Which region firmware is this?
Also, is anyone going to try and flash this to C6802 to see if it is going to activate LTE?

I think it is UK, Europe for sure. Unbranded, too.
I actually flashed a C6802 Firmware on my C6833 which took away LTE, but left everything else in tact.
Unfortunately from what I have read the C6802 simply lacks the LTE chip on the SOC so actually there is no way to get LTE.
But feel free to try. If all fails you can still always flash back.

I am battling a different problem at the moment, so cannot try today.
I hope someone has the time to try it out, since from what I understand, C6802 does indeed have same SoC as C6833, which is SD800 MSM8974
There were discussions that 'maybe' the antenna could be different, but my gut feeling says it is the same.
Lets see..

I do everything with ticking an un-ticking optimized background, rebooting etc without any luck.

Yes did flash direct via Flashtool in flashmode. Without any errors.
Only when it goes to"sleep", ...SOD and followed by a crashdump.
What could be wrong with my build.prop file?

Unbranded does not mean no bloatware. It just means, that it is not a carrier branded version like vodafone or t-mobile, o2 or whatever with their special software installed.
What you want is a vanilla android version for the Xperia Z ultra.
Look in the development forums. Maybe someone is working on this.
With root access you can also delete unwanted apps, though in the newer android versions, you can also disable unwanted apps what essentially freezes them.
lol i don't mean bloatware in that way i am fine with sonys UI its just o2 version has o2 bootup and loadsa of o2 software pre installed and i would like to flash it to the international unbranded carrier free
if this what i am looking for?

maybe it will be available along with this New build 14.2.A.1.114 which has been certified :good:
Just thought I'd provide an update:
I rooted my Xperia Z using this simple tool :
http://download.cnet.com/Kingo-Android-Root/3000-2094_4-75996768.html
I then downloaded ES file explorer and enabled RW in the root directory.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en_GB
I edited the build.prop file within the /system folder and changed my customization number to the Xperia Z Three Network one, this allowed me to receive the 4.3 update. From doing my searches it appears 3 are very quick to push out any new update Sony gives, so since my customization number is now locked to the 3 network one, I should get 4.4 very quickly when Sony push it out. The only disadvantage of this method seems to be the 3 boot animation that shows up every time you turn on the phone , but apart from that it's fine.
4.3 is lovely!

Mines WIFI I'm afraid mate. Take a look around the Xperia Tablet Z forum. Sure someone uploaded the correct FTF.
Netherlands also nothing. This rom is still ok, no rush for updating yet.
I am with EE in UK and have had my 4.3 update some time ago (although I bought the phone sim free via Amazon).
That's so strange mine is uk so free no update here
Tried flashing a Singapore and Central Europe FTF for my UK C6833, but both failed to boot.
Mine also still hasn't arrived in UK on a sim-free Amazon.
It's certainly no biggy, but every single day I use this phone I find something to disappointment me a little more.
ahhh damn lol... i tried looking but nobody has the EXACT same one i need... i eventually managed to customize my cda to the uk by rooting it via the older firmware first and then did an upgrade which i then used to make an FTF... so both my Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Tablet Z are running on UK firmware now even though the Z Ultra was originally from Hong Kong and the Tablet Z (O2 Branded with O2 apps) was from O2 UK xD... i could of kept as it was but i didnt want the bloatware that comes with HK firmware and boy is it alot compared to UKs

GPe is not going to happen soon by the looks, two devs have bricked their Ultras so far...
I'm guessing that your ultra is locked to Bell? then the only option as far as I know is using Bell released firmware untill it is unlocked from Bell

Well if it is bootloader unlocked and you want 4.4 have a look at the omni or one of the two CM11 threads.
As for GPe no non GPe are running a GPe rom yet that I know of, there are a few builds that get some way through the boot process but not to a usable system yet

Your phone is CARRIER-unlocked - that is not the same thing as having an unlocked bootloader.
As far as I am aware, ALL Bell Xperia Z Ultra's have a locked bootloader that *cannot* be unlocked.
If you plug your phone in to your computer and run the PC Companion - you can upgrade to 290 - you just cannot have root given the locked bootloader and that the only tested method to root at the moment requires an unlocked bootloader.
Hassan is of course completely right. He's been in pain for too long now, and I'm starting to understand that Bell is indeed the spawn of Satan himself.
You'll never be able to flash a non-Sony ROM on your Ultra, unless Bell chooses to give you the unlock key, or if the world's most competent dev figures it out himself (which has happened several times before, but don't count on it).

