I've never really understood custom ROMs although I've flashed more then I've had hot dinners
If you can give better battery life and smoother animations why don't they have that in the standard ROms like the tweaks etc

Interesting that someone posted my ROM over here on XDA....
You can post to the main thread, but please do not post directly to the downloads.
Can't figure out how to unlock bootloader. Readme says to enable USB debugging in developer options, but there is no USB debugging option, only ADB debugging and debug over bluetooth.
Nevermind: Properly installed SDK crap and it worked.
Edit: Nevermind
Thanks
First of all, thanks for working on the rom and making it better. I did notice less jitter in the animation. However, I didn't notice the vibration being any stronger that was one of the main reason I wanted to test this out. Is it possible for you to make it even stronger, I'm having a hard time feeling it vibrate?
Reduced lag is noticeable immediately.
Thanks!

Yeah, I'll make it stronger and increase the duration a little as well. Look for an update later today on the original thread.
mhhmmm it trew a SU error on me, it installed fine just no SU found. do you really also need root for this?
Hmm I just tried it and it appears none of the changes are being saved after the watch reboots. It works fine until then and everything is pushed over correctly, but as soon as the watch restarts it deletes all the changes? I don't know what I could have done wrong, no errors came up, I have root and ADB debugging enabled. Any idea @okibi?
For the life of me i cannot get the windows drivers installed. I mean, the installer installs no prolem but when i connect the G Watch, it doesn't get recognized properly by windows.
Any idea what i may be mssing here?

Thanks spiderflash, that for me recognized, but now I've gotten into the bootloader and the unlock command didn't do anything. The watch doesn't change and the command prompt just sits at < waiting for device >
Now I'm lost again, lol

You have to give permissions for adb on your phone.

nah you're good. now just click the right arrow on the watch and then click the circle. this unlocks the bootloader. you can read it on the screen
see the image for more details. can't show you with a video as my watch is already unlocked..
Ok, I figured it out. There were 2 issues. The first was when the watch booted into the bootloader windows didn't install drivers so I manually installed those. Second problem was I was running the adb console from the folder containing the rom issues of my normal adb folder.
Once I got past those hurdles I managed to get it all finished.
Thanks for all the help guys

You can safely flash this ROM over any GB ROM without losing your data.
For faster flashing - flash PDroid right after ROM to skip cache rebuilding twice.
Only thing - your account data might (slight chance) be lost, keep that in mind.
If you’re coming from 2.2 ROM – Factory reset is needed. Absolutely.
Standard procedure after flashing zip update:
Wipe Dalvik cache.
Wipe Cache partition.
Fix permissions.
After first boot your home will blink and third party apps installed in data space. This is absolutely normal and intended.

11.11.2011 (11.11.11) - To keep this date and to whose experiencing troubles with v0.54b:
v0.55b.
CPU governor set to conservative.
New streakOwner's tweaks.
wpa_supplicant.conf changed back.
10.11.2011 - v0.54b:
I'd consider this release as experimental, due to the following:
1. CPU lowest frequency is set to 128MHz. This frequency also works on even lower power consumption. streakOwner's idea that proved it's usefullness. Again
2. WiFi watchdog removed, as it consumes energy without actually helping the problem.
3. Change in wpa_supplicant.conf (to eth0), that at least seems to help uglyrooster, while not breaking anything.
4. New, revised version of tweaks by streakOwner
5. As a side effect of my USSD/Tether research - framework contains less Olleh/KT code, but it only make size smaller.
--
I would like to have any report of any regression here or in PM.
Thank you.
06.11.2011 - v0.53b:

