[Q] Moto E Network Lock - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Purchased a locked Moto E in the simple belief that it would be a simple task to have the Network Lock removed. Contacted 5 online mobile unlockers and none have been able to find an unlock code.
I have rooted the device and flashed CM 11 as I normally would to all my devices.
What are my options? Only choice is to contact the network vendor it is locked to?
O2 United Kingdom
Thanks in advance for any advice able to give to me.

Hi, just noticed your post after posting mine. Is yours pay as you go on o2? I can't get mine unlocked either and I'm past the refund period.
Have you tried anything else since posting here?

Tried again after a few days and managed to get a code. Msg me if you want the details of who I used. I was wondering if maybe it takes a few days for the IMEI to get into the system perhaps.

Unlocking?

Anyone have any ideas on how to unlock this phone?
Dont worry mate..
The moment some one unlocks the first windows phone they would sing it from the top of the houses...
There is no way you would miss that
The Mozart I received from Telstra did not come carrier locked. It's my understanding that no WP7 handsets can be locked by the carrier, though this might just be a Telstra thing.

All the UK WP7 handsets are carrier locked, except the HD7 (as the carrier which has it provides SIM free handsets).
I successfully SIM unlocked my Orange HTC Mozart with one of the 3rd party online services within 20 minutes. Search the web.

Maybe its all those anti-competative names Telstra have been hit with over the last few years that has turned them around. Or maybe they just haven't figured it out yet.
Hopefully should be getting one of these phones today, just wanted to know if I had room to move. Cheers guys. I'll let you know how it goes.
Correct, Telstra aren't SIM Locking any phones anymore.
Hey guys thanks for the responses.
We got the first of the phones already and can confirm that they are indeed unlocked.
is there any difference between unlocking the phone from Orange UK and from web based unlocking people?
any idea about cost involved in either case?

Anyone know where to go for an unlocking code that works? I've tried several different sites and none of them can generate an unlocking code for the Mozart

he did unlock mine
the guy's name is secany on this forum
so u can send him a private message
Actually, don't have to PM me to check. You can check your phone can be unlock or not here:
http://www.nckzone.com/htc/index.php
Just type in your 15 digits IMEI and check, if it says Supernew records, then you can phone be unlock by "some" (NOT ALL) online service, I recommend here
http://www.nckzone.com , price is cheaper than other and most important is code comes in <5 mins.
If it says "No HTC tool is available for your IMEI" then you have to wait for about a week or two then try again.
Thanks Secany appearing on the horizon
I checked on the website mentioned secany and message appeared ""No HTC tool is available for your IMEI". But I found on this forum that Mozart can be unlocked. any body got mozart unlocked?
Like I say, some Mozart will give result supernew records, those units can be unlock right now.

sorry, hspl has nothing to do with sim unlocking. it allows you to install custom roms, which are independent of sim lock. sorry if you were misled.
the only options really are - 1- call tmo and see what they can do or 2- google around and pay for service; i remember some threads about the latter option here.
I think T-Mobile's general policy is that they will give you the unlock code if they have record of you having the phone with their service for more than 90 days. But if I was you, I'd try calling them before paying for an unlock code. It won't cost you anything to call, even if they say no they can't help you. And I have heard of people buying unlock codes and then they don't work. So if you do end up having to buy a code, I would say be pretty careful who you are buying it from, read reviews, try and find out their reputation, etc.
Personally I called T-Mobile and they sent me the code in a text about an hour after speaking to a CSR on the phone, and they didn't even ask why I needed it. But I had the phone for more than 90 days too.
i did call tmobile. only problem j have never had an account with them. they asked if i knew anybody who had a tmobile account where they could link the phone too and there for give me the unlock code. only problem to that method is that i live in a AT&T dominated area (we have 3G LOL) and i dont know anybody who could have tmobile. only sprint and att /:

Unlocking

Hey XDA,
I've been doing some searching within the forums and they seem to have different answers and I'm not quite sure which is the way best to go around this. Say If I had a HTC 7 Mozart which was locked to Orange, which would be the best way to get this unlocked so I'm able to use my O2 Sim? Would I also have any restrictions on the device when unlocked and is it also possible to remove any orange content that may be installed on the device.
Regards,

Thanks, so that would make it usable with my O2 sim then. Does anyone have the prices for that? As It seems I can't get the price unless I have the IMEI code.

Network issues after entered unlock code
Hi folks,
I wanted to unlock my Mozart (branded on Orange France) by code purchased in one of these website from US.
The unlocking code was given, I enter it when asking and then no network service. crossed ring on the left high corner.
I made a hard and a soft reset
I install HTC sync connexion application on market place and configure it but still the same troubles: The handy search for a network but keep on No service.
How can I fix this ?
Thanks for your help.

