Hi, I like PA roms but i miss the call statistics feature as i use this to monitor my outgoing calls.
could you guys please include call statistics feature in the dialer call history?
What statistics are you looking for? We have what stock/aosp has
#stayparanoid
Call Statistic that we can view how many minutes was there for incoming or outgoing calls. Within this statistic, we also can set date to view the statistics from certain period.. If not mistaken, i came from another rom (Slimrom) and the dialer got this feature.

Hi!
The statistics are available in the calls log.
- Open the Phone app;
- Click on the clock button, on the bottom-left of your screen;
- The third tab is Statistics.
Using the three-dots button in the Statistics tab, you can adjust the time range for call stats.
This call stats feature is part of AOSP Phone app, so it should be available in all ROMs using the AOSP Phone app.

Hi Alexandre,
In my case here i did not see the third tab. Please see the attachment..
This is weird... I do have the stats in my call log (see below).
It might be helpfull for others to help if you shared your version of Paranoid Android and phone model -- you may not be up to date or it may be something affecting users for your phone model only. As a comparison, I'm on PA 4.43 on a SGS3 ATT.

Yes check your version. I have GalaxyS2 and version 4.5-Alpha1 (latest update) has the Statistics tab.
Hi,
Here i attach my PA version. I think this is the latest version of PA for nexus 5..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
So i can confirm, the option its not available on the N5 running PA A2
At last, I was not alone in this..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Here the Nexus 4 with PA 4.41.. Also missing
My guess is, those who are reporting having call statistics are using legacy devices. So may be the feature is cherry picked. I believe all nexus devices with mainline PA support, doesn't have this feature.

XDA has helped source front camera access on a number of Windows Mobile phones for our Video Conference application on Touch Screen HTC and Samsung i900 phones.
This application is now in Beta (no charge for use or download) and we would like if users would try it out and give some feedback.
It is a work in progress and we are automating so your wish list item may be already in the course of being implemented, but please let us know anyway.
It is Flash based and compatible from WM 6.1 and upward. We have not had too many phones to test it on so feel free to give it a try. Some of the phones may not be able to access the front camera but it can still be used as a back camera VoIP or indeed audio only.
Another good thing about this is that it is accessed using SMS so no website login and invitations to be sent to millions of your contacts. We wanted you to be able to use your own contacts on your phone and send them normal SMS to invite to conference.
Anyway give it a go and let us know.

HI Misko903
This is phase 1 which is a multiple user group conference system for Windows Phone/Mobile (depending on what MS is calling it these days This system actually allows you to use your own contacts and SMS system to send invitations (WM phones for now) and once you are using Data it will work on 3G or Wi-Fi.
Phase 2 is what we hope to be cross platform on anything that we can get to work with Flash. This is expected to go into beta in about 4 weeks.
Phase 3 includes iPhone which is also in development and once this is completed it will have full SIP connectivity and this will allow us to integrate with Skype.
So it is not just a one off application, but a fully scalable system that will be open to all platforms. There are limitations on this phase (while in beta) which will cause you to have to reconnect if you slip out of Wi-Fi range into 3G, but this will be a transparent change once in phase 2 in a few weeks.
at lastttttt
will be an honor to test this.....been wanting this for a longgggg time.....

Play store takes very long time to make new version available !
here is a direct link to download new ver 0.91c
https://www.dropbox.com/s/t41queq69w9nu9h/SWApp Link.apk
Is there anywhere the app indicates the devices have connectivity? And what type they are using currently?
I know you indicated it would be fairly easy to add communications methods to the app, have you considered direct IP? My phone and watch are often on the same wireless network. I just ask because push notifications are usually so slow for - say incoming phone calls.
Looks good!

Same error tried uninstalling the old one and installing the new one and rebooting still same thing.
I gather SWApp link can't work with iPhones?
Is there hope of getting a version of this app through the iPhone store or is Apple too controlling to let functions like this be included in an app they would approve? If not, is there any move afoot to enable true smart to cooperate with iPhones?