Since you are already using a version of DSC (Dell Streak Community) you know how to do upgrade, just a reminder please dont neglect, do a dalvik-cache wipe, a cache partition wipe and a fix permission from the StreakMod advanced menu.
Optional, you can also recalibrate your battery by wiping battery data, while you are still flashing things , but be sure the battery was at 100 % before you stared flashing the updates and that the usb is still connected at the time of instalation, once you reboot, remove the usb cable and dont forget to let the first time your battery to drain out totaly until the phone shuts down by itself.
2.Guidelines for migrating form other Gingerbread based ROMs.
Coming from other Gingerbread Custom ROMs to DSC you need to be sure that you have the latest baseband 406 installed already,if you dont know which one you are actually using you can check easily on your phone, find Settings/About Phone/ and check the Baseband version (7th row), should read something like GAUSB1A140614-XX, if you dont see the 406 numbers than you have to update your baseband, as DSC requires and is tested to work with the latest 406 from Dell. To be sure nothing will go wrong during the flashing, it is highly adviced and recommended to use the DSC_flashme2.zip provided by (_n0p_) this way the human error during the flashing process is omitted. All you need is working Windows installation (32bit versions are tested) and the latest drivers form Dell installed on the PC. You need to extract the content of the zip file on any folder you like or the default folder offered by the system, DSC_flashme , but be sure to be easily accesed, you can remove the folder to any place you like after the flashing process, but since the adb.exe sits there , better dont delete it since logcats are highly apprechiated by the DSC team, to find out and erradicate bugs and problems. After the folder is in place , locate the flash.bat and double click on it, a windows DOS terminal will open, the instructions are clear for you , since you are supposedly familiar with such procedure before.
After the first reboot, continue with StreakMod menu to flash DSC which you have already put on your SDcard beforehand. You are required to wipe dalvik, wipe cache partitions and fix permissions before you conntinue with the reboot, due to changes between kernels used in different customs ROMs you are required to calibrate your battery first thing after the system boots.
3.Guide for migrating from Custom Froyo ROMs.
Many of the things are the same as above " Migrating form Other Gingerbread based ROMs", such as the upgrading of the Baseband files, the procedure is the same, note that some apps arent optimised or you might have trouble running them in GB , that is a issue you have to deal with your application developer.
4.Guidelines for migrating from Stock Froyo ROMs.
Running a custom ROM has its advantages and disadvantage (you woid your warranty), advantages are many thou nandroid backups, speed , flexibility, root ability, imporved battery life, tweaks to make your Streak do more than you are used to, quick response from the devs for daily issues etc.
Custom ROMs dont come in .pkg format as do OTA from Dell, but custom ROMs do come in .zip files, which then need to be flashed (installed) into your Streak. To make this possible you need first to install a modified image called StreakMod which would make it possible for you to install DSC. StreakMod is provided also from DSC in the pack DSC_flashme2.zip provided by (_n0p_).
Download the DSC_flashme2.zip provided by (_n0p_) All you need is working Windows installation (32bit versions are tested) and the latest drivers form Dell installed on the PC.
You need to download the main DSC ROM only form the links provided on the first post of DSC in XDA thread, copy it on the root of your SDcard where they can be easily accesed, or you can open a folder called DSC, and you can put there all the zip files from DSC, but remmember the place , as you will need to find those files later from StreakMod menu.
You need to extract the content of the DSC_flashme2.zip file on any folder you like or the default folder offered by the system, DSC_flashme , but be sure to be easily accesed, you can remove the folder to any place you like after the flashing process,
Now be sure you have charged your streak to 100% before you start installing DSC. DO NOT connect your Streak with the PC using the usb connector yet. Power your streak on and immedialty press the camera button, you will see a white screen, this is called the FASTBOOT mode "Wait for SD detect...." then you will see "FastBoot" tap on it and the streak will enter the FastBoot-Mode , you will see "Wait for USB FastBoot detect ...." wait 20 seconds then plug your usb connector to the mobile and after some seconds you will see "FASTBOOT_MODE", now you are ready to turn to your PC again and .....
After the folder is in place, locate the flash.bat and double click on it, a windows DOS terminal will open, follow the instructions there and reboot immediatly after you see the Dell logo within seconds you need to press and keep pressed both volume butons on the side of and then you will have access to Dell menu, select the second option by using the Volume buttons to go up and down the menu, once the second choice "upgrade...." press the camera button and wait several seconds, then a Dell logo with a triangle will appear, that is the StreakMod menu, try navigating the menu up and down with the volume buttons, and once second choice there " update using zip" is highlighted, press the camera button , then you will go to a another menu , where using the same volume buttons , you can navigate thru to find the place where you uploaded the DSC zip file , then once highlaghted press the camara button again and you will see the DSC_script doing its job, once finished , you need to press back button, and go back to the first menu where you select reboot. Once streak is rebooting agian keep your fingers press on both volume buttons, where you will see the Dell menu, now chose the first option, factory reset, streak will reboot by itself, let it reboot , you will see Dell logo, and then the DSC boot animation, wait now patience, if you have done all the above , nothing can go wrong, wait a little , then wait some more , bcs a lot of files is being genearated for first time, etc so this process can take some time, 15 minutes, if you have seen the DSC boot animation, it means everything is ok, otherwise you need to repeat the process again.

