
wow camera doesnt work:/ how to fix that? and how about cyanogenMod 9 !? oh crap
Is the kernel included in this rom fxp132 cm10 or do we have to flash a seperate kernel... Im coming from ics stock with xsx kernel..
Step 5 is where im lost as i dont know what kernel to flash...
HOWTO
Install instructions:
1. Install a Recovery (there are some around this forum)
2. Flash Rom
3. Flash gapps
4. Wipe (only required 1st time)
5. Flash kernel (fastboot flash boot boot.img)

In FXP130 it was partly working, but in FXP132 it, sadly enough, isn't at all. At the moment there is no fix for that, but that surely will come!
In CM 9 it is completely working , at least, that's what I've been told

Brightness is fine. I've been to Italy last week and even in full sun, I could read my display.
Some people say the brightness is lower in comparison with stock rom because of the Bravia engine, but I don't really notice the difference.

says camera is now working
v2 Released. Scroll down for info!
Hello,
After lots of help from sirkay and FXP, I've built my own kernel that I thought I'd share with you.
This kernel wouldn't exist without the hard work of FXP. This is built from his source code. All real credit for this belongs with him (and DoomLord too, also an FXP Team member)
That said, this is my take and keeps the rather awesome release that is CM7.2 alive!
To be clear: This is a kernel for Cyanogen Mod 7.2 - Gingerbread! If you want a good ICS Kernel look at Sirkay's Thread.
So, what's different?
Uses a very recent GCC to compile, GCC version 4.6.3 which I optimised the build for Cortex-a8 and NEON.
Is compiled for performance not size (Optimize for size unticked)
Heap Randomisation is disabled.
Enabled SWAP - So you can use swap if you want to...
Default Scheduler changed to deadline, same as the Sony official kernel (still has bfq if you want to use it)
Default governor changed to ondemand.
CONFIG_OABI_COMPAT turned off. (This might break apps, haven't found any yet though)
Disabled CPUFreq Debugging.
Disabled FRAME_POINTERS, enabled STACK_UNWIND. Reason here: http://lists.openmoko.org/nabble.html#nabble-td6126708
There is no boot logo when this kernel boots. Each time I added one, the kernel refused to boot. I'll look at that. Just have patience, your phone is booting still...
(Here's where I make lots of stupid claims about how smooth, how buttery, how much battery life this kernel saves. Except I'm not a screaming idiot, so I'm not going to do that!)
I'm interested in any feedback you have, but I did this mostly for me.
And please remember the real person to thank, FXP. It's his source code I've used to build this. Also again thanks to Sirkay for his help and pointers.
Download it from here.

Could GB MIUI have the privilege?
Could we have a CM7 based MIUI 2.3.7 kernel?
I think GB MIUI works just fine and don't want to upgrade to ICS or JB.
But a better kernel for GB MIUI is always appreciated.
Thanks in advance, pls let us know if you'd be willing to.

Thanks sirkay, but the problem isn't that I can't make a rle file, it's that the rle file when added to the ramdisk stops the kernel booting. It seems to a bug in the SEMC loader, I found a post about it somewhere. Does the boot.img need to be padded out to a certain size to work?
Sometimes my logo.rle would work, but then I'd make changes, recompile, and the kernel would hang on boot. Annoying, so I've removed it for the moment.

Hi rivtre,
I'd love to help, but my Ray is the only phone I have and is running CM7.2. While I could make a kernel for MIUI I'd have no (easy) way to test it. It wouldn't be fair to anyone if I started releasing untested things. So I'm sorry, it's not that I don't want to help, but no. Anyway, read the next bit to see why that's probably not a bad thing!
To All:
My kernel seems to be terrible when it comes to HD video recording. Can anyone else test this? I get heaps of dropped frames using my kernel when recording HD video vs a FXP Stock kernel. I need to look more at this, but for the moment I'd recommend not using this kernel!
v2 Released!
Version 2 of muppet kernel released.
What's new?
Compiled with GCC 4.7.1
Reverted to BFQ Scheduler by default
Reverted to Interactive CPU Scaling by default
Added logo.rle so you know it's booting!
Removed Debugging Symbols (CONFIG_KALLSYMS)
Reverted the scheduler and CPU scaling as they seemed to be the cause of the video recording lag.
Enjoy!