Thanks for the idea, i have put i on the to do list.
Push is slow only if you didn't receive any notification for a while. Once you get one, the following notifications are almost instantaneous. i will add an option to "ping" notification at intervals so that it stay faster. We'll see if it impact battery a lot

Hello,
so I was wondering if it is possible to program for SWR10 and asked Sony Support. There is no public API. Too bad.
Well, it's a device, so it's hackable. But at this point I have no idea where to start. So I was wondering, how does it work with my Xperia Z2.
There are 2 main apps if you are using the SmartBand. The SmartConnect app, which is the main connecting app for all accessories, as well as the SmartBand app, which is not listed in the normal Android app menu as well as not executable. Though you can get into the SmartBand app properties via the SmartConnect app.
Because the SmartConnect app is the main connecting app not only for Xperia Z2 but other Sony Smartphones, and Sony can't assume every customer will buy a SmartBand i don't think any SmartBand specific code is used in this app. I think, the SmartBand app itself can be described as a driver app, kind of. So all communication etc is done with this app.
With this information, or theory, I decompiled the app. I used a backup of the apk, dex2jar and jdgui to take a look at the source code.
Well at this point I was surprised. It's a lot of source code but with the current version of the app (1.4.0.392) the source code is not obfuscated.
It's a lot to read, but thanks to Sony the class names and variable names help a lot.
At this point you can take a look at the source code, but not at the app itself, as many resource files are missing. But there is a nice application (yes, application, this kind of .exe thing that runs on your computer) of Sony called the APKAnalyser
I haven't really used it much and just configured everything to default (Android SDK, no custom one) and was able to take a look at a lot of resource files. I think, if I scan the app for Sony SDKs it is also possible to get to know which available SDKs Sony uses for the SmartBand.
I just started analysing everything, but wanted to share it, if there is any interested person. Maybe someone of you is currently working on a similar project? Or someone worked on a similar project?
Also, I am not sure if what I have done could be used in any kind for programming the SmartBand or hacking it later. I am new to this, so I have no idea
If someone explains to me, why what I am doing is bull****, I know that I have to rethink everything.
My idea would be the following (at first):
If I could manipulate the "driver app" or use my own, I could add custom properties to define the number of vibrations for specific app notifications and could add other custom functionality.
Also, what kind of legal limbo am I doing right now?
Cheers
PS. Links and Pictures will be added as soon as I am allowed to post outsite links
I think I've read somewhere that Sony had released the sources for SWR10 for devs. On XperiaBlog I think.
I searched for it but didn't find it. Do you have a link?
I already disassembled the SWR10 app and there is not much to tweak unless you touch the firmware.bin that flashes the SmartBand. And to be honest I found the app to work quite good without any need for tweaking.
I had a look for the link mentioned by KyleSforza, but couldn't find it.
I'm interested in this - it would be great to be able to control via Tasker or similar.
It would be good to cook up some IFTTT recipes for the Smartband, like people do with the Jawbone devices.
SmartBand Notifications App
I hacked together an app to control the SmartBand's vibrations.
Its a Tasker plugin which can be set to output a series of notifications with a defined interval between them. The app can be then selected in the SmartBand Notifications configuration so the notifications cause a vibration.
An infinite number of notifications can be generated and notifications can also be cancelled at any point.
Consider this alpha code..
The code is based on the Locale demo plugin so probably would work with anything that can load Locale plugins. Not tested in anything other than Tasker though.
The APK is here (replace the xx - can't post links yet):
hxxps://github.com/markchalloner/smartbandnotifications/raw/master/bin/SmartBandNotifications.apk
The code is here (needs a bit of cleanup)
hxxps://github.com/markchalloner/smartbandnotifications
Screenshots attached.
I wonder if it would be possible to make an app that only let's unlock the phone when smartband is connected. If the band is disconnected regular pattern or pin should be inserted to unlock.

That's a good idea. I think there are apps already that lock the device if a bluetooth device is disconnected.
Was wondering if there was any development that could extend the functionality of this device beyond what Sony has intended for it to do....
Maybe the Xposed community will pick up the device and we could get some new crazy features, this is XDA and anything goes.

Just an idea which I haven't tried it myself. Since a notification will be generated whenever smartband connect or disconnect, maybe you can use tasker with profile on notification. So when you get notification with smartband connected, you disable keyguard in task. Likewise for disconnected notification, you enable the keyguard.