Help us, sending bugreports:Connect Streak to PC.
Dump log (i assume if you have flashed this ROM, you know what "adb" command is):
Code:
adb logcat -d >mylog.txt
If bug causes Streak to reboot, do this:
Connect Streak to PC, issue command:
Code:
adb logcat >mylog.txt
and try to reproduce the issue. (adb will automatically disconnect on reboot).
Send me "mylog.txt" or attach to this thread.
My e-mail is n0p[at]ukr[dot]net
I don't promise immediate responce, but this log would be very helpful.
Thank you for attention.
Thanks for giving us another choice of rom.
Have you got any screenshots and what overclock are we talking?
Method is described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302831
Will make some screens soon.
have you seen Dell released kernel for 2.3.5 on dell open source? this may help with your ROm and bugfixes..
good to see more development.
chrisrotolo, you could've noticed that i've replied in that thread
I think either watch_mania or DJ_Steve will release something big soon.
Right now i'm moving, and gonna be in that state for a month and just don't have time for that. But'd really love to.
Downloading this now.... this coming from fards gs 2.4 so can i keep same amss or the one in op is different ?

If your baseband number shows 40514-EU - you can keep your current one.
Is it also possible to disable the battery cover sensor for this ROM? That would complete my wishlist
This could be done. I'll take a look on my free time, if i'll have any
To my knowledge only SimpleStreak has this feature. Would be great if we could get it on more ROMs
NO Internet...
Everything seems to be working great. The OC makes it a little snappier, at least enough to notice it... just having ONE problem though, I don't have any connectivity... I have a wifi signal but it won't connect, it says connected in the settings but I can't browse or connect to anything that needs internet. Same situation with 3G, but with 3G I don't even get the wireless symbol in the status bar..
cdzo72, that's quite odd.
Can you dump and send me or attach here the log?
When Streak is connected to PC, issue this command:
Code:
adb logcat -d >mylog.txt

Gimme a couple days... I immediately nandroided back to my install of 2.4... I'll try this one again in a couple of days when I get a couple of hours of spare time...
I tried flashing the amss and dsp1 files for Steve and fards build but it didn't help, and oddly enough when I nandroided back to their build, I had to reboot twice before I could regain connectivitiy... like you said, quite odd
2 days with this Rom and quite satisfied. I have random reboots these seem to occur only After the processor has completed some heavy tasks I.e online flash content. Example I drove 3 hours using sygic navigator and never had a problem then I closed sygic and removed car power adapter checked 2 minutes later the screen was black and had to remove the battery as it didn't turn on anymore.
What I like about this rom is that it is quick and the dell stage removed, the battery's percentage and the phone apk is ok with higher dpi and overall apart the reboots mentioned seems stable enough for day use. Please keep track of the new updates and post them.

I would really like to see the log.
Could you connect Streak to PC, issue command:
adb logcat >mylog.txt
and try to reproduce the issue?
adb will automatically disconnect on reboot.
Just to let know that downloads are right now limited to 30KBps/15 sessions.

Sorry I didn't get you the logs, it may have been a phone problem... when I nandroided back to my original Gingerbread I couldn't connect either so I flashed the amss and dsp1 and still had no luck.... so I went back to bare stock and started from scratch and now I am able to connect...
BUT have run across another issue, I can update the Superuser app but it won't update the binary... so I manually replaced it and then wasn't able to use any apps that needed root... so I put the old one back, still no root; I had to flash the ROM again to be able to use ROOT apps

What do i clearly see - that's not a log of clean install.
Application permissions are broken, for start.
How did you migrate to this ROM?

If you want to upgrade Superuser+su, which i don't recommend, update busybox first and make sure it supports "busybox which" command.
Finally we get CWM Recovery for Dell Strek Pro.

It's in the works. CM10.1 compiles just fine, but i'm getting bootloops due lack of ion support in 2.6 kernel. I've managed to (mostly) port spro-specific things to CodeAurora's 3.4 kernel and fixed all compilation errors, but spro's device configuration routine is sort of different from vanilla msm8260 (some things are being configured by aboot, yet it's performing some checks that are unclear to me at the moment). Currently kernel fails to boot and device is getting into the blink-camera's flash-and-switch-screen-off mode (same mode device gets when it's turned on with volume-up+volume-down keys).
Oh, and by the way: i've tried to contact both Compal (odm and actual kernel developer for spro) and Dell to get information about what kernel was used in that unreleased 062-world wide dell rom. Compal's mailserver refused to deliver my message, and Dell's opensource departament people responded only once askung if i seek information on 2.6 kernel. I've re-stated that i'm seeking information on 062 rom and 3.x kernel - no word from them since then
So, we're up to ourselves with this one. If anyone's capable and willing to help with resolving 3.4 kernel boot issues - drop a line into this thread - i'll upload my current kernel tree to github.