Not sure if it works with the stock ROM or not - try it and report back.
Yes, like all kernel images, you can flash it with Flashtool.
You can OC up to 1.6Ghz.
I tried it, but It doesn't work. Booting failed

Just flashed your kernel, going to give a test run! thanks!!
Edit:
Well it doesn't seem to me that the camera recording works at all ... pictures = fine - but when trying to record video - the image freezes - and the camera app crashes.
I have to reboot to get back into the camera app...
Also, can't play any video I previously recorded...
Anything I'm missing?
I've flashed your kernel and did a cache + dalvik wipe...
Cheers!

Here will be my little contribution to the communauty, since I build my house alone, I don't have time to cook anymore (need to learn android... I'am from WM6.5 kitchen time^^ )
So here is the Idea, Building a collection of modded roms to allow dual boot....
Synopsis :
As you all know, by now, you can not dual boot Samsung official based roms .... but here is a workround, found by some, ( Was inspired by this thread ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120514&page=30 )
My way of modding; (sorry , it was late yesterday when I wrote that... it's corrected now, not /data/appdata but /data/sec_data )
-redirecting /preload/symlink/system/app to /data/sec_data
-removing Kernel and Modem flash files.
-editing update-script accordingly.
My Idea is to maintain an up to date database of modded built that are working in Dual boot.
Configuration is :
1 - Install Any Custom JellyBean ROM Available here at XDA ( CM10,1; AOKP, AOSP, all but SAMMY BASED )
2 - Flash latest DorimanX Kernel V8.X Avaiable. ( http://dorimanx.suckup.de/download/ ) It support any 4.2 rom as 1rst rom, and SAMMY JB official as second boot.
3 - Flash a SAMMY Modded Rom from this repository that work in dual boot as 2nd ROM.WIPE DATA/CACHE BEFORE FLASH & FIX 2nd ROM PERMISSION AFTER FLASH
Enjoy!
( you can now flash 1st ROM the way you want it doesn't affect the 2nd ROM BUT you always need to flash DorimanX kernel V8 after!)
First Modded ROM Available will be NeatROM 4.4 Lite. wich is a good base for a sammy day use rom.
Will upload tomorrow from work.
Feedback is wellcome.
So here is the Modded ROM repository ! Remember, flash it as 2nd ROM!

It's my thread
There are several Roms already prepared for dual boot. Most of them are made by other users, maybe you read a bit more in there, they have done good jobs on several custom Stock/Stock & AOSP Roms.
But hey, no (zero!) offense, if yours is better organized or more user friendly, it's all good because that's what it's all about.
Greetings

that's exactly the Idea, I 'm not meant to shine in public, my goal his only to contribute and make it easy to find for people wanting to make a Dual boot environnement with Sammy Jelly Bean.
Will try to make 3 more roms tonight, ( Omega, Wanam for example)
neat rom dualboot work fine in secondary with dorimanx 8.10
primary xtreme v.5beta2
good work
now i tried with any mod- i saw is not possible flash mod in cwm -maybe paste in system/app
edit-crt-off work------flash in cwm mod xtreme v9 4.2 apps-clock 4.2 and camera and gallery 4.2 working
flash alliance mod 2.4 naturally not work totally but now have edge zoom and save a screenshot in power menù
also ink effect work
WanamLite ROM added! Aroma installer preserved.
OMEGA XXLSD V20.1 Added! ( Aroma installer NOT preserved; default install )

thanks for your support, I feel good with Omega too, it's the last I have Modded.
now I make Bitfor because seems to be a really good piece of work too.
This repository is a way of promoting DorimanX Kernels because its a shame we can't dual boot a Sammy jb easily, for me dual boot is a way of always having a stock rom in my phone....now its easy to do out of the box for everyone.
I hav finished modding Bitfor and testing it. its very fast, no problem at all!
Really a good rom too.
Nice thread OP. You may want to add Space and Time 2.6 ROM if you're interested.
Attention: I'm pretty sure your multiupload links will expire very soon, so please consider reupload the roms to dev-host.
Or I may download these 3 roms and upload here for the community.
This is effin' BRILLIANT!
Thanks!
Never saw a site as worst as depositfiles.com for upload/download...
Dropbox or Vip-files please
Not sure if it's a problem related to WanamLite or this "dualboot mod" but for some reason, the status bar doesn't exist I obviously cleared data & caches. Everything else is working perfectly. I've never encountered anything like this in my two year experience in Android... Anyway, thanks a lot! :highfive: Dualboot rocks

On another note: Can we be sure it's the DorimanX kernel that gives a laggy experience of OMEGA v.20.1 and not the modification to make it dual-boot able?
I don't have the technical skill and insight to determine what the problem is.