Sorry about that. Fixed.
I just saw that Sony left the nfc chip inside the smartband editable.
For example, with a nfc editor app (I use NFC tools) I launch a Tasker menu when my phone touch the smartband to let me choose some actions as launching the alarm, smartalarm or lifelog. The only limit is our imagination.
I would love to have the possibility to turn pages within the Kindle app with a tap on the Smartband. Does anyone know if and how this could be achieved?
Hi, I've been using Ubuntu Touch Vivid Vervet on my Nexus 4 for past few days and I have some questions:
0) Do I use the best version? I've found out it should be released on 2015, so is this some preview version? I'm using 15.04 (r1)
1) Is there a way how to get notifications from apps? I mean for exmple emails (gmail) or facebook (not necessary), mainly the emails concerne me
2) is there a way how to change default white background on apps scope?
3) is there way how to get step counter working? I've seen it on screenshots on welcome screen bubble statistics and I'd like to have it too
4) how updating works? Does this welcome screeen bubble statistics persits after flashing new/other builds? Can I somehow backup and then restore it?
5) can I somehow access internal storage? (I dualboot with lollipop).. I've found this guide, but it doesn't work, I guess because it is almost one year old and I have newer release. It fails on this command
Code:
$sudo mount --bind /userdata/media/0 ~/Mount
saying this path doesn't exist or something like that
6) When calling, other side complains that he/she can barely understand what I say (I can hear them ok), that sound quality is very poor. I don't have this issue on Android, so it shouldn't be HW error. Is this known bug or is it connected to wrong release I maybe use?
Thanks
Hi!
The recommended channel for end-users is called "ubuntu-rtm/devel". That's the channel which the commercial Ubuntu phones which will be realeased soon will use as well. It gets a lot of updates but is still somewhat behind the devel channel. Therefore, you get much more stable builds.
The devel-proposed channel is what the developers of the OS are using. It always contains the latest software but the drawback is that it sometimes doesn't even boot. The "normal" devel channel infrequently gets updated, stable builds from the devel-proposed channel but those are pushed out very infrequently.
Therefore, I'd recommend every end-user to go with the "ubuntu-rtm/devel" channel instead of the "normal" devel or devel-proposed channels.
GMail notifications should work if add your GMail account in the settings and tick the checkbox which allows the GMail (web-)app to use it.
I am currently working on some fixes for some issues with that feature. Maybe you're hitting the same ones as I do.
Changing the background is not supported. You can only change the lockscreen background. (There's an option in the settings for that.)
What do you mean with "step counter"? Do you want the phone to count how many steps you make? If that's what you're looking for, then I have to tell you that it's currently not possible.
After logging in to your Ubuntu One account in the settings app, you'll get update notifications whenever a new build is available. (Updates are very unlikely to appear on the devel (vivid) channel though as described above.)
I read you're dualbooting with Lollipop so switching channels won't be that easy. I wrote a little backup script a while ago, which requires an Ubuntu PC with the Ubuntu SDK installed though. Here's the link: https://github.com/nikwen/phablet-scripts
For sharing data, check out this thread. It worked for me when I tried it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595752
The sound issue could indeed be an issue with the devel (vivid) channel. Maybe it will be better on the ubuntu-rtm/devel channel. However, I really don't know.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

I guess you're on the devel channel, right? I really suggest switching to the stable channel, which is, although based on 14.10, more up to date than the 3-months-old devel builds.
Actually, I fixed my notification issues some time ago and have now been waiting to get my patches reviewed and merged for almost two months. I've almost given up that this will ever happen...
If you want to increase the problem's importance, please select that the following 4 bugs affect you:

Maybe that creates some pressure so that the patches will eventually be merged.

That makes sense, of course. I didn't know you were using a Nexus 5.
I'd recommend going with "ubuntu-rtm/14.09" then, as the stable channel is currently just an alias for that one:
Code:
ubuntu-touch/stable (alias to ubuntu-touch/ubuntu-rtm/14.09)
However, that will probably change in the future.

I really beg you: Please select that the following bugs affect you (login with the Ubuntu One account which you also used to set up your phone):
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/account-polld/+bug/1405645
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/account-polld/+bug/1405646
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/account-polld/+bug/1405649
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/account-polld/+bug/1405651
Fixes are there. It's just that nobody is looking into merging them.
I'm currently trying to create some pressure here and people marking them as affecting them would really help!
Simple module to make Android Auto less restrictive. History on this module can be found here and an article about the in-motion tap limits here. This module should remove the "speed bump" notification (Browsing locked for safety) and allow you to scroll through lists (playlists, song lists, etc) without hindrance.
There's also a reddit thread/request which has more specifics about what this module is trying to accomplish.
Features:
Should work for all aftermarket AA-capable headunits (might require a hard-wired bypass module depending on model)
Should also work for most OEM AA headunits that are built into newer vehicles
Should also work for standalone AA running on a phone and not connected to a headunit
Here comes the really large and obnoxious disclaimer.......
This module can alter the built-in safety features that Google has implemented in Android Auto. By downloading and installing, you agree that YOU, and only YOU, are solely responsible for any negative repercussions that may result. This can include injury to yourself and/or others, property damage, or loss of life. Under no circumstances is the author of this module responsible for its use!
...not that a simple disclaimer on a forum post would go far if anything were to happen, but I felt the need to put it out there. Please use YOUR best judgement when it comes to operating a vehicle and futzing with your Android Auto headunit.
Development and testing was done on a Nexus 5x running Android Auto v1.6.240040 (2719917-release) and a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX w/ micro bypass. This should work on any Lollipop and newer rom, assuming Android Auto works on it.