Root on Stock Sony 4.4.2 with a locked bootloader is only available via installing via a recovery, which can only be installed from a rooted device or via the exploit found in 4.2 (532).
Which means you will have to downgrade to 532, install [NUT]'s dual recovery (no need to root first, flash the C6806 rooted 757 zip in recovery and then flash the stripped c6806 757 ftf file.
Of course, you could have done that for a short while using the US generic / unbranded files posted in the dev thread.
As far as I know the bootloader is locked on the bell version and cannot be unlocked which is the reason I won't buy it even though they are selling used for cheap in my area

I'm in the same boat. I rooted my Bell Ultra Z right after I bought it, but then I accidentally upgraded to .757, and now I need to get back to 532 to be be able to root it and get rid of all this bell crap installed on the phone. Would someone be able to point me in the right direction? This is all so confusing to me because of the whole locked bootloader issue.
All -
Is it just me or is the 4.4.4 Update still not available for USA Z2 Tablets? I got the update on my Z2 phone a while back but no go on the tablet. I have the SGP512 Firmware and I get the fated "Your device already has the latest available system updates" when I try the Update Center.
I have also tried connecting my tablet to a PC but still no luck. I thought these updates came out a month ago? Anyone else experiencing this or am I missing something? I have seen a few dated threads on this subject but no conclusive update as to whether this update has finally been rolled out for the US Z2 tablets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No One?
So everyone has 4.4.4 ?
I still havent seen it. Bought the tablet for the remote play feature and over a month with no word. No response when I ask Sony. I love the company but very disappointed in them now.
You can check your region/carrier with XperiFirm
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142
Looks like North America is still on 17.1.2.A.0.314...
If there is no update for your device on specific region and you want to update to latest firmware you can just use other region ftf-file for your device and flash it via Flashtool. Differences are more or less in bloatware that come with firmware. Also it´s reported that because only difference between SGP511 and SGP512 is memory size also SGP511 firmwares work fine with SGP512 device.
Ah thanks..

By th way you can force download an update image using Flashtool. A simple guide is available here:

Got it too and installed it. Yeaay, about time.
So for various reasons I won't go into I'm not able to flash Marshmallow in flashtool. I'm also unsure about the carrier status of the Lollipop firmware I flashed to return to stock, and therefore unsure about OTA status.
If you're in the UK, have you received the OTA? Also, what carrier are you on?
Thanks
I am on three, and have not gotten the update yet.
I noticed when checking for updates to my phone (customized UK) last week there was a 26.3.A.0.131 marshmallow update for EE phones but when i checked last night the EE update had changed back to the previous 26.1.A.3.111 lollipop release

Yeah, I have an EE phone. Got upgraded to 6.0 (via PC Companion, not OTA). Mic stopped working properly (people who called me couldn't hear me speaking) and the 5GHz radio disappeared (only found 2.4GHz networks) so I did a repair using Xperia Companion and it dropped the phone back to 5.0. I guess the release was a bit premature...

A customised UK ftf will work in Greece and vice versa a customised UK ftf would work anywhere as long as it's for the correct model Xperia. Only real difference is the pre installed apps and some say 4g instead of lte when on a data connection.

1) Were you r00ted prior to the update?
So my other question is this to all M4 owners, anyone r00t 6.0 yet, or should I wait a bit longer for a r00t solution?
I really hate the bloat/crap/push/garbage that SONY crams into the phone.

My charge port broke last month.I sent it back to sony for repair running lollipop on Vodafone and it arrived back to me with marshmallow!!
Blow me, the port broke again in a week. Decided to take it to the shop this time. Collected it today (they couldn't fix it) and I'll be blowed, I get given a brand new carrier free m4 back on lollyflop.
Whas going on.....mustn't grumble but I've lost me marshmallows
Was running smoooothly too. Zero issues
Okay so I don't know if many of you will see this, but I've started a petition to fix this Marshmallow update permanently. I seriously can't believe the poor choices Sony make with their phones. This Marshmallow update was rushed in the end, and this phone has the potential to be better. Heating issue is kind of resolved, it doesn't heat up as it used to, but there is still a problem with the animations. Stamina mode is really bad, and no adoptable storage. If you want to make a change, then please sign the petition right here: https://www.change.org/p/sony-marshm...xperia-m4-aqua