Power+volume up+home if i recall it correctly. Another way is to issue
Code:
fastboot boot your-recovery-image-name.img
while in fastboot mode.
For those who it may concern
Here's a list of my SPro-related repos (in order of appearance):
2.6 kernel - original dell sources bumped to .14 along with other additions. should be suitable for ics-based roms.
caf-3.4 kernel - my current point of interest.
device/dell/msm8660-common and device/dell/streakpro - device source trees for cyanogenmod 10.1, both based on htc pyramid device trees.
While I've never had a SPro, good luck with it.
Awesome!
I use GS01 as my main device, so I'm looking forward to your custom ROM!
Sort of update.
Dell responded:
I apologize for the delay. I have learned that we did not update to 3.x. I think you may have the latest versions. Thank you for your inquiry.

Trying to figure if androidboot.serialno= is really unique per-device.
I would like to ask StreakPro owners to post output of their device's cat /proc/cmdline output here. Command should be issued as root user, so you'll need to install TheManii's Superuser.zip via cwm.
Thanks in advance.
Is this ok?

First of all - as a rule of thumb you're better NOT to use one-click solutions for anything - these ARE evil.
Let's think you don't want to/can't disassemble it.
You'll need:#1 drivers for Spro - grab it here, #2 fastboot and adb binaries - grab these, #3 one of the stock ROMs - TheManii did a great job collecting them - select one containing SPro in filename from here, #4 CWM recovery image - grab this one (courtesy of TheManii) and #5 - superuser flasheable package (by TheManii as well)
You have to wait until phone's battery is fully drained.
After that you need to connect it to pc. It will enter so called "charge-only state" (charging battery animation). Wait until it fully charges (LED will become green). Disconnect it from pc/power supply now.
Then you'll need to turn it on by pushing power button AND volume down at the same time to enter fastboot mode - screen will go black with two lines on it:
Code:
FATBOOT!!!!
Version 0.5
Connect your phone to pc - you'll see third line
Code:
USB cable connected
and windows will ask for drivers for device (if you don't have them installed already)
After drivers installation you're set to fix you problem.
Open command prompt and cd to a dir containing adb and fastboot binaries (let's assume full path is y:\adb\ and you have copied CWM image into this folder):
Code:
cd y:\adb\
Then boot (we don't flash it this time preserving your device's warranty ) into CMW recovery
Code:
fastboot boot y:\adb\SPro-6.0.1.2.img
You'll see good'ol CWM recovery screen. Navigate to "Mounts and storage", then select "mount USB storage". Your pc will now be able to access phone's internal and external storage. Now copy ROM image of choice and superuser package to either of phone's partitions you've connected to pc on previous step.
Select Unmount in CWM menu (AFTER you did a safe device removal in windows - thin precaution will save you some nerves).
Navigate to "install zip from sdcard", then to "choose zip from sdcard", select ROM image you've copied previously, select "Yes - Install update-zip-you-have-selected.zip"
CWM will install ROM image for you.
Now do the same selecting superuser package instead of ROM image and install it as well.
Select "reboot system now". If everything's ok you'll see your device booting into your newly installed ROM. If it doesn't - get to fastboot mode again, boot CMW image and do a factory reset using it ("wipe data/factory reset").
I'll just leave it here
Not creating separate thread for this, just teasing a bit .