What does this mod do?
"Make Android Auto less restrictive" is very vague, and the history thread is disorganized. Can you add a feature list?

Sorry about that. I've added a few lines about what it does to the OP.

amazing, exactly what I have been looking for.
Installed on a Sprint Galaxy S5 with blisspop rom. Will give it a run tomorrow and report back. I just set the number of taps to 999.

That's odd. When I edit the first post, I can see that the APK is attached. But it isn't showing up. It's probably something to do with the DevDB project.
I've added it to the Downloads tab up top though. And I'll put the xposed repo link on the OP.
Works great! thank you for this. This is highly needed and worked with out a hitch for me on a quick test of spotify (was on a quick drive and was unable to test everything)

Looks great now, downloaded and tested successfully with the Head unit hack using self mode! Great experience
update on my test, works great on my Sprint Galaxy S5 with blisspop 6.0 rom with the pioneer 4100nex. The first time I tried, AA seemed to have froze when I tapped Spotify, removed the usb and replugged it back in, but the module didnt seem to work, it only allowed 6 taps. On my 2nd drive, it worked great scrolling through my entire playlist when I was in movement
Thank you!! Works great on my Droid Turbo with CM13, Pioneer 4200 NEX.
First time I started AA it froze and crashed with "cannot connect to AA at the moment, when safe please disconnect and check your phone." All I did was disconnect and plug it back in, and it's been great ever since.

Interesting. If it continues to happen, please enable debug in the settings and provide the Xposed Installer logs + logcat so I can account for this behavior.

I've used it about 10 times since then, running errands and whatnot. It's been working perfectly for me, no glitches!

yup, only happened to me the first time after installing the module. Its been working ever since. Thanks again!
This is fantastic! Great job. Let's hope you will be able to add more features in the future or that other developers will join you. I love Android Auto but the current restrictions (on which apps can be used for example) are just plain stupid. I understand that there are people who would abuse Android Auto to type entire messages while driving if it was possible but that is not the responsibility of Google. At least, it wouldn't be the responsibility of Google in Europe. It's a totally different story in the US of course
Updated the module today. I figured out that the values for "unlimited browsing speed" and "max speed parking card" were in meters per second (float), so the default of 0.5F is roughly 1.1 MPH. I've made an adjustment so the preference slider accurately represents MPH at which it will no longer allow for unlimited browsing.
Of course if you have the tap limit set to max, then it won't matter. But a sensible tap limit, combined with a sensible max unlimited browsing speed is now achievable.
I also addressed the crash at initial launch.
Hi agentdr8,
Great Module! Congratulations!
One suggestion: Please, can you add the option of "Execute action in the CAR screen"? The idea is: add one entry in this "unused" menu for trigger a Broadcast Intent; this intent then will be captured and processed by another App (like Tasker, AutomateIt, Llama, etc.)
Here some guide about "Broadcast Intent": http://inchoo.net/dev-talk/android-development/broadcast-receiver-from-activity/
For the "Car Screen" see: http://arstechnica.com/cars/2015/07...icle-diagnostic-app-expanded-car-integration/
I hope you agree! :fingers-crossed:

I'll see what can be done about adding some things to that screen. I'm not positive, but I believe most apps won't be able to display any activities on that screen unless they have specific Android Auto layouts. But firing off a configurable intent should be possible.
Stay tuned....
EDIT: Upon further investigation, it seems that this isn't doable right now. Those entries under the "Car" screen are services that have to be defined in the manifest. AFAIK, you can't inject service entries (and their associated metadata tags) into an app via Xposed. I think at some point, Google may open up that restriction for OEMs, and allow them to just apply a specific xml description tag to indicate that a particular app can be shown/used in that screen.
I can try and see if I can hook the layout inflation of those entries, and modify their titles there. I can also try and override what they currently launch (right now, just demo screens).

Hi agentdr8,
Thank you for your efforts! Good work! :good:
In reference to the limitations: Then I suggest to just hook the button for selecting the CAR screen. I feel this can be possible, and we use this event to trigger some intent. Please, think that sending one intent is by far more simple that printing on the screen. So, perhaps the first goal can be hook the AA UI for sending events to other Apps. You agree?