The Doriman kernel makes OMEGA v.20.1 sort of laggy.

The modifications we made to this roms have NOTHING to do with rom's performance and all things related to this.
There is variant that Dorimanx is not working very good with Omega, because as much I love this kernel it's always beta and not 100% stable.

I have also seen that Omega is a bit Laggy, hoping future updates of DorimanX kernel will resolve this.
Just finished Uploading new roms to the repository... but Bitfor has a new version 7.2..so I keep modding^^
TO bseuhgm :
DoriManX Kernel 8.XX is for any rom except ICS rom. You can use it with CM10.1/AOKP/AOSP etc...
DoriManX Kernel 9.XX is only for CM10.1/AOKP/AOSP etc AND DOESN'T SUPPORT ANY OF SAMMY OFFICIAL JellyBean ROMS
TO ALL : don't forget to do a Fix 2nd ROM Permission after Flash!!!
So I've been flashing ROMs and such for awhile now and decided to jump back to Avatar ROM today. Since I hadn't flashed any kernels in the past few months I figured I'd throw Devil on there, hoping to get better battery life and other enhancements that come with a custom kernel. I downloaded the 7/17 .ZIP (from the latest Helly Bean ROM) and it shows up in my kernel information in my system settings, but running Devil Kernel Manager, Devil Kernel Config, and even NSTools, none of them show I'm running a tweak-able kernel.
What is going on here? Is the newest kernel no longer compatible with any management tools?
Also, If someone could link me to the last version of this kernel so i can test that, that would be nice.
Thanks!
It sounds like you are using the proper Devil version. You're using the one from @hhp_211's thread right?
If so, try DevilTools. It's made by DerTeufel himself and it's based off of NSTools. Try it just to see if those apps may be the problem.

Also, devil kernel config has never worked for me on 4.2 builds. It's pretty outdated and isn't being maintained AFAICT

In this post or its main thread.
And yeah neither of the kernel tools you listed work fully.
But lots of others do.
The deviltools 0.7.2 works well
Performance control
Kernel Tuner
Trickster Mod
Andromizer
As all these work awesome, some are more in depth than others
The bottom 3 are available from play store
.
Its obvious to have queries and doubts regarding croco kernel as this thing is pretty new.
Post your queries here, and you may get response from me or others.
Also, I am requesting others too, to co-operate me with this by helping.
Thnx for Ans...

I have seen the tweaks provided in the zip.
But, sadly more than half of them won't work.
It puts wrong values to files, and even to some files that are not present.
I recommend you not to try this tweak.
To tweak CPU, use apps like No Frills CPU Control etc.
To swap RAM, use RAMEXPANDER.
I will be writing my own tweaks for this kernel shortly.
And since, as you say, the kernel is trending in Indonesia, do remind that the kernel is only for Samsung Galaxy Star GT-S5282.
Cheers
thanks bro. . . .i deleted those files from the tweak on my system..but can i use ram manager pro to swap ram bro?.?. .is it really a swap ram?.?or a swap on cache?.??. .
awesome!

Its a framebuffer issue (in kernel ofcourse). Well, I have never faced such issues, both on stock and CyanogenMod.
I use the latest XXANAF3 firmware.
Samsung has provided kernel source based on old firmwares, which when compiled and flashed on newer firmwares (as I said earlier, I was on latest stock), results in a softbrick.
However, looking at this post, it shows that the kernel compiled from source and flashed on older firmwares had no such issues.
We did got around that issue, thanks to TeamRegular, and got a bootable kernel on the latest firmwares.
Luckily, that kernel did boot on older firmwares, but at the cost of 'that framebuffer issue'.
On a side note, stock kernel from old firmwares wont boot on newer ones, and the ones from new firmwares wont boot on old.
And again, I think the issue is present only in older firmwares. Most of the stock based ROMs are based on older firmwares.
So what?
Yeah Samsung did make changes to kernel (source) but never published them.
So nothing much I can do, I can make a separate versions for both old and new firmwares (with no guarantees that the issue will be fixed), but that will add to it being more complex.