[Q] Anyone tried unlocking EE L920?

Hey guys in the UK
So I brought the Lumia 920 from Phones4U, and I'm testing out which one will give me an unlock code...
But here's the thing: People have stated the EE lock is closest to T-Mobile UK, as the Lumia 920 supports the Virgin Mobile SIM too!
Here's the questions:
1. Has anyone here been lucky enough to get it unlocked from EE?
2. What sites have been used?
I have tried:
cellunlocker - Tried on Orange, may try again for T-Mobile
cellphoneunlocker - Tried on Orange, now trying on T-Mobile
fonezone - Tried on Orange and no luck, apparently no code for T-Mobile on that site
Good luck in getting EE to unlock.... Been trying for over a week.
They keep saying to me, as i didn't buy the phone from them, you have to get the code from p4u.. P4u say get it from EE... Ive even contacted Nokia they say EE should unlock it.
There is one site i found on here but its £40

What I got - was told to come back in a few weeks haha!
Yeah I've had no luck with p4u either. My main thing is that I think the carrier lock affects the NFC options for registering a card as I have not been able to get about bank cards on the NFC to associate in wallet
I was looking forward to that feature.

I've tried EE, P4U and Orange, they won't unlock it..
Tried foneszone but unsuccessful.. Thinking of giving cellunlocker.net a go, but I was reading that they all use the same database, so if one cant unlock its highly likely that none can.. And seeing that cellunlocker want 40+ quid and foneszone 'only' 20..

I've heard some success stories from them though. Any way we can know what batch numbers they have in their database? (my box doesnt have a batch number on the sticker, maybe some alternative method?)
Has anyone tried http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/lumia/index.htm ?
I am seriously thinking of buying a cable + box to unlock it, but I have NO IDEA where to begin.. Can someone guide me?

I haven't used them for Nokia but contact fonefunshop, they have always helped me in the past!
UPDATE. according to their website they can unlock Lumia 920 locked to EE for £30! I have used them several times in the past and their communication and service is A+!
I visited a couple of those high-street unlocking guys, and they said they could do it for 25 GBP and 40GBP respectively.. Anyone had luck with them? I don't know if I trust them or not..

Your order reference number is: **********
Unlock Code Unavailable
We have refunded your order in full. Please allow 3-4 working days to see cleared funds in your account.
Why?
Unfortunately the unlock code for your IMEI number:*********************************** is not available.
This could be because the phone manufacturer has not yet added it to their database, it is an unsupported model, or you entered the IMEI incorrectly upon ordering.

UnlockFrog
Just spoken to UnlockFrog who said :
"First batch of handsets are still processing with our supplier for this new service.
We will have the results towards the end of next week. The service is brand new specifically for EE handsets"
They've added me to their mailing list to let me know if they can unlock it. I'm using a white unlocked 920 ATM but I really want a yellow one, all of which are locked to EE in the UK.
Wait for a month and demand EE give you the unlock code free. They are obliged to if you are on a contract phone. I am waiting for a month and will be claiming my unlock code from EE. already tried and they said a month. O2 give you the code immediately or email yo you within a week. There is really no need to use those sites unless you buy pay as you go. If you are buying buying pay as you go why would you buy a network locked phone?
Sent from my RM-821_eu_euro1_342 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
so better not buying the phone from ee or p4u?
saw the grey one in the advert in town and thought i might go with it:/
want it unlocked so.
didnt find a proper offer in UK or Germany so far

Question OEM unlock grayed out.

TMobile pixel 6
On installments payments that they pay (promo)
Running Android 13 dev preview 1.
I'm looking to get some info on getting the phone to be able to unlock the bootloader but it shows locked due " unavailable on carrier locked devices"
I'm not a dev by no means but ive flashed roms up and down on phones with help of forums for years now. And this is the first phone I've gotten in payments I guess .I've contacted TMobile to get them to unlock my phone witch the second time I contacted them they unlocked it told them I'm developing for Android 13 lol
Problem is the option is still grayed out. Am I missing something?? Sim unlock? Idk should be unlocked right. I can confirm by using TMobiles website it shows it's unlocked and in the TMobile app says unlocked.
I'm running Android 13 Which did brick my phone for a while lol yeah I know I know but after messing with it I got it to boot correctly and it's been going for over week now no restarts.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader? Help would appreciated.
I've done fac resets tried getting to the setting never find that I can toggle it also didn't work on Android 12 before a 13.
from what i have noticed but did not read in any depth..
you need to call t mobile customer service and get your device unlocked so nothing is greyed out .
there are various posts about this here that explain everything
as i post this i think it is the next one down..

So why don't you post in that thread instead of starting a new thread.
Creating multiple threads on the same subject makes it difficult for everyone tring to navigate the threads.
Plus it would help people looking for the right answers.