Summary: cyanogenmod-10.1 for StreakPro
NOT suitable for everyday use as of yet (mediaserver lockup bug is showstopper here), testing purposes only.
prerequisites:
baseband that is newer than 061 to get gsm voice working. (tested using baseband taken from MIL_2.0.12.0)
CWM recovery (to install it )
Working:
Boot
Speaker/wired headset/handset audio
Voice calls
Wifi
adb is enabled by default
3d seem to be working (gfxbench runs just as fine as on 061-World-Wide-Dell ROM)
Sensors (partially, there seem to be a problem with proximity sensor in phone app)
Hardware buttons (+button leds)
Touchscreen
Top LED (behaves differently, green while charging, blinks white on unread sms/email)
Battery stats (consumption measurement values are taken from similar device (htc pyramid) - if someone has access to real values for SPro - please share)
Buggy/not working at all:
Mobile data (known, working on fixing it)
Tethering (haven't touched it yet)
Bluetooth (haven't touched it yet)
UMS (internal/external SD are recognized and accesseable by apps, but pc mounting fails due to Settings segfault)
Camera (halfway there - cameras are being recognized by system/applications but currently we're unable to capture image. i'm working on it)
Mediaserver seem to be locking up boot process 9 times of 10. adb shell killall mediaserver will resume it.
You're encouraged to issue adb shell pm disable com.android.providers.media/com.android.providers.media.MediaScannerReceiver
to make mediascanner stop eating battery and cpu time like crazy.
No video in Youtube app. (haven't touched it yet)
Mute switch (low priority, got several options how to fix it, have to decide which is better)
bug reports aren't really needed, i'm aware of problems current build has and slowly (tbh - very slowly, shortage of spare time) progressing on those.
if someone's able/wishes to help fixing bugs - device tree and kernel are on my github.

Question. Can we now straight flash L kernels without you modifying the ramdisk? Like code blue, arkenstone etc etc?

Nope. Still need the any kernel version because of how heavy of ramdisk edits that there is.
The whole ramdisk is aosp and modified for permissive selinux so flashing a boot image will crash out the whole system.
@ramjet73 is working on a ramdisk injector to replace the ramdisk in kernels that do a complete boot.IMG

I think im going to use your modified code blue kernel for now. Thanks a lot for bringing this smoothness to n5 L.
I forgot to add in the op and will. If you are coming from the official L preview, you might experience a bunch of force closes on first boot. Just reboot about twice and it will settle down.
This is some funkiness involving selinux getting switched over to permissive.

It will behave exactly like the preview would when it comes to the sdcard so no you shouldn't. I don't have a n5 so o don't know if that behavior is in the preview or not.
I haven't heard anyone say anything about it on mako coming from kit kat

Yes please. He made his wishes clear. Ramjet is working in the injector which will do a reverse anykernel basically and replace the ramdisk like I did in the test.
This could be solved if the L kernel guys made a anykernel version instead of a full boot image so it wouldn't touch my ramdisk.
A lot of the magic that makes it so smooth is in the ramdisk.

Well I believe you were on the left over bunny stew so you could see the difference between the ramdisk difference and the the rest so you should be able to tell how much just the ramdisk does and then the evolution to what it is now and what makes it the complete picture.
Bet you love those 20 second boot times though
Anyways, time to get some sleep. It has been a long night and I'm hitting the caf stuff at every turn in the 1+1 L port and it is giving me a headache just thinking about it.
I'm gonna hang out with my son all day tomorrow so I won't really be on

Thanks man! Get some sleep. Have fun with your son.
Just flashed, works flawlessly, thanks for this great build!
BTW guys, you can use SuperSU, I just haven't gotten around to merging it in to replace koush's before SuperSU worked properly when fully permissive. Just make sure you use 2.02 or higher
Just an FYI, permissive just logs and doesn't actually deny anything so you will see the avc denied in logcats but it does go through.
I gotta tune the policy for hammerhead as I just did a basic aosp one for it
How would I get the home button to work. Its there just doesn't work

After looking into it, it seems I added an extra unneeded character to the script. I'm reuploading the correct version now, and I'll replace the download link accordingly! Sorry about that!

Hi,thank you very much, because my application supports xposed mode and normal root mode, so i need to release the GoogleDoor and Lib files in sdcard for injection into the system_server process to complete the functional patch, the program does not contain malicious code, you can decompile to confirm, according to your feedback Log, I modified the program, the current xposed mode does not need to click to install, activate the module can be used after the restart, this is the beta version, does not support all types of app to be converted into vr mode, the current upgrade to the 19 version, this version had repaired your feedback.

Zenfone2 ze331ml lollipop 5.0.1 here.
Installed, allowed root to modify system partition, tried to start 920 text editor and just got a black screen.
Phone did not react to nothing, home button, power button, nothing. seems dead.
After a while adb via usb started working, and i issued a reboot from there.
Next, i've got a bootloop; i disabled xposed and the bootloop did not went away!
Fortunately i've had a complete twrp backup...
I tried to understand what it did to my system app, but the source on github is not available.
